Noon should be Michigan's time slot. Let it be known throught the land, great football starts at noon and we the showcase. Let all the other teams fight for attention the rest of the day!

Then watch MNF Thursday edition or MAC on Tuesday night

pop a cap in that
|10 weeks 15 hours ago||Exactly||
That makes perfect sense.
|10 weeks 15 hours ago||this is college||
Night games seem more corporate, more NFL. Forget that, give me noon or 3:30 any fall Saturday and I give you heaven on Earth!
|10 weeks 15 hours ago||nooner||
Noon start should just be a given for west coast teams coming to Ann Arbor. BYU at night would not have moved the needle much. MSU at night would be mayhem. Let them destroy Cedar Village and leave Ann Arbor to the civilized!
|10 weeks 15 hours ago||Fans||
I bet there would be quite a few Adrian fans, even those that just like to root for an underdog might show up. So what if it counts as an exhibition, Michigan already plays a few of those every year.
But whatever it takes to have all 7 Michigan Hockey teams compete in some sort of tournament, make it happen Hackett and Hollis...

To Hell With Notre Dame!
I'd go with Yo...Adrian
|10 weeks 2 days ago||GLI||
Just extend the GLI a day and you could do this to accomodate 8 teams. Double headers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and championship on Sunday. If you absolutely need to avoid 3 games in a row you could start on Wednesday!
I'm sure Hollis would be game

That's another approach that is much better than what we have now. I could care less about playing New Hampshire or Nebraska-Omaha. I do like the idea of watching every hockey team in the Wolverine State compete at the Joe. In fact we could change the name from Great Lake Invitational to Wolverine State Cup! Way more exciting than a Bean Pot!

Love the idea!
|10 weeks 2 days ago||State of Michigan Championship!||
I've been wishing for this exact scenario for years. Maybe somebody could get Wayne State to start up a program again to get to 8 teams or we could get a Div 3 team to come in like Adrian or Finlandia (think Hoosiers the movie)...that would be awesome!
|11 weeks 1 day ago||Notre Dame||
I think Brandon sabotaged the ND series although he will never admit it. He had been talking about dropping ND and adding teams like USC on the coaches tour as soon as he became AD. He was so short sighted. I guess he didn't like the revenue sharing agreement with Notre Dame. Epic Fail!

Why not a Maize jersey like Gardner wore in the spring practice last year with Blue pants. Now that would be a sweet juxaposition for the away uni's!
|14 weeks 4 days ago||Product?||
Since when are the Michigan Wolverines a "product". I guess the writer stopped being a fan of the TEAM when he/she started a blog. JLA is an awesome venue with a ton of history. It's sad that people like you make excuses for your lack of enthusiasm because of the "product". The Michigan hockey team is pretty exciting, scoring 143 goals and winning 22 games. I'm sure that in a few years you are going to say that you loved watching Zach Hyman and Dylan Larkin when in reality you couldn't drive 30 min to support their effort to win the B1G title in Detroit and move on to the NCAA tourney (which I think they could have won). The TEAM deserves your support just like they did when you didn't show up for the Maryland football game at the Big House even though Brandon (previous excuse for apathy) was already fired. It was the last game for some great Michigan men and all they needed was one more win for a bowl bid, rabid fan support may have given them the home field advantage to propel them to victory. A fair weather fan making excuses is what I see. At least you can feign excitement for foot-baugh-ll this fall.
|14 weeks 4 days ago||Home Ice would definitely be||
Home Ice would definitely be more exciting. I think the B1G was hoping for more interest in the B1G Hockey tournament but in reality Minnesota or Wisconsin fans aren't driving to Detroit for this, not too many Michigan/MSU fans traveled to Minnesota last year. I hope they correct this experiment. Still some good hockey and USCHO is totally biased against the B1G. Michigan should be in the tourney they won 22 games for crying out loud and the best offense in the country! Only 10 teams have more wins. There are definitely some less deserving teams in the mix

Why did Red stick with Racine against PSU? He stunk up the joint that weekend.

They'd better figure it out or 2014-15 is going to be the first year in my memory that there is no post season for football, basketball or hockey :-(
|20 weeks 1 day ago||FS Detroit isn't national. I||
FS Detroit isn't national. I don't live in Michigan. By playing an outdoor game in Chicago the game got better national exposure, at least that's what it looks like from here.
|20 weeks 2 days ago||My Vote||
Outdoor game every 4 years against MSU but alternate between Michigan and Spartan Stadium. Forget neutral sites. I'd go to Happy Valley once if that were on the books.
|20 weeks 2 days ago||we won!||
Hey man, I'm happy I got to watch the Wolverines kill the Spartans. I love seeing B1G hockey get more exposure on BTN and this game may not have been on BTN if it were at Yost. So it was a win win for me. I agree that neutral sites are a terrible draw. Not too many people at Progressive Field, Comerica Park or Soldier Field. I think Notre Dame was a bigger draw last year because that may have been their first outdoor game.

I like it overall but maybe the teeth should be pointing in the other direction.
I still think we need to talk to marvel to co-promote, it's a win-win
|21 weeks 6 days ago||The Wolverine Logo||
Any chance we can ge Marvel to co-promote?
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Marching Band||
I always thought it was short-sighted not to have the marching band attend every away football game. Shouldn't we take every advantage we are allowed? I'm sure we can afford it with the war chest Martin and now Brandon have accumulated.
At any rate if they are just going to the big games playing the defending champs is about as big as it gets, don'tcha think?
