|3 weeks 4 days ago||I never even give MSU any thought except the week we play them||
I've got enough friends and family who went to MSU that I am actually happy for them. They are finally at a place where they are getting national recognition. But they still have a complex though. They seem to hold it against us when they don’t get national respect - like it's our fault. And they can’t stop talking about our team – EVER. I hope they never stop talking about us. If that happens, I will be bummed. In the meantime, I’m heading over to Walmart to buy a frame to hold my Michigan Diploma.

last year I made it to Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Rutgers - along with 3 home games. I was also on a flight that got cancelled the Saturday morning of the Maryland game - otherwise I would've been at that game too. And that was without Harbaugh! Now that we got Harbaugh, there's no telling how many games I'm going to be at this year. I've already started looking into making plans to go to the Spring game and the Utah game. I am definitley going to the Penn State and Maryland games. Luckily, I have accounts in Minnesota so I'm hoping to make it to that game too, but Bloomington is in the middle of nowhere - that is the least likely game for me.

So it was probably half that size! LOL

And I will never forget being in the elevator with the Fab Five. It was ridiculous how big those guys were. I remember Sam Mitchell being there too. I also remember Chris Weber hiding in his closet during a fire alam in the middle of the night. I have no idea how he ever got close to fitting in there. Lots of good memories including the tournament runs. I probably still have VHSC tapes of all the celebrating all over campus and then being tear gassed.

I remember back in '07 or '08 when Valenti said he wasn't even going to go to the MSU/UM game anymore. Kind of lost a little respect for him when he did that for the reasons he gave. I've moved out of state since and haven't listened in a ling time.

I have a Premium Spotify account so I load up all the new releases that come out each Tuesday and listen to them all throughout the week. Looking forward to the Joey Badass album as 'Teach Me' is the track of the year so far. Also looking forward to the new Enter Shakari and marilyn Manson. Curious about the Lupe and the Sleater-Kinney comeback.

Feels good to get money when they win and feels just as good to lose money everytime they lose...
|7 weeks 3 days ago||The schedule||
The schedule and the team's record was a major factor in the low resale value for tickets. The reality is that this team never gave up. I ended up at 3 home games and 3 road games - although they are all road games for me as I don't live in Michigan. I loved how the team never stopped battling. Made me proud as an alum.
As for resale value - you are probably always going to get end zone seats in the high rows for less than face value - for most games. Tickets near mid-field are usually going to be in high demand. Outside of the Maryland game, I made money on all the tickets I didn't use.
As for the PSD and renewing my ticket - I would never even dream of not renewing. It's my school.
The one thing I really don't have a good guess about is student attendance. Seems like even schools that have top winning programs currently are having issues with attendance. The students have legit gripes - expensive food, poor cell connections, Hi-def TVs at home. Not sure I can relate as I haven't been to college since the 90s. I hope this is not an issue moving forward.
For me the worst part of the season is never knowing what times the games are going to be played. It's really hard to make travel plans in advance when they don't the time of some of these games until a week or two before.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||The deadline is end of January||
I usually wait until mid January as a rule to send in my PSD. Last year, I made it to 3 home games and 3 road games - which isn't easy for me as I live in New York. I would've gone to the Utah and Maryland games but my flight got cancelled for the Maryland game and the weather was too crazy to chance it for Utah. So yeah, renewing my tickets was never going to be an issue. Go Blue!

Baba Booey was with Jon Hein the whole time. Jon is a Michigan grad.

I can echo just about all the comments here as I had pretty much had the same experience. The Rutgers fans like their football team, but REALLY seem to LOVE their tailgating. A few fans tried 'chopping' us, but it was a pleasant experience, much like the Connecticut and Penn State games that I've been to the last few years. Only a handful of knuckleheads here or there, but I must say I was expecting way more just from the experience I have at every NJ Devils game. The fans were really excited - seemed like a sell out with maybe some room to spare in the student section. I think their main theme song is Metallica "Whom The Bell Tolls" as they did some sort of choreographed hand movement every time the song played. We were in the front row on the 20 yard line behind the Michigan bench and were completely surrounded by Michigan fans. I was pleasantly surprised to see Baba Booey and Jon Hein roaming the sideline the whole game. The only really a-hole I saw was the Michigan guy with the sign that said "This is not Michigan". Dude - why bother showing up if that is how you feel? Also, I must say that after going to the Notre Dame game this year, I am very thankful to go to stadiums that have a scoreboard and screen for replays. Really had no idea what was going on on more than a few plays in South Bend - didn't care for that at all ( not to mention the outcome of that game).

I will be back for all the games I can get to. Initally, I was only going to come back for the Penn State game and make that my last home game of the year, but flights back to Michigan are really expensive that week so I am likely only coming back for the Indiana game. I will be in Piscataway next week and in Chicago for the Northwestern game, I am there to support the kids and my school. If the coaches can't get the job done, I have no doubt they will be replaced. These kids are giving it their best, and they are highly ranked talent, but just like everyone else I too am tired of our team being out-coached. I love my school, I love these kids, and nothing gets me more jacked then Michigan Football. Now isn't the time to desert my school.

but I look forward to every game. I can't imagine not anticipating every game. It's funny that you mention the Lions because I gave up watch the Lions and all NFL games years ago, but I would never give up on my school. I'm flying in to go to the Minnesota game this weekend. Hoping that ND and Utah go undefeated and we beat the crap out of Minnesota - best case scenario, I know. That would make me feel better about going to the Rutgers game - which I will probably do even if we get blasted by Minnesota. Thinking about not coming back for the Penn State game if we lose this week. Already got my flight booked for Northwestern so I really can't change my mind about that. The only thing I feel bad about is taking my wife to all these games. I can't count the number of games I've taken her to that turned out to be disasters: Alabama, South Carolina (at least we competed), Connecticut (which really felt like a loss), Penn State (2010), MSU (2010) and at ND this year. We've been to some good games Ohio (2011) and ND at home last year, but man, there have just been too many bad ones lately.
ND game was the worst. I thought being in Dallas for the Alabama game was pretty bad, but I've never left a game before the 4th quarter ever. I was just numb. I told my wife that if we didn't score in the third quarter, we were leaving. She didn't believe me. But we left at the very end of the third quarter.
Not sure why, but I find myself wearing my block M gear now more than ever. Proud of my school, proud of these kids. Hoping they turn it around, but if they can't I know we will bring in the right people who will. I could be wrong, but I have the belief that Dave Brandon and Brady Hoke will stick around as long as the team wins, not whether or not I keep spending money on tickets. Am I naive?

but I already had my flight to Michigan (from Fort Smith, AR) booked to see the Winter Classic and couldn't really change it. If not for the Winter Classic being held at Michigan Stadium, I would've flown out to just about any bowl game. Now we just have to wait and see if the Wolverines B-ball game will be at the same time as the Wolverines hockey game - right before the football game starts.

|1 year 23 weeks ago||The guy behind me...||
I just got back to NYC a few minutes ago. The guy a few rows behind me was hilarious. It's really too bad we didn't do better because I would've loved to have heard him complain the whole game. I knew I was lucky to be sitting by him before the game even started when he blew a gasket as their band played our fight song. He immediately lost his mind and suggested they play the song everytime we scored. Unfortunately, our performance kept him quiet most of the game, until the 4th quarter.
We sat next to some really nice UConn fans. They warned us that the stadium could be brutal at times, mostly because of all the alcohol, but we didn't experience any negative comments directed our way. Also, it was really hard to tell who was rooting for who since 90% of the people there were wearing blue, but we were 35-40% of the crowd - in my best estimate.
At halftime, some UConn folks in the mens rooom were chanting things like "Akron, Akron" and "Urban Meyer" but they couldn't keep it going and seemed they were just more giddy that they were even ahead. The local radio broadcasters mentioned in pre-game that they were just hoping to keep the score close after all the early blowout scores today. The players obviously played like they didn't want to be 0-3.
That's all I got. A win is a win. And I finially got to see them win on the road after a bad streak (South Carolina, Alabama, and Penn State). This might be a great time for a bye week.

I saw Twenty One Pilots the other night and was really disappointed they didn't sing 'House of Gold'! 'Car Radio' is good, but H.O.G. is a monster. The whole album is great.

you really have to check them all out in order get a comprehenisive scope but here are a few I didn't see listed:
I'm pretty hardcore about keeping up with modern music and the reality is that when a new song drops from any noteworthy artist, most of the music blogs/sites with post links almost immmediately.
Here's a link to my Top 150 songs of 2012:
I would've done a Spotify list, but a lot of my favorite tracks from this year weren't available on Spotify.
