Every year, I say to myself "if only I made this amount of money per year, I'd be pleased." Well, the next year comes along and I get that raise and I again say to myself, "well, I guess what I actually meant is that this other amount of money would be more sufficient."
If that happens with me as I slooowly rise through the ranks of the middle class, I'm sure that feeling of wanting more money never really stops, even with the multi-millionaires.

Appalachian State? Interesting, for some reason, I don't believe I've ever heard of them before...

Don't get me wrong, I like science-y stuff. But the fact that it wasn't "earth" shattering enough to immediately come out and say what the big deal is and are instead waiting until Monday to have a presentation on it, most likely means that to the average person, the news won't necessarily be all that interesting or relevant. In either case, I look forward hearing about what the major discovery is.

Hold on, Touchdown Bundy in the 7th round? He'll be long gone by then. Don't forget, this man holds the school record in touchdowns and even got 4 in the state championship game. No way he falls to the 7th round even with his well documented injury issues.

I'll be honest, I didn't ncessarily want him back. He's a very decent blocker, but he can't hang on to a ball to save his life, especially in pressure situations when it really matters. Ed Dickson could've come pretty cheap and is a hell of blocker, and Jeremichael Finley would be a big time offensive weapon with a contract that's a lot less than he's truly worth. Oh well, I guess it's not a bad thing to have to settle with Pettigrew.

You paid a lot more than that to be afforded the privilege to walk into a building and sit down. What's a few more bucks on the false hope of inebriation?

They are just polite games of chicken to see who's going to tap out first. Like you said, it's public relations that's really at stake here. It will blow up in their face if they go to court with a defense centered around justifying that they never really specified there ever really was a size difference between the two cups. This will end with money out the arena's pockets in one form or another, but most certainly will not get anywhere near a judge.
Great move by the person who's bringing the lawsuit. They either get a few bucks in a silent settlement to shut him up, or the arena drastically changes their ways in order to convince the person to drop the suit and so that the fans forgive them.

In contract talk this means "it's a done deal, but since it's not officially on paper and the finer details of the contract are being hammered out, I'm not at liberty to say anything has really happened yet."

After going stir crazy working all of last winter remote, I decided to work exclusively from the office this winter. What a stupid freaking year to decide to make that decision...

Those odds are actually surprisingly good for a projected 2 seed. I would've expected them to be anywhere between 10/1 or 15/1 at the most, though I'd imagine the odds will eventually drop down to that come the actual start of the tourney.
I normally go to Vegas the week of the tourney every year and place my bet at the Paris sportsbook. Yeah, it's not the best sportsbook in Vegas, but that's where I've done it every minus 1 since 2006. The only time I've ever won money on a tourney bet there was few years back on my 15/1 payout thanks to UConn. Unfortunately, the new baby is making this year's first week of the tourney a staycation for me...

He was the B1G COY per the media, but the coaches voted Miles from Nebraska as their coach of the year. As impressive as Beilein was, I have absolutely no issue with Miles getting this piece of hardware as he absolutely deserved it. Even as a U of M homer, I, and may others here, think the bigger injustice would've been if Miles walked away without any award.
|6 days 2 hours ago||I thought it was obvious that||
I thought it was obvious that a major goal of this piece is to eventually be shown in schools on a regular basis. So with that in mind, you could definitely tell the target audience was aimed at a younger crowd. That said, I really enjoyed it nonetheless. I look forward the future episodes. Just like Sagan, it's easy to see how much Neil loves science, and that just permeates through the whole show and is quite contagious.

Milwaukee is where we want to be. Not terribly far away for Michiganders, and only a less than 2 hr drive away from our large alumni base in Chicago. As for the Canadians, they'll go wherever they need to go to cheer on their white wolf of the north.
|6 days 3 hours ago||I acknowledge that a lot of||
I acknowledge that a lot of Beilein's offense seems to make for a lot of sitting in one place, but he does really stand around flat footed more than other players on the team. Again, that may be by design, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth. As for defense, I didn't necessarily say he was bad at defending, but if there was an award for most times a Michigan player has walked/lightly jogged back on defense behind everyone else, Glen would win it hands down.
Bottom line is he's drastically correcting these behaviors, and it shows.
|6 days 4 hours ago||You know what, I'll take that||
You know what, I'll take that. Caris' role and how he plays is the most similar to junior year THJ out of all of them.
BTW - I was not meaning to say I thought GRIII was as important and impactful as THJ by any means. I was just saying the the potential of what he could do offensively (if he really tried to be more than just pure athleticism more often), would look more like Timmy than how Irvin plays. But yeah, I'll take THJ over him anyday as their actual production is not comprable at all.
|6 days 5 hours ago||He definitely does seem to||
He definitely does seem to have a more quiet, humble personality. But walking back to the other side of the court (he's very often the last person back on defense), and up until recently, just standing around (no movement, not even at least staying on his toes) when he doesn't have the ball is just plain lazy. A quiet demeanor and playing out of position is no excuse for that...but he is starting to correct it,.
|6 days 6 hours ago||What THJ most certainly did||
What THJ most certainly did (even in his freshman year) that neither Irvin or GRIII do is drive to the basket with authority and throw it down. He didn't do that as much as he could've and should've (especially when he was in a slump and only thought about long ball), but he realized he had the skills and strength to do that. I can only imagine how dangerous GRIII would be if he suddenly realized he could do that as well. Irvin...I don't know if he's ever going to be that type of player. To that effect, he does kind of remind me of the jumpshot only version of THJ when the floor anywhere under 18 ft away from the rim is lava.
So yes, I guess you could say Irvin is playing a little more like sophomore year THJ, but GRIII's skillset and potential does more align with junior year Timmy.
|6 days 7 hours ago||GRIII actually being able to||
GRIII actually being able to do more than be on the receiving end of an alley oop: I'll admit, I constantly complained about GRIII's lazy, uninspiring play. IMO, he truly was a waste of minutes for the bulk of this year who was dependent on others to get his points and I believed he would never really turn the corner while in a Michigan jersey. However, he has made me eat my words as he has really turned up his game in the past few weeks and turned into a legitimate threat who can create for himself. Yes, he still has his moments (and a lot of them at that), but now, teams can't ignore him which makes us all the more dangerous come the tourney.

Crean is a complete douche who needs to stop putting his hands down his pants and also has to learn to get off the court when there are players anywhere in his general vicinity. They refs need to realize we're not at assembly hall and Indiana shouldn't be getting preferential treatment. Lastly, IU needs to realize they're not actually a good basketball team and start missing some shots.
