Ain't that the truth. No one these days would be afforded the alleged quiet cover-up of a suspension in the form of temporary retirement like MJ got, not to mention his other extra-marital endevours. Of course what I'm saying has never been proven, but a ton of evidence points to Michael's 1.5 year retirement suspciously right on the heels of an NBA investigation into his gambling activities as nothing more that generous trade off to avoid having his name publically sullied in the prime of his career.
If this conspiracy theory were to be true, the current media would never have let that fly or stay quiet about it with any of the superstars of this era.

There are what, 125 FBS football teams, and each team is allowed 85 scholarship players, right? So, let's just very loosely average that down to say 40 defensive players on each team, which comes out to 5000 defensive players in FBS football. Doing the math, 76/5000 = 0.0152.
So, 1.5% of all defensive players are on this preseason watch list. 1.5%<<<<<<<<<<50%. Even if I'm off in my total defensive players, that percentage is still going to be very low. So, to the "half of all defensive players" comment guy, I know you were exagerrating (drastically), but your intentions of that hyperbole were still in an attempt to make light of being on this watch list. While 76 seems like a big number for this at first, it certainly seems like quite an elite honor to be on it.

Wolverines as it refers to the state of Michigan and its people is not in direct reference to the animal. Wolverines was an originally derogatory term for Michigan citizens as coined by Ohioans as we were considered as gluttonous and voracious as wolverines in our pursuit of land. Fortunately it stuck and was twisted into a positive and our state nickname.

When my 2-toothed 10 month old attempts to bite my wife's leg for no good reason, that's hilarious. When a grown man on one of the world's biggest stages tries to bite an opponent because in his very confused mind he believes it will afford him some semblence of a competitive advantage, that's quite disturbing.

If a more long term look at his career is what this list was going for, wouldn't Roy Williams, Jim Boeheim and Mark Few be higher up on that list then? This list can't make up it's mind. It clearly isn't looking at the long term accomplishments because some of the college coaching greats didn't even break the the top 10. It's not looking at the short term, because the winner of more NCAA tourney games in the past 2 seasons, with 2 BIG championships in the past 3 years with a national runner up under his belt is only #9. ESPN (lack of) logic strikes again!

Before the second season started, we watched like first few minutes of the very first episode and just weren't in to it. Fast forward to last week, we watched it again and we can't believe how stupid we were. In less than a week we are already 1 episode away from the season 2 finale. It really is an amazing show.

The Leftovers on HBO (starting next weekend) will be my replacement for GoT for the time being. The first time watching the trailer gave me chills, so I can't wait!
In the meantime, my wife and I have started binge watching Orphan Black. I'm not sure how we survived before streaming video services...

I played football for 8 years, and not only am I much more knowledgeable in the in's and out's of football, but it is also by far my favorite sport to watch in general (i.e - I'd choose to watch a random football game over a random basketball game any day). But ever since I was little, Michigan basketball has always demanded my attention more than the football team has(which is saying a lot).

I got to work and realized I left my wallet at home, then I went outside where I promptly/accidently dropped my new favorite mug on the sidewalk and watched it shatter. Today is not a good day. Damn you, Friday the 13th!
Maybe getting pos-banged hard will turn my day around...

It's not our fault the OP put Udoh in there for only $2. But to be honest, Udoh should probably be $4 or even $5, and Stu should ideally be under the shooting guards.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Ha! GRIII at $5, noooo thank you.||
Trey Burke ($5)
Zak Irvin ($3)
Deshawn Sims ($4)
Epke Udoh ($2)
Trey at the point to distribute, drive and distract, Vogrich to be a warm body on the court (a liability, but one this lineup can easily deal with), Zak to be a threat that demands attention behind the arc, Deshawn to get points in the short and mid range game, and Udoh to bump bodies out of the way and control the post on both ends. Sounds like a dream team to me.

What needs to be said for this post has already been said, and better than I could do so myself, but that won't stop me from my putting my two cents in anyways. It's easier to ignore self promotion when it's backed by content that is top notch and insightful. This article was more of a informal reflective piece without much detail or interesting tidbits, making it more of a simple discussion starter than anything. It really was no better than a decent OP on this board. This may work as an article on that site, but it is not up to snuff for linking MGoBloggers to. So, I personally feel gypped and I'm sure others who are ragging on you pretty hard feel the same.
If you must link to a 3rd party article you authored, make sure it's one that goes above and beyond the usual content we'd see in a decent forum post here. You do that (in moderation) and you're reception will be much less negative. Good luck!

Sorry OP, mandatory downvote for linking to Bleacher Report, even if it was a well intended attempt at posting an "article" attempting to make Wolverine fans feel warm and fuzzy.

That's a odd statement to make. No one's death is unimportant by any means, but it's quite safe to say that Maya Angelou touched many people in a much more profound way over the course of her life than did Malcolm Glazer (although Glazer's business accomplishments and philanthropic endeavors are nothing to sneeze at).

If I'm not mistaken, the draft board gave him an very optimistic review and he was actually supposed to get drafted pretty high, but completely bombed in the combine. We all wanted him to stay for multiple reasons (especially after he completely whiffed on the draft), but had he performed even moderately better predraft, I'm sure his decision would made have made a ton more sense. That combine can really make or break you sometimes.
