the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

My wife actually just had me put down a small across the board bet on him, so I wouldn't mind if you're right... |
| 27 min 43 sec ago | With Orb sitting at 1-1 odds, I'm honestly |
With Orb sitting at 1-1 odds, I'm honestly thinking of sitting this one out (betting wise). I had Mylute in the Derby, but have completely lost faith in Rosie. I do think Orb will have trouble in coming out of the first post, and I'm really liking Itsmyluckyday to pull out a shocker. Other than that, Titletown 5 is sitting with 30 to 1 odds, and in a 9 horse field, that's looking mighty tempting... |

It's a two minute race. If you think this high paced competition that takes less time than it would take to make a cup of coffee bores you, than I'm pretty sure you've never actually watched a horse race before. Try watching it once. I decided to a few years ago and now I love the sport. |
| 1 day 1 hour ago | For food in Tempe, Four |
For food in Tempe, Four Peaks, Oregano's, Tott's Asian Diner, Ted's Hot dogs and Nello's are a must. For bars, I'm partial to the Vine on Apache (it's dumpy, but I loved it), as well as Mac's Broiler Room and Tap on McClintock and Guadalupe, and Papago Brewing (they sell Bell's) on Scottsdale and McDowell |
| 1 day 1 hour ago | Dillys Deli on Southern Ave |
Dillys Deli on Southern Ave in Tempe! I lived a block down the street from there and loved that place. The southwest club (which tastes a lot like the Pat's and Dick's Honeymooner sandwich from Zingerman's) and a bread bowl of their clam chowder was the only thing I would ever get there. Amazing stuff. I'd rank them as the second best sandwich shop in the Valley (behind Chompies). |
| 1 day 2 hours ago | Just moved back to A2 in late |
Just moved back to A2 in late 2011 after 5 years in Arizona. Hate to say, but if you're looking for an apartment, you have to do it quickly. Since there are really not that many apartment options, students snatch them up quickly and well in advance, and then other renters quickly follow behind those students. There are plenty of complexes downtown that are being built (and are being marketed to young professionals, rather than students), so this maybe a year where you have to bite the bullet and move into a complex with availability that might not fit all your needs, all while keeping on eye on when you can reserve a lease at one the newer complexes. As for development jobs, there are a bunch of tech oriented companies that might be worth looking into. Thomson Reuters and Barracuda standout as the larger A2 based ones, but if you are up to commuting a little bit, you may want to look more towards metro detroit. I prefer to stay in Ann Arbor for work, so I don't have much knowledge of those oppurtunities, but there sure seem to be a lot of them over by the Livonia area. As for other tidbits, the West side is heavy with the yuppies/townies, closer to downtown is a hodge podge of people and a ton of students (obviously), Pittsfield area I generally tend to stay away from in terms of living accomadations (there are some nice places, but there something not right about it since it doesn't really feel like Ann Arbor, but more like a A2/Ypsi/Saline clusterf*ck), and the northeast side is heavily residential and family based with not much to do. I stick to the west side and downtown. Anyways, Ann Arbor is changing, it's definitely evolving by getting bigger and a little more commercial, but it's still the best damn city in the world, you'll love it here.

| 4 days 1 hour ago | Meh, they won the NIT in 2012 |
Meh, they won the NIT in 2012 (I think), and followed that up last year with a 2nd round exit in the NIT, a 18-14 (9-9) regular season record and dismantling of a top 10 Oregon team (at the time) as their best win. Since they're only losing 3 points/game production to graduation, I assume they can only get better. So, I wouldn't say stinky (but I wouldn't say great either), as there's a decent possiblilty this is a NCAA tourney bound team. Regardless, it's better than the WVU team we played in Brooklyn last that finished below .500. Should definitely be a game we should win against a RPI top 100 team at the least. |
| 5 days 39 min ago | When you start a post like you did, people will |
When you start a post like you did, people will naturally go on the defensive to turn you into the douche you claimed you were not. It's something I'm quite guilty of doing myself. Anyways, any thread that relates to the University (sports or not), past, present and (potential) future U of M athletes, as well as past, present and future U of M opponents and rivals are not OT. So, that being said, your inquiry is not an unreasonable one, and to answer it, this thread is most certainly on topic. |
| 6 days 13 hours ago | No adult beveraged for me tonight |
If I must choose between the two, I'll take Kraft, just because the amount of cheesiness with Velveeta can really start getting annoying after a bit. However, I prefer my own homemade baked mac n cheese: Egg noodles mixed with heavy cream and shredded fontina, poured in a casserole dish with a layer of sliced havarti in the middle, topped with parmesan cheese (the real stuff) and italian breadcrumbs, then baked til melty and golden brown on top. Nothing beats it. |

That has got to be the best picture of Tori Spelling I've ever seen. The photographer and/or photshopper of this image is a true master of their craft. Let's use a more realistic photo of her instead:

...the B1G champion last year was Ohio, and the SEC really shouldn't have had a team in the National Championship game. As delighfully wonderful as it was that Ohio missed out on the postseason last year, the SEC and Bama unjustly benefited from it. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Want more attention from the schools that you |
Want more attention from the schools that you actually have the ability to transfer to? Tell everyone you're considering transferring to Michigan. We've seen plenty of guys do it before and we all know U of M has never been real big on transfers. I really wouldn't mind a backup QB who could limit the possible burning of Shane's redshirt to being a personal decision by Hoke rather than out of neccesity, but I just don't see it happening. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Just because you have the ability to start |
Just because you have the ability to start threads, it doesn't mean you should. Threads are best served for those who have something contribute rather than for those who asking others to contribute somethinv to them. That being said, within the past few weeks ago, there were a couple threads by users who contributed some pretty nice football wallpapers to the board. An MGoSearch for wallpapers should do the trick to help you find them. Sorry for the snark, but useless threads asking for wallpapers or recruiting news are huge board pet peeves. |
| 1 week 3 days ago | What I wouldn't do for an |
What I wouldn't do for an Arizona burrito from Fili B's, or better yet, a white hot from Ted's in Tempe. As for coney dogs, I know the Upper Deck in Old Town Scottsdale (owned by an MSU alum, or at least was when I was there) had some pretty decent ones with dogs shipped from Michigan, and while the name slips me, there was another little place in South Scottsdale owned by another former Michigan resident that did a good version as well. But yeah, it's a more than fair trade to give up the fast food options in Arizona in order to have easy access to Coney Islands, Blimpy and Zingerman's again |
| 1 week 3 days ago | Culvers, as well as Steak n |
Culvers, as well as Steak n Shake, have a drive thru, and that makes them a fast food place in my book. And Five Guys does more fit into the walk up, made to order category with Habit Burger and Smashburger, but you can't have a fast service burger joint convo without them included. "Mega" chains like McDonalds are a different category all together and can't even compete with the aformentioned restaurants in the taste and service categories.

| 1 week 3 days ago | As good as 2x4 animal style |
As good as 2x4 animal style with chopped chilis extra toast is, I think would definitely take a Culver's butter burger over it any day (mmm, butter burger). Only had Habit Burger once, Whataburger is meh, and while still good, I can't say I've been horribly impressed with Five Guys (haven't been to Smashburger). However, you still have to respect In-N-Out for how well they treat and pay their employees, which definitely shows through in the service. To further deviate, even though it's not a "burger joint," Chick-fil-A trumps them all. Man, living back in Ann Arbor definitely makes me miss all the better fast food options I had when I was in Arizona. |

Any comment in the article as to whether they plan on using the patented CBS camera style of switching to the worst, most nonsensical camera angle at critical times of the game? |

In college, we'd always get a handle of Popov, or 5 O'Clock when we really didn't have an extra few bucks to "splurge," and run it through our Brita water filter reserved for vodka only. It would destroy the filter after about 3 handles, but it saved us from a lot of of those patented cheap vodka hangovers, let alone that rubbing alcohol taste. I'm sure my mom is still curious why I seemed so obsessed with clean water in college... |

While it doesn't seem to be as good as his show was on Travel channel (I think he's happier now on CNN, and oddly enough, his grumpiness made the show a lot more enjoyable), Anthony Bourdain is always quality television. |

Had some left over from yesterday for the Derby, so I am having a glass of Sweet Tea Southern Comfort. As if SoCo isn't delicious and smooth as it is, this premixed cocktail variant is one of the tastiest adult beverages I've ever had. Watching an episode of Anthony Bourdain's new show on CNN only makes it taste that much sweeter. |

Thanks a lot, Terminate Carr. Irrational or not, baseball is a sport with many superstitions, a major one of which is to NEVER talk about a no hitter in progress. Therefore, I'm irrationally blaming you. Edit: My wife, who knows very little about baseball and just started to watch it with me last season, even knew not to say anything today. Pretty much, she, in her novice fanhood, has infinitely better baseball fan ettiquette than you. |

Just kidding, even she cheers against MSU, Ohio and ND on bye weeks. Sorry, but I really don't see anything wrong with cheering against your rivals. Matter of fact, to just ignore their existence or cheer them on in their games outside of us is what could be considered really odd. There's a line between disliking your rivals and being sparty level obsessed, and rooting against them on a bye week is not crossing that line at all. |
| 2 weeks 12 hours ago | I popped my Churchill Downs |
I popped my Churchill Downs cherry last year at the Derby. That hours long wait to get in and the similarly long wait to get out of the infield is enough to make me want to go back only if it is with grandstand tickets. That, along with the heat and sunshine, which had not been in the forecast, was brutal. To top it off, while gambling at a casino outside Cinci the night before, I had talked my wife out of betting on I'll Have Another (I don't remember why, I think it had something to do with his post position not historically being a good one). So out of all the money we bet, which was a decent amount, we walked out of the racetrack with just $15 in winnings, thanks to a lone $5 show bet on Dullahan. However, we also walked out with a great memory, despite all the things I could spend forever complaining about Anyways, the Derby is a great event, and Churchill Downs is a great place. Good luck to anyone putting money down on it tomorrow, and have fun to anyone going or just watching on tv. As for me, I'll be at home, drinking some sort of adult beverage in my 2012 Kentucky Derby commerative mint julep glass, cheering on Mylute and enjoying the greatest, most exciting 2 minutes in all of sports. |
