Of course, most of the reason for the increase in adminstration is the increase in regulations from the Federal Government, increasing the need for oversight positions in administration to make sure money is being spent properly. Decrease regulation, and decrease the number of necessary administration positions.
UM runners Nate Brannen and Nick Willis both made it to the 1500 semifinals today, Willis winning his heat. Semifinals are on Sunday, with the finals on Tuesday. Nice to see both of these guys do well, hope they keep moving up!
A really good book, learned a lot about Michigan hockey that I didn't know, I have to find a copy for my bookshelf...or maybe Bacon needs to do an update for the last ten years or so of hockey, update it through the Shawn Hunwick story.
I have to say I liked the Alumni band more than the usual pep band. More energy and a nice change of pace in songs (and, a bit more energy from the band director).
Like Brian I don't like that all of seniors are one end, The students on the north end are mostly silent. They've never really been particularly loud on that end, but this year it seems particularly bad.
But it goes to show you the power that the alumni (especially the player alumni) has in a program. If there was a significant fraction badmouthing the guy, then maybe he should go for the good of the program. We probably don't want to say F-you to the folks who made the program what it is.
The biggest difference is that, for whatever reason, he RR didn't have the support of the alumni, AND he didn't win. I'm not sure which one was bigger, but I think that you could make the case that they equally conrtibuted to the firing.

I'm watching the first KHL/Gagarin Cup game, and I'm digging this color guy better than Barry Melrose--and he's speaking in Russian!
