It seemed to me like somebody other than Cowherd was telling Cowherd to get ticked off and try to push Harbaugh's buttons. I didn't see anything wrong with Harbaugh's responses to some awful questions, and then Cowherd just flipped for no reason.

Pretty good at football. Won the state title in 1988 (Brent Moss) and 2005 (John Clay).

Regarding Colin's comment about 18 year old kids who heard the interview, I'd have been pretty sad with my life if I was a high schooler listening to sports talk radio while on summer vacation.
Let's see - beach, basketball court, or listening to Colin Cowherd?

Pipkins asserts in the article that Michigan wanted the scholarship… but for what?
This is how Pipkins gets sympathy, by claiming he was being moved out. If Harbaugh and the doctors just want him to rest, going public with the argument that Michigan's doctors are concerned with his health and don't want him to play anymore doesn't make much sense for a story.
This is probably an attempt to gain public support for his transfer (the old "come and get me" plea popular in world soccer), and to apply pressure to whichever football team's medical staff receives his medical records from Michigan in the attempt to play one more season.
I understand both sides on this one. Both the professionals and the college kid are doing what they think is the best.

How did Hutchinson get 6 years (1995 recruiting class?) at Michigan? He played in 2000. That would make him and Brady members of the 1996 recruiting class if they redshirted.

Lloyd Carr won 80% of his conference games.
Carr lost fewer games in 13 years than Rich Rod and Hoke in 7.
What's your point.

Wasn't Lloyd the DC when Woodson committed? If he inherited him, it was only because he helped bring him in.
Did Lloyd inherit A-Train, Henson, Navarre, Perry, Woodley, Burgess, Hall, Brady, Hutchinson, Manningham, Hart, Henne, Breaston, Braylon, etc.etc.etc.etc.
Stay off the stupid pills.

He agreed to the lifetime ban. It really doesn't matter what any of us think.
|1 week 2 days ago||There are only two||
There are only two problems:
(1) All baseball players see the sign in every dressing room which tells them not to gamble on sports; and
(2) much more importantly, Pete Rose himself agreed to the lifetime ban.
But as a baseline proposition, if you're betting that your team would win, you could be in a position that you would bet your team would not win, to cover your losses if you bet on your team winning and it didn't happen. The moment you even consider doing that, professional sports turns into the WWE.
And as for the second issue (random game in which your team isn't playing), shamone. Pete Rose calls up the manager of a team in that game, tells him to tank it and offers to split the winnings with him. You have no problem with that?

And you have no idea of the actual available scholarships for the 2016 class, just like the rest of us. That number won't be known for sure until next August.

This would be a rather unintelligent way to run a recruiting board. You are making assumptions without complete information, just like the rest of us. It is very well possible the coaches know they will have 25 spots available in 2016 and are recruiting for that possibility. The fact none of us precisely how that will happen does not mean anything hypocritical is going on.

Well, you're right though the Rose Bowl means a lot as well.
But the rest are just exhibition games. It's true. They mean nothing.

As far as importance goes, the Michigan State TD throws in the fourth quarter were the best throws Henne ever made. The touch and precision on the TDs to Mathews and Manningham were out of this world good.
Henne was great in the bowl game as well, but that was nothing more than an exhibition game.

He's been doing this for a decade now. His ability as compared to his contemporaries, as well as the number of trophies he's won, probably puts him in the argument for greatest of all time. The only players who really compare at this point are Pele, Maradona, Cruijff, Beckenbauer and Di Stefano.
Had he won the World Cup last year, there would be no argument he's better than Maradona. What a bummer Argentina lost.

If the question is opened up to just Michigan players, the answer is probably Webber, closely followed by Rice.
If the question is opened up to any college basketball player ever, given this team's style of play and specific needs, Christian Laettner is the no-question pick.

Webber wasn't the 5 for the Fab 5, it was Juwan Howard, who was backed up by Eric Riley.

If you want a dominant 5 in your lineup, you should be picking Juwan Howard, not Webber.
That said, Webber is still the right pick.

The point of my post is that Minnesota should probably be the permanent host of the B1G tourney, if they're not going to hold it on campus.
Tons of hockey here in the Twin Cities this weekend. Womens' Frozen Four, NCHC, and I think WCHA? If any location can support the B1G, it's the Twin Cities.
