Makes no sense. I have never understood how an offensive player tipping in a basket was made illegal if the ball is in a virtually impossible to determine from most angles imaginary cylinder. Defensive goaltending makes sense. |

wouldn't it make sense to use the 10s for the 10 yard line for the B1G logos. It would really just be adding a "B" to the field. less clutter is better. |

I like coach Carr, he coached a number of great teams and they were so good because of his leadership and I'm thankful for the years he was coach. He did however lack in one area and that was to be aggressive when there was a chance at playing it safe. There was a fear that Hoke would be that same way. I am thoroughly enjoying the guts of the playcall tonight going for it all. |

2008 Utah & 2010 SDSU had 9-4 seasons with a win over Navy in the Poinsettia. That's as close as could be. Back in '08 the jury was out on Whittingham too. |

| 2 years 16 weeks ago | The bigger issue |
The bigger issue is that the arena is outdated. Oiler fans still fill the building to capacity every night even when the team is not competitive in an outdated rink. So are you saying that since Oiler fans have established themselves as a working class and extremely loyal fanbase they should not want a modern arena downtown? This narrow view of yours is ridiculous. Edmonton is a city that will sell out a bigger arena when built and it could use a downtown arena district to revitalize a boring unused downtown core. |

| 2 years 21 weeks ago | Trick plays |
Especially the one other teams do where the qb lines up as a wr. The defense couldn't afford to ignore Robinson like they do almost every qb that lines up out wide. |
| 2 years 21 weeks ago | Denard Robinson |
Soph: 2,570 yards passing, 18TDs, 11 INTs. 1702 yards rushing (6.6 YPC) 14 TD. Michigan had 35 total rushing TD's this year and that team in Ohio in '06 had 25 so they didn't pad Robinson's passing stats near the goal line. So the big differences are Robinson had 5 more INT's and 1498 more rushing yds. which was needed since the team didn't have any RB's that played as well as Pittman did for them that year. |
| 2 years 21 weeks ago | $20M for the whole project |
It sounds like the total cost for Michigan Stadium, Crisler and Yost will be $20M, not just the 2 for the stadium. |
| 2 years 21 weeks ago | This is ridiculous |
I bet one of the things you love about Michigan is the amount of integrity that it has shown over the years, and dealing with internal problems the right way. You cant have this and also demand David Brandon not live up to his word on how he would conduct the search. He treated Rich Rodriguez like a human being and I respect that over getting some big name by sleazy standards. Your Florida CC analogy is stupid. Meyer retired, Rodriguez was not retained. Big Difference. Unfortunately more coaches would rather have the Florida job than the Michigan job right now, I hope that changes soon. |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | To be clear to the original post I want Jim Harbaugh. |
He was my favorite NFL qb growing up. I lived in Chicago while he was a Bear, I loved watching him as a Colt. I still think the Colts were robbed by that play Kordell Stewart was out of bounce and came back in to catch the AFC championship winning TD. I wanted Harbaugh back in 07 when he had won a NC with San Diego. The circus around Harbaugh this month is crazy. I am beginning to think of the other options after Harbaugh. Hoke is someone I think has the potential to overachieve and be a good coach at Michigan. Whoever the next HC is will have to deal with a lot of bs expectations and myths of bs expectations that the local media hold in too lofty idealistic standards. EDIT: I also think the lambasting of Hoke on this board is terrible and could possibly make the job harder than it needs to be if he happens to be hired. We don't need the next coach having similar challenges that handicapped Rodriguez while he was here. It took the wind out of the sails of a good coach and I don't want to see a portion of the fanbase / media create unnecessary obstacles to overcome within the support system of Michigan football. |

| 2 years 28 weeks ago | frustrating |
I have played through 1 season and found that the gameplay was really frustrating. It seemed like some of those older games where only some of the plays work and other just don't work regardless of the situation. Receivers drop passes at a frustrating level. Running the ball with the rb can be pretty easy. I ended up pulling a Wisconsin and abandoned the pass, Mike Shaw had a big season. I doubt I'll ever play a 2nd season. $5 - its debatably worth it. |

| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Tate '09 vs Denard '10 stats are misleading |
Tate was the best QB on the team last year. But through the first four games he was not given the opportunity to play full games. Denard has played all but 3 snaps this year. Tate wasn't given the chance to rack up stats.
I thought the biggest mistake last year was that the coaching staff didn't let Tate stay in games long enough to get offensive timings and rhythms going that could've set up a dynamic conference season. The QB switches of last year didn't lose any of the first 4 games but it certainly didn't help the team going into the rest of their season. We would not be hearing all the same hype and accolades for Denard if he was pulled for the majority of UConn and pieces of ND. I'm glad that the coaches have put their confidence and full games of snaps to Denard this year so far. |

I didn't think it made sense that the QB's wore black jerseys the past couple videos before this one. It only looked slightly different from the blue jerseys worn by the defense. At least the gold/maize for practice is a different color to make them stand out. The black practice unis that the QB's were wearing didn't have the adidas 3 stripes down the side similarly to the gold (they're not adidas / generic). |
| 2 years 51 weeks ago | Filled in endzones with Fieldturf |
Fieldturf is supposed to look like real grass (in most cases). If you look at kinnick or Ohio stadium for recent examples of going with fieldturf and filling the endzones with team colors, the fakeness really comes out. With UM's natural background look the grass appearance remains entact. (Tried to link pictures from phone) http://flickr.com/photos/27699644@N02/2887608367/sizes/m/in/search?q=ohi... |

The old model always bothered me - but I don't have the skill or the patience to build Michigan stadium myself. | 3 years 8 weeks ago | I don't know how much we'll miss DW |
He's talented. But, he never seemed to possess that leadership quality to demand others around him be better. One of the best things about Woodson was that he kept everybody accountable around him. So guys like Ray and Hendricks and Weathers were pushed to play better than there talent level. I don't like that Warren is gone but I'm not really upset either. It seems like T Wolf might possess some of that leadershipto demand of his teammates. And if Warren was being a me first attitude guy (it sometimes seemed that way this year) that his leaving early knowing he doesn't have a chance for 1 st round suggests; the team will be better as a unit who play together. And most importantly as they practice together to make each other better. |
| 3 years 8 weeks ago | similar concerns |
When Roundtree was on the field in the spring game, the ball was going to Roundtree regardless of who the QB was. Stonum did not even get a pass thrown to him, I felt bad for him since he is a Jr and his future is really in flux for being a major contributor for UM or not. Is it simply that Roundtree has the knack for getting open on every play or is it that the QB's see #12 better than the other WR's? |
| 3 years 11 weeks ago | I don't remember praising bunched uniforms |
I don't think it's too much too ask of Adidas to make uniforms that don't rip so easily, while at the same time don't have bunching numbers or some other major quality control issue. I think that uniforms that tear at the seams or in the climacool fabric look sloppy regardless of straight tackle-twill numbers. It's ridiculously short sighted to think it HAS to be one or the other flaw. EDIT: I also believe that Reebok uniforms had more of a bunching issue than Nike did. |
| 3 years 11 weeks ago | Great Technology |
Is it the Climacool part of the jersey that has been ripping on Michigan's jerseys the last two years? I know that Brandon Graham is awesome and a jersey cannot contain him but he always had holes in his jersey. He wasn't the only one. Thanks Adidas, for making Michigan cutting edge jerseys that constantly get holes ripped in them. |

This is great to hear about a good player who is a high character guy. Every news I hear about Craig makes me even more of a fan of his personally. Although he won't get the same national recognition as Florida QB#15, I think we are feeling a very similar feeling in our fanship of Roh that Florida fans felt after Florida QB#15's first year when people began to hear of his Missions work and his team leadership character. I hope our excitement for Craig will see similar successes for Michigan football that happened for Florida the last 3 years highly due to their high character, missions minded team leader. |

It looks like a win is likely. The Canadian Women benefited from a tough semifinal when the US got an easy win over Sweden (not even competitive). I hope this helps momentum and is not a disservice for the gold medal game. With that said. Yes!!!! 4-0 |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Michigan fans |
It seems to me that in part Rosenberg and Snyder had the courage to do this because they know that Michigan fans will do nothing about this. Imagine a dishonest story breaking out in Columbus about OSU, Dallas/Houston about Texas , Jacksonville about UF, Tuscaloosa about Bama. Freep thinks thinks they can write anything even if the aren't truthful. There has to be a repercussion for this from the fans. But because we are Michigan fans and hopefully civilized we need to Ban the Freep as a protest. The other markets would probably resort to violence or nasty threats. We need to hit them in the pocketbook. Take their advertising dollars away. This is how they should pay. Hopefully their first cutbacks on staff would be the notorious writers of fabricated details on a program that has done things the right way, and still does. Its just that other programs are not being witch hunted like UM has just had done to them. |

| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Tate was awesome till he got hurt |
Tate was phenomenal when his shoulder was healthy. WMU game, his first game ever he was great. ND game, Tate's performance was Heroic. EMU game was good in limited time, the team struggled when DR was in. Indiana game he was clutch but got hurt. MSU was the game following his labrum injury. He still willed his team to OT. Tate is going to be our QB and the guy to lead this amazing offence to immense success. We've seen him do it already. He didn't regress as much as just couldn't play how he should because of a hurt throwing shoulder. Healthy Tate is my #1 choice for any QB in the nation. |

Coach Jackson was over the moon about McGuffie, Shaw & Cox. Especially McGuffie. Similar sort of praise to FItz. He said Sam would be one of the best ever. Fitz being faster than Chris Perry would be awesome. Perry's Sr season was a dream. He deserved every bit of that Doak Walker and was great against OSU in the 100th anniversary of The Game. Hopefully he will avoid the immaturity that Perry had in his bouts with Coach Carr. It was painful to watch him as an underclassmen have so much potential wasted sitting on the bench. |

But no Chicago. That is a lame plan. Baltimore and DC are way to close to be considered different areas for a World Cup hosting in America. It was fun watching him play. But at the same time completely frustrating. Not once in 4 years was he a dependable back for more than one game at a time. I have nothing against his effort / attitude. I simply hope that Michigan will have a consistently productive rb again. Which we haven't seen in the last 2 seasons, regardless of "Minor's Rage" which came out in a few games. |
| 3 years 26 weeks ago | Replacement for Minor |
I don't understand the hope to fill Minor's shoes. Minor only had a handful of good games in his career. He never filled Hart's shoes when given the opportunity when mike got hurt. It sounds dumb the way it was said - however don't most coaches call their players by their last name. If so, in this case it would be much easier to call him Vuna - his first name than his very difficult to pronounce last name. Making it not that bad of a comment in theory. A side note - I used to hate Musberger's announcing. He was such an MSU homer, and always had something bad to say about Michigan. In the last 10 years that has changed. He has become more like Mr. Jackson in that you almost feel he is a fan of each team that he announces games of. |

| 3 years 40 weeks ago | perspective |
Growing up in many different places in the US and Canada as well as 3 years in Africa I might have a different perspective. I was born in Detroit and have always been an M fan. My fanship really developed in the late 80's as I began to follow sports in general (I am 30 years old right now). During the late 80's as I began to follow M closely, the rivalry with ND was the most important. Bo vs. Lou Holtz. Rocket. Desmond! Remy! Classic games. The whole season depended on the outcome of that game. I think because the game is early in the year that if both teams are good and history has usually meant that both are, that this game is more important for the outcome of the whole season. Many Ohio State games have been played for "pride." ND game is for hope, momentum, a chance at everything still available. Nothing compares though to the oSU game when championships are on the line. When the ND game is played it almost always gleams with hope. |

| 3 years 50 weeks ago | UM - OSU to low on the list |
Even though OSU has their streak of wins against the good guys, other than last year when Sweater Vest got embarrassed that last year's game was close at half and then ran up the score in the 4th quarter, the games have been competitive. The bad guys just have just had the ability to close out games. This has not taken away from the fierce competitiveness of football's greatest rivalry. To put this rivalry below UF-UT which has been very lopsided in wins and scores or TA&M-TT which has been totally irrelevant (who remembers even one of those games) is ridiculous. |
| 4 years 9 weeks ago | speed is deceptive |
In watching D-Rob's highlights - he was being chased out of bounds or tackled by linebackers in HS. He maybe fast but he is not the most elusive guy that I've seen. I think that changing speeds while running is much more important than being able to run fast. I think that Tate might has a better grasp of changing speeds and the ability to read and follow blockers better than D-Rob. |
| 4 years 9 weeks ago | Hopkins' style |
In watching the video of Hopkins run I thought of two players in recent Michigan history. The first was BJ Askew circa 2002 when he played at HB because Chris Perry was in Lloyd's doghouse. He had a great game against MSU running for 150 in the 49-3 win. The other player I thought of was Anthony Thomas in his style of bull you over but also takes great angles to negate some lack of speed. I know Thomas was a lot higher ranked coming out of HS and came in to contribute as a freshman on the NC team - but Hopkins has a similar style. |
| 4 years 10 weeks ago | That 7-5 season |
Braylon was a rookie in the NFL. Mike Hart was hurt in the ND game at the beginning of the year and was not the same player he was the other three years. Jason Avant was the go to receiver that year, with Steve Breaston not being able to catch anything more than a WR screen or short slant. |
