not on topic, but

but I wanted to post this and discovered I'm not allowed to start a new thread on the forum, which is fine.

Has anyone else noticed that during coach's thoroughly covered "warm up" routine with Speight, he tells Speight to "put your helmet on", ostensibly so he can start smacking the crap out of his head, because furiously beating upon his starting QB's chest is not enough HARBAUGH for even HARBAUGH HIMSELF?

OUR LINEBACKING CREW FOR PRESIDENT 2016 FTW

that's all.

I'll respectfully disagree with one comment you made

the one regarding the defense not making a stop when they had to.  Yes, you did admit the defense played great all game (which they did), but to say they choked when the pressure was on I think is unfair.  We turned the ball over SIX TIMES and gave up one touchdown.  There was an incredible amount of pressure on that defense the entire game because of that, with little-to-no momentum on our side on ND's home turf, and they came away with 13 points when they should have had 30+.  I mean hell, even when we kept vomiting out turnovers on offense I had some hope we'd eek (sp?) out a win just because our D kept stonewalling them and get the ball back for us.

The defense 100% did their job.  There certainly some mistakes (hmmm PI in the redzone = no good) but dude, they did a helluva job considering the circumstances.  I know you didn't mean to imply a whole lot of blame on the D for the loss, but I feel really strongly that the D did a bang up job given the position they kept getting put in.

100% agree.

No doubt Denard's been coached up about taking care of the ball; he just made awful, awful decisions and poor throws.  Coaches can only do so much, at some point it's on the players to put into practice what they get taught and harped on in practice for.

When they were executing the game plan, we drove 60, 70 yards.  We just kept DERPing in the redzone.

Charlie Weis was also at that game (evidence)

In anticipation of this weekend's game, I was watching highlights of UTL '11.  I can't believe this is the first time I noticed this.  Forgive me if people have pointed this out before.  I guess Charlie just wanted to be back in the Big House so badly he'd do it even if it meant running security during the game.

He makes his appearance at about 11:02, as they're getting closer in on everyone mobbing Tree.  You can't really miss him, he looks elated.

Look at AFA's rushing success against ranked teams recently

Hi all, I think this is my first post despite being an mgoblog follower for years.  Here goes:

2011:

vs. #5 Boise State they put down: 264y rushing, RB w/ most carries (RBMC) avg 6ypc

#25 TCU: 249y rushing, RBMC 6.6ypc

2010:

#7 Oklahoma: 351y rushing(!), RBMC 4.4ypc

#8 Utah: 210y rushing, RBMC 4.2ypc

Also, most of those games were within a possesion or two of being wins.

I'm with most in that I have concerns with our D-line, but I don't think this last game is a good game to glean information from.  Air Force does one thing but they execute it really well with undersized guys year after year.  I get the feeling we're in for more nervous diarrhea moments and, I'll say it, even losses that are tough to swallow, but I remain optimistic about where our coaching staff is trying to take this team: outstanding O-lines and defenses teams fear.  GO BLUE!
