EEs are Speight, Canteen, Watson, Mone, Ferns, Cole, Harris. Yes, they can participate in the spring game. With the depth on the lines, it should allow for this to truly be a "game".

Wow, seems strange to think there will be a legitimate 3 deep at each OL position next season. Sure, limited experience, but depth.

Better yet, not only Saban to Texas and Hand to UM, but the domino effect of coaching changes also get Narduzzi out of EL.

Why do people assume MSU will be so heavily favored next season? They lose at least 6 starters on defense along with 60% of their line. You don't think that will make a major difference? Yes, UM will also lose players, but the difference in who loses what certainly leans in our favor.

Wow. Next years offense will have a ton of new starters at skill positions, but then likely return 10 starters for the following season. Two things stand out to me: first, I would not be surprised to see Funchess formally switched to WR. With basically no proven players at WR (though plenty of potential) and much more depth at TE, it just makes sense. He has played much more lined up like a WR this season.

In any game MSU plays, the defense may have the more realistic chance of scoring. I mean that for BOTH teams.

There doesn't appear to be any truly dreadful stretch on there. Maybe a 3 game stretch in mid-Feb that will be tough, but 2 of those are at home.

Not to mention that if Devin has an outstanding season and is getting discussed as a potential 1st or 2nd rounder, he could be gone. I don't think anyone would be excited about the idea of going into next season with Bellomy being the only QB on the roster who has taken gameday snaps.

He can shoot, he can finish, if he has the consistent first step and handles to get from the perimeter to the rim he's gold. I just hope he can hae a consistent year this year. Last year had some crazy games and then some where did he go games.

Woodson's #2 could be a nice jersey for Peppers. As for AC, I wonder if he'll get a patch since #1 is endowed by Braylon. What about Dierdorf's #72 or Huntchinson's #76? I could see Lewan being approached about #72, though #77 certainly has significance as well.

I would be thrilled if Rutgers is constantly bowl elligible and frequently winning 9 games or so in a season, while racking up a bowl victory. I do not, however, want them to pick up a commitment from Minkah Fitzpatrick or beat UM on the field.....like ever.

Out of curiosity, is Brent Morris a candidate to join Bakich's team? As the last man standing in that photo, I did a search and found a Rivals baseball recruiting page that shows him having interest in some ESS EEE SEE programs as a pitcher. My inference is that he's at least decent but I don't know how good. Anyone know this, and if pitching at Michigan is a possibility for him?

I think you're right. A number of the people who have been announcing their retirements started during the Bo years. If Hoke is the next Bo, it only makes sense that a number of new people at the beginning of their 20-30 year Michigan careers come in at this time. They all just have huge shoes to fill.

I was just in theprocess of creating this very same thread. I wonder who they'll try to get to be his replacement. Perhaps Griese? Beckman can be controversial at times when asked about other things, but I've always enjoyed his broadcast work.

7 losses seems about right........for the basketball team. If football loses 7 it would be freaking armageddon. Hard to see how a team that was 8-5 last year drops so much. So many alleged experts seem to know nothing about this team. They look at the fewest returning starters in the B1G and think that's meaningful. Somehow they missed out on the fact that in a number of those positions there will be likely improvement over last year's now-departed starters. But predictions like these are fun since I love seeing so many people be completely wrong while I laugh.

Maybe there's something to that, or maybe those are the most appropriate answers depending on the questions. If he was asked about a darkhorse, I would think the best answer would truly be someone that no one has talked about. But I feel in years past we've heard darkhorse type comments about guys like Jeremy Jackson - and if Chesson is only Jeremy Jackson this year I'll be dissapointed. As for the lines, maybe the comment about youth, particularly on the DL, is more about depth than starters. He talked about how young we were last year on the OL even when all of the starters were 4th or 5th year guys. Having said ALL of that, I, like you, would be thrilled if Chesson is a contributor (because he's that good, not because there's a need due to others not being productive) and if guys like Pipkins and Henry are so good that they can't be kept off the field either. Mattison certainly wants to rotate a lot so that makes a lot of sense.

Recently Bluiett had said it was around 24 schools and he was looking to narrow it to 5-10 around the beginning of August. This is the guy that most thought for sure would have gone to Butler if Jordan had been hired. 4* SF out of Indianapolis.

Porcello has got to be thrilled with this move. When one of your SP is a ground ball specialist, have an elite level defender becomes extremely important.

Pretty sure if I ran it for a day, the number of users would dwindle. I can't even pretend to do half the job Brian and staff do. Also, I would pay myself a great deal of money that day just because I could. And I would make sure I got to keep that press pass the rest of my life.
|20 weeks 2 days ago||I think this roster is||
I think this roster is certainly playoff-worthy at this point. I'm not sure they can make it to the 2nd round, but it's not like there's a player out there they could realistically grab that would get them to that level. The only downside to being a playoff team is that they would have to then deliver the pick in next year's draft to the Bobcats....err...Hornets (part 3?). That is the supposed deepest draft ever. But we also don't know who for sure will declare for that draft. I suppose it's better to build a playoff roster instead banking on a bunch of unkown future possibilities.
|20 weeks 4 days ago||Valverde was good for the||
Valverde was good for the Tigers for one year. Even that year he was the beneficiary of luck. He had more than a couple "Todd Jones" saves the year he was perfect. By that I mean the saves when a guy gets out of a jam when he inherits a 3 run lead and saves it as a one-run game with the go-ahead run on base. Sometimes the numbers you pick don't tell the whole story. Example, Clayton Kershaw has fewer wins than a number of other pitchers in the league but that doesn't mean those pitchers are better. You could easily argue Kershaw is one of the top 3 pitchers in the game. The pitcher that gave up the GS to Peralta yesterday still has a 0.00 ERA because those were unearned runs, but anyone who watched that game saw him walk 2 and give up a moon shot while getting no one out. I was nervous for at least 25 of those 43 saves.

Well, Vasquez ranked as the Tigers #6 prospect. Last time they got a RP named Jose V from the Astros, it went very well for one year. After that, not so much. Hopefully this means Phil Coke is dead to them.
