He's actually just one giant caricature.

This just in — the NCAA is taking surprisingly swift action to pursue sanctions against the students who took Urban’s ethics class. Their grades will be replaced with an asterisk and the governing body will not recognize that the students ever attended his class.

I love how Dickinson only…

I love how Dickinson only goes up two rungs on the ladder.  Everyone else needs to go twice as high. hah!

It’s interesting. Might I…

It’s interesting. Might I suggest an additional status that could realize some benefit — those that left early for the NFL.

Something I hear quite a bit (albeit anecdotal) is how many players from other top-tier programs stick around for additional years. Aiden Hutchinson is one of the few that come to mind (recency bias) that could have gone pro, but decided to stay for the extra year of eligibility.

Huge fan of the Alec Bradley Presnados. You can get them online for under 10-15 per stick.

For a more mild smoke, I’m all about the Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park. Real nice mid-week smoke.

MAARs Pink Shoes

Didn't help with the whole tourney.

Fab Five

Grew up in NY and fell in love with Michigan because of the Fab Five.

Completely Agree

Completely agree -- I wish we would talk more about this.  I seem to recall from the end of Harbaugh's tenure at SF that the play calling between him and Roman was especially problematic and at times glacial (causing delay of game calls).

During last night's game, Oklahoma's head coach called the entire game and pushed Georgia's top-ranked defense to it's limits.  It was apparent that the speed of play-calling was impacting Georgia's ability to line up/change personnel at times.  Of course, having a 5th year senior (Mayfield) execute quickly is important, but sometimes we need a little bit of tempo.

I understand Harbaugh has almost always done his play-calling this way, but it really seems like it could lead to some choppy and non-sequitor drives.  Hence, the first 4 games of the season in the red-zone.

. So let me get this straight: We either have sam's gut or his blue balls. Correct? But his gut outweighs his balls. Seems like a natural progression in life. That being said, I hear Cialis helps.
I agree with the general sentiment

Agreed that it's mostly bad.

Although, is it possible that there's a silver lining?  Maybe the trolls on this board will better allocate their bandwidth and go elsewhere?

3 qbs Start all the qbs and do the Princeton offense?
But isn't he...

But isn't he..."Moving on up"

Different Kinds of QBs

Firstly, I'll preface by saying that I do feel bad for Peters.  That being said,  I know it's cliche, but Harbaugh is trying to build competition to make everyone better.  A true meritocracy.

Secondly, Speight and Peters aren't that different of QBs.  I know it's an over-generalization, but they stand in the pocket, and use their arm to make accurate throws.

Recently, it seems that Harbaugh is moving toward recruiting more "mobile" QBs.  Perhaps Harbaugh is realizing the flexibility that a "mobile" QB can offer in an offense with glaring weaknesses (i.e. RT).

Frey

Isn't it Frey's MO to take athletic TEs that have a good frame and turn them into tackles?  I suspect our recruiting will be TE heavy as long as Frey is here.

Good and a bad thing.  The model necessitates time to develop the players -- but the need is very real right now.

Excited at the Name

Anyone else excited because:

1.  We haven't had a true shot blocker in the Beilein era

2. If he develops into a great defender, the Castle memes will be endless

Another Detroiter here

I certainly apprecaite the thread, OP.

That being said, PLEASE ensure said bar will also turn the sound on for the game.  Can't stress enough how crappy it is to go to a bar and the bar refuses to turn on the sound.

I think McShane's was the de facto for the group we're both a part of because they are great about turning on the sound.

Two Cigars:

"Just ran across" Right, OP. I'm sure you just "ran across" this site. I'm sure you're not the mod, or the owner of the site... ...but if you are, it's freaking awesome.
McDoooooom Anyone else want to see mcdoom be a returner? Plus an epic chant every time he goes back to receieve
6 more days

He's got 6 days to declare.  I hope he sticks around to play safety for us.

Put Gay or another multi-faceted athlete in the viper spot and let Peppers hone his craft at his projected NFL spot.

Missed out on 40k Didn't win the bonus round. Likely because the letter landed on "S" and not "M" for the prize.
$13,020 And on to the bonus round!
This isn't OT He's one of us. It's almost like I'm watching a relative on TV.

Dilemma Farrow or Gurley? Is Gordon for sure out his weekend? Feel like I can take 6-7 pts tonight or have Gordon play and really kill all hopes of a championship.
Also, Clemson AD on it? Ugh. Also, Clemson AD on it? Ugh. We need some influence on this committee.
Never given a look Never given the CFP committee a look, but given Barry Alvarez being on the committee, I'm a bit unsure of our chances. Granted, doesn't Rice have a relationship with Harbaugh given Stanford days? I wish Lloyd were still on it... http://www.collegefootballplayoff.com/selection-committee
Sam Webb's Diet

Anyone know what Sam Webb eats?  I need to figure out how to get his gut.

Econ 401

Econ 401 -- had nightmares about retaking the final.  Nothing quite like calculus based microeconomics.

I say we go all Princeton on

I say we go all Princeton on folks and play 3 qbs.

Date of the camp

I'd love to see Harbaugh change the day of his camp.  See if Saban follows suit.

But isn't this the same as But isn't this the same as Harbaugh endorsing Judith Sheindlin for SCOTUS?

Well he was also fined

He was fined 100,000 Swiss Francs which probably doesn't mean much...unless he's paid in Uruguayan Pesos....

...which actually is 2,554,936.54 pesos.  So let's hope he's paid in pesos.

It's okay for you to like the script ohio...

...partially because Michigan created the script Ohio.

“Ted Boehm, OSU marching band member in 1935 and 1936, and considered an “authority” on Script Ohio, wrote that indeed, Michigan had performed the first Ohio in script.”

There's no Jinx

Not sure why people didn't realize this in the first place, but it's all about how we distribute our good luck.

We obviously used up all our "good karma" early in 2013.  For example, starting at the beginning of the year, we had an allotment of 100% and used probably 80% on basketball.  Seriously, 25% of it was probably used on Trey's shot against Kansas alone.

We just need to better allocate this mojo more equally.  Spread it out evenly.

Few things:

I got my student tickets past the deadline around July 20th.  I would not be surprised if there is still availability.

Depending on if you were a student at Michigan before, you could just renew your student season tickets.  It should automatically allow you with your username and pass to renew without a new application.

If you're new to the university, contact the mtickets email address.  They probably need to give you a pin to login.  Also, follow the protocol for waitlisted tickets -- they got back to me in under a week.

As both an alumnus and a new grad student, the process was pretty confusing because they have a separate page for alumni season tickets and a separate page for students.  I called in and they said it's a common error.  Best of luck on your tickets, and congrats on law school.

Credentials?

Anyone know where he got his doctorate from?

Practically Speaking

I'm curious as to when refs in basketball are supposed to review plays?  I understand that there are blown calls - we're human.  Isn't that what video review is for?

Honestly, does anyone here know when or how a ref determines that something needs to be reviewed?  In college basketball, it's seems completely arbitrary to me, and it seems like easy low-hanging fruit that officials can address to prevent this from happening again (i.e. coaches challenges).

It all makes sense now. The "bleed out" jersey's, although nearly impossible to look at, was an attempt by Adidas to mimic the color of the sun for Burke. Thank you for helping me fully understand those uniforms.
Now all we have to do...

...is master the pickle roll, and there's no stopping us.

Not sure if "hack" is the right way to describe him...

as he's rather well respected statistician.  He's actually most notably known for projecting all 50 states correctly in the last presidential election.

Lastly, he alludes to using kenpom, so it's not like his numbers are coming from nowhere.  Full breakdown of his pre-tournament analysis here.

The hiring of Brady Hoke...

...and starting a real job.

Nothing is as eye opening as graduating from college and realizing most people just spend most of their work day just surfing the internets.  Fortunately I found a good place to hangout.

As for posting actively, today is my birthday!
