When play changes in…

When play changes in baseball resulted in shorter games and baseball fans pointed out that they prefer more baseball, everyone else celebrated and told baseball fans to shut up because no one likes their stupid sport.

Now that pace of play changes have come to the HOLY GOD OF FOOTBALL, it's a terrible thing.

Wow!  I didn’t see them for…

Wow!  I didn’t see them for the first time until 2003. Completely missed the DJ period. Wasn’t as interested in their older albums for a while, but now I love them. I really enjoyed the remastered version of Nonexistent they released.

Another Living Sacrifice fan?!?  On this blog?  Ugh...but a Buckeye fan.

Still, pleasure to meet you!

Had to go out of my way to log in just so I could neg this stupidity. I’m glad I was able to endure it.

Fun fact: I went to…

Fun fact: I went to undergrad in Kirksville, MO. Kirksville is where osteopathic medicine was founded, so it makes sense the team was called the osteopaths. Aside from that, there’s not much else to Kirksville other than Pam from the office is an alumni of the same undergrad I went to.

Hey!  My creation!  Glad to see it make an appearance here.  *thumbs up*

We live in Michigan near Ann…

We live in Michigan near Ann Arbor and do most of our summer sightseeing in the state, so I know the main attractions.

Depends on how much driving you are willing to do.  Most of the most beautiful parts of the state are a good ways from Ann Arbor.  For the closest location, we enjoy going to the west coast of the state and seeing the Grand Haven/Holland area.  An upside to this is you can stop by Grand Rapids and check out the restaurants/breweries when you do.

As others have mentioned, Traverse City is beautiful.  Kind of an Ann Arbor right on an amazing bay.  I really recommend you visit Sleeping Bear Dunes as well if you head to Traverse City.  It's only about 30-45 minutes away and I would consider it probably the best trip we've taken in Michigan.

Finally, not sure if your kids would be interested, but we enjoy seeing the ships operate around the state.  Port Huron is not far from Ann Arbor and while the town itself isn't much of an attraction, it's a great place to watch to up to 1000 foot ships as they come off Lake Huron and enter the St. Clair River.  We also enjoy heading up to the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie to see the ships lock through there.

Let me know what types of things you like to see and I can try to give you more suggestions.

I haven’t been to a game in several years. I would love to take one of my kids.

For those asking about size,…

For those asking about size, according to the plans I've seen, the dimensions of the new enclosures will be 61' 10" by 179'.  Actual display area is going to be 157' by 54' 10".  The existing enclosures are 62' by 108' with a display area of 47' by 85'.  As with the current scoreboards, the new ones will have a planned service life of 10 years.

The speaker system in the bowl will also be replaced, although the existing audio gear and the back-of-house speaker systems will remain.

Westley: I wasn’t finished…

Westley: I wasn’t finished. The next thing you will lose will be your left eye followed by your right.
Prince Humperdinck: And then my ears, I understand let’s get on with it.
Westley: Wrong! Your ears you keep and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish. Every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, “Dear God! What is that thing,” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

Agreed.  I live in Hamburg Twp near Pinckney and it's a great area.  You have to drive a bit to Brighton/Howell/Ann Arbor to get to any major stores, but the area is beautiful, calm, and has plenty of lakes and other outdoor activities.

Get the minivan.  Once you have it and get over worrying about what others think of you, you will love it.

Also, once you take out the seats and fill it with lumber, you'll feel pretty manly too.

We own a 2013 Chrysler Town…

We own a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country and a 2011 Ford Fusion, so I am definitely not the targeted demographic of this post.

That being said, we tow a travel trailer with our Town and Country and the whole set up is close to the gross combined weight limit.  This has me thinking of either an SUV or a Pickup in the future to replace the Fusion and to take over trailer hauling duties with the intention of getting a bigger trailer in the future.

I love the minivan though.  I think we'll always have one as long as the kids are living with us.  There is truly no better vehicle as a people hauler.

I don’t understand the logic…

I don’t understand the logic behind having surgery to take a properly functioning part of the body and purposely damage it. There’s nothing wrong with you. Why are you having surgery?

Also, if you’re worried about your wife not being able to use birth control, look up the Creighton method or other options for Natural Family Planning. These methods are 98+% effective and don’t require any chemicals, barriers, or surgeries.

...ouch.

Congratulations!  Your life…

Congratulations!  Your life has changed completely!

You will struggle.  You will encounter moments (possibly often!) that you will stare at the ceiling or wall and wonder how you can possibly do this.  You will make it past those moments.  You will find a way and everything will get easier.  Trust me!

And then, when the second child arrives, you will wonder how you ever thought one baby could be tough.

Rich people want to give…

Rich people want to give money to the University. The University wants this money. The rich people giving the money want to make sure that other people know they have the money. There are only so many buildings worth naming after someone.

Solution!  Let’s name people after the rich people!

When I made the purchase…

When I made the purchase back in 2009, I found a lot of good advice on the PriceScope forums. I used what I learned there to pick out what I felt was a very good diamond.

I wound up purchasing a loose stone from Whiteflash and a setting from J Allen.  I then shipped the setting to Whiteflash to have them mount the stone. I felt it was better to ship the setting to the store I was spending more money at than vice versa.  The diamond absolutely sparkles compared to some others I’ve seen in person. I have to believe it’s due to a superior cut. Do your research. You can get a large diamond pretty easily, but I think almost more important than raw size, is the quality of the stone and the cut.

Good luck and God’s blessings on you future marriage!

Several times a year, someone claims Chrysler is getting the axe

I'm not saying there's no smoke to that rumor, but I doubt it's ever been as eminent as the news articles make it out to be.  If you want the latest on what is happening with Chrysler and the rest of MOPAR, check out allpar.com.  Lots of FCA insiders there that can debunk the myths.

Jeepnut1 is my user name. If you see me, throw some love my way so I can get to three stars.
