I work in the Auto Industry and EVERYONE is looking to hire. All the big 3 and lots of suppliers too. While new sales aren't quite back to their pre-recession peak, the US is set to manufacture the most cars domestically since 2002. Engineers I talk to at all 3 of the big 3 have told me directly that their groups are looking for more engineers. Indeed.com has thousands of engineering listings, that's a great job site to use. Good luck. |

My guess is you'll want to wait and see what 2013 Devin Gardner does before prognosticating about 2014 Devin Gardner.... but man am I excited that he got that redshirt. |

The 2 best father's day presents I've gotten my dad are this book:
Gift #2 was my Sophomore year in high school when I took wood shop. I took my dad's bat from when he played high school baseball (an Al Kaline bat) in to the shop and used it as a template to turn him his own bat. Wood-burned his signature into it and everything. He loves that, and it was fun to make as well. |

Just finished the first Bioshock a bit ago. Was crazy (Subs!) just downloaded Fable 3 for free, but I think that may take way too long to play through. I think the only games I've paid full price* for recently are the NCAA Football ones and Halo 4. * b/c I usually get a preorder deal of $5-20 off, or include DLC. |

| 1 week 16 hours ago | I read the whole thread just to see Chicago Stadium |
It was torn down when I was 6, but I remember going to a few Bulls games there and 1 Blackhawks game. During the Anthem at the Hawks' game I remember they put a camera shot of the outside of the building on the jumbotron. We had seats in the upper deck and I thought the building was going to collapse. It shook. it shook on the Jumbotron. The jumbotron itself was shaking. I love the United Center, and Corneilson does an amazing job with the Anthem, but having that memory as a 5-6 year old of Messmer belting out the anthem in the Stadium is something I'm proud to have witnessed. Remember the Roar |

But I totally disagree with Consumer Reports handling of their auto recommendations. I have to stop myself because I guess it does work for most people. But to me a car isn't an appliance. Consumer Reports reviews your car just how they would review your toaster. If a car is an appliance to you (get from point A to point B as simply as possible) then it might work for you. And, I guess that does work for a lot of people. But for me, I find their auto reviews awful. Like I said above, C&D is the place to go for auto advice. |

| 2 weeks 1 day ago | Interesting ideas |
First, I'll agree that the lines are quite blurred between "Foreign" and "Domestic" at this point. Again, I work for a worldwide auto supplier so I see lots of it firsthand. That said, when it comes to quality, all I will say is do your research and drive multiple vehicles. Most preconceptions aren't valid anymore. I'd say that the new wave of Ford/GM/Chrysler vehicles are up to par with most of the competition, especially for the price. I personally drive a German car (when I bought 4 doors and 3 pedal configurations didn't exist elsewhere) and will probably buy another when it's time, but not without doign lots of research and spending time in vehicle. If you're thinking Camry, drive a Mazda 6, Fusion, and Malibu. See what works for you, what you like, and your budget. |

| 2 weeks 1 day ago | Best places to research |
I work for an Auto Supplier and my favorite place for vehicle research is Car and Driver. They're Ann Arbor based, but they also have a great buyers' guide: http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/ For used cars, depending on your budget etc I can make recommendations, but if you're looking for more kids, don't hate on minivans. They may not be sexy, but they're amazingly practical and if you're like 96% of SUV buyers, a minivan will have all the capability you need. |

Kudos to Heiko for sure. What strikes me is just how cerebral Borges seems. I couldn't have told you that the OSU game and the Iowa game had the same gameplan. I was at the Iowa game. It was awesome [Aside, Borges called them "Ohio State". Alert Brady] His philosophy reminds me a lot of Greg Maddux, in that he uses one play to set up the next one. Maddux would do this with pitches better than anyone. Sure, we hated seeing Vincent Smith get 0 yards up the middle out of the I, but if we ran the throwback screen every time out of the I it would never have worked (it always worked! at least in part because we occasionally ran him up the middle). This was an absolutely great interview Heiko. I learned a lot and really like the way that Borges thinks. |
