100% of the shots you don't take, don't go in - Wayne Gretsky
I also like the "we'll see" story that ended up in Charlie Wilson's War.

I didn't see that he was already playing highschool varsity football.
Kid's huge, in my mind he was Ben Braden Picture - ing a bunch of 5'3" 14 year olds.

As a man who has a sister 3.5 years older than him... we both STILL remember the (great in my mind, less so in hers) day when I was all of a sudden bigger and stronger than her. Typical friendly sibling play fighting turned into me picking her up and tossing her on the couch, she made this face that said "the whole world has changed"... Let his sister know that things don't stay the same!

I mean, that could be positive and negative. I was full height by my freshman year of high school (5'11", hadn't filled out yet, but would) but there has to be at least some concern with this guy peaking "too early" physically. Is he good because he's the only guy who's 6'5"? Once puberty hits the competition will he still be that good? Does he have more room to grow? Or will he hit his physical ceiling before hitting campus?
That said, can't hurt to get the Michigan name in there early... Harbaugh does want an army of big, fast guys.

However, to quote Terrell, he would have given up a testicle to have played with Jay Cutler as his QB. If we're giving Braylon some leeway for having been drafted by the Browns, my Bears' QB ineptitude must be mentioned.

That said, I really miss (not that I was alive for it) Can/Am racing. Lemans is probably my current favorite, although I'd love to race in LeMons someday.
Can/Am's "no rules" birthed some wonders, including McLarens running 8.0L Ford V8s and my favorite race car and butchering of a Latin letter by Germans the "180 V-12" in the Porsche 917. Bolt 2 911 Tubro engines together in the 70s? Aw hell yes.
I'm not partial to any driver, but I'm very interested to see how the Porsche and Audi teams fight this year. Hooray cousins and old feuds!

The big thing, as many have mentioned, is that americans overpay for the data that they use. I think that Google's aim, as in Fiber, is to get more people using MORE data/internet/faster/etc.
Google still makes most of its money from online advertising (thanks Brian!) so the more time spent/web sites visited/etc, the more money google makes. What google wants is more people to use more data, if that happens, they'll make more money. Google can take a loss on providing data and make it up when the data is used. It'll hopefully drive down prices for all cell phone users.

For the basketball, you just really need one, overarching stakeholder who could hype the hell out of it enough to make teams follow suit... the WWL. If ESPN bought in to this, guaranteed marquee matchups, even if they don't know where or when right away, it would happen.

Had a '91 wrangler for 4 years and a '98 for 6. There's room for one in my "dream" garage... where I get more than one vehicle. The jeep was a much better toy than it was a dainly driver. 16MPG is tough to stomach as much as I drive.
The Avatar is the '98, put a new suspension and 32" tires on it. It was a wonderful second car.

I wish the new Wrex came in a hatch. I would have loved to have test driven more than just a Focus ST as competition to the GTI that I got.

You could get a 2015 SS with a manual for a steal. They're selling VERY slowly, I'm sure you could get a deal.

For my life I do need 4 doors and more than a "Frunk". However make mine a Targa in speed yellow or navy and it wouldn't take much arm twisting.
|1 week 5 days ago||Wagons are actually pretty great||
The most popular body style in America (the compact "CUV") is really just a slightly taller station wagon that gets worse gas mileage. Wagons have all the capability of SUVs that 99% of owners use (true offroading is the 1%), while being much better on gas, often much cheaper, and most times even with more interior volume.
Unfortunately Americans seem to like to sit high up in their cars, so SUVs sell way more.

As someone about to be married, no kids, living in the city, my 15 GTI is a pretty great all around'er. That said, I would have loved a Golf R were it not more expensive. So, continuing in that vein, how about a 2016 Audi RS3 with a manual? It's the miniature version of the RS7/M5/E63 Wagon that people like above, good for city dwellers like myself, and I can keep 3 pedals.
Lots of good answers on here

But he didn't fumble the next snap either. If we're talking on-field coaching, I think there needs to be balance. Many on here loved Hoke's cool demeanor - especially contrasted to spittle-flying-purple-Brian-Kelly. There are some players who will respond well to screaming, some who will fold, etc. Knowing how to coach everyone to get the best of their abilities is a valuable skill.
|1 week 6 days ago||Eh...||
I think that a truly great coach coaches each player individually. Some players will respond well to Harbaugh yelling, others would fold. Let's not forget that Hoke's "it's OK" was extremly lauded after Hagerup's big mistake. That was probably exactly what the kid needed at that time.
That said, Brady may have been too far of an "it's OK" coach. I hope Harbaugh's results are better. He sure seems to know when to have a chat and when to have a yell. Hopefully he gets the best out of the players.
(As an aside, I owe you beer. I don't remember if our bet invovled another D. Rose knee surgery or Lebron going to Miami for "Therapy" that definitely didn't involve "showing up out of shape" or "potential alleged steroids*". Howeva, I'll pick a Goose Island 6 pack and get them your way somehow. A bet is a bet. And here's to a great 2nd round that the Bulls win. Found the original thread. I said D Rose would be healthy and you said that LeBron would have crap teammates - that trade was huge. That said, I'll still pay up.

red, 4 cyl, 5 speed manual. half doors and a soft top that would let fine snow through but was mostly watertight. perfect first car. slow, convertible in the summer, 4WD in the winter, no abs or traction control so I had to learn to drive without electronics. the kick parking break meant friends were terrified of the 4 pedal layout and never asked to borrow it!

Playing above the rim means that someone's a high flyer, or that most of their work is done through lobs, etc. Someone like DeAndre Jordan is a high flyer. Gets lots of points on lobs, goes over and through people, dunks, etc.
Playing below the rim is more about their post game, footwork, etc. He's not a freak athlete, but rather his post game at 6' 10" probably features the same post moves that mine does at 5' 11".
