I give you... the Jeep Renegade Sport!

As mentioned, Toyota is very good at what they do - making reliable transportation. My company supplies Toyota (as every major auto supplier supplies everybody. My plant has parts in many Toyotas)
HOWEVA - they make cars for a huge majority of drivers, of which I do not consider myself. For most people a car is a way to get from point A to point B. Toyotas do that wonderfully. Toyotas have next to zero fun and passion (aside from the GT86 and the 4Runner... what Toyota would you describe as "Fun"?) The other thing that is missing for me from Toyota is innovation. Toyota is JUST launching production turbochargers. Up until they put a CVT in the 2016, Corollas still came with a 20 year old 4 speed transmission. Toyota is very conservative by design - it obviously works for them - but it's boring. In commercials they'll say that the Camry is "sporty" and that the Carolla is "great on gas" but they don't back it up with reality. That 4 speed Carolla was getting 34mpg highway while Focuses and Civics were pushing 40+. But hey, they want to sell cars and they do that very well!

I get the money pit issues, but when you said "dream car" and "small child" I was picturing a 2-seat convertible, or soemthing with with rear "seats". A (working) WRX is actually a decent family car! 4WD! Rear Doors! (maybe) a hatchback!
|1 day 6 hours ago||Good to get the early approval||
Just make sure that the fiance doesn't up your life insurance before you buy... early Vipers have a reputation to uphold
|1 day 6 hours ago||How'd that end?||
Have to sell it? What car?!? Did you get it in writing that you can try again someday?
|6 days 5 hours ago||Maybe...||
Thing failed and there were 5 seconds to make a decision - do you need a warning light??
I know in my car when I'm sliding a bit (say in snow) I know I'm sliding, the flashing dashboard is just a distraction.

As I read it, they wouldn't have been able to take off, or at least taken off correctly. They wouldnt have had the right amount of lift to get off the ground straight because the flap wasn't right. It'd be like trying to drive with a brake seized.

We make a very small amount of aircraft product out of the automotive plant I work at. Mostly redundant safety systems (actuator fails, we have the parts that engage to freeze them so that they're not flapping around) but that's a whole different world considering our auto parts are non-safety critical.
It's easy to sleep when your parts critically failing are somewhat a loss of power in a car - not even brakes! But when you're working on an aircraft component? Better get that one right and robust.
(All of what I/we do are right/robust for all you MGoLawyers)

The issue is not the windows, the issue is how they achieved ADA compliance. Pre-renovations there were students all along the glass. Now there are big empty spaces in each corner. The 2nd row seats I had as a student don't exist. It's not that they're now old folks' seats, they're just gone.
Combine the seating changes with the hockey team's decline and the basketball team's success and you have a less exciting hockey venue. I went to one basketball game as a student (05-09) but had season hockey tickets. I couldn't have justified the expense for 3 sports of season tickets, I'm guessing many more of today's students are going Football/Basketball rather than the Football/Hockey I did.

I'll never forget the start of ENG 100 when the professor asked us how many of us thought that 99% was a good grade. We all raised our hands. He then asked how many of us would fly on a plane if they were 99% successful.
Pilots did a great job here in the small case when things didn't work right, but it amazes me how well things work 99.9999999% (or so) of the time and are well engineereed.

I'm just really confused as to when we stopped calling this month "Izzo".
|1 week 22 hours ago||Wilson at the 5||
What game was it in January where Beilein tried Wilson at the 5 and he looked totally lost? That was like, a month ago, right? Now he's playing 40 minutes and beasting up on D.

4.3L V6 and a 4-speed auto? By the time GM dropped the 5.7 (or 5.3?) and a manual in it it was too late.
|1 week 1 day ago||Yep||
I wandered onto an ATV trail accidentally. My then-girlfriend now-wife put on a brave face. She only freaked out at me when I said I wasn't going to get worried until it started getting dark. I think I got stuck around noon.

3 hours later.... yes!
Thanks to the kind gentleman in an older J20 on 5.13 axles and 38" tires.
They say always go wheeling with at least 3 vehicles total. Because if you get stuck, the other 2 can get you out. The one other jeep I was with wasn't going to move me.

How did you play Goldeneye?
(Oh man, I'm old. I remember when the Z button trigger on N64 was revolutionary... I need to get a lawn to tell kids to get off it)

Did Ford give you a hard time about having the Chevy?

Parts trucks are like quarterbacks. If you've got 2, you don't have 1.

We talking some f*ckin' muscle?
|2 weeks 1 day ago||No problem||
Most people don't know not to flood a carb, how to work a choke, what a kick parking brake looks like, what a band is and why you'd have to tighten it, the right amount of blinker fluid to add, or why you "roll" down windows
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Yep!||
Double clutch and match the revs. Timing is everything
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Well, the YJ was new in||
Well, the YJ was new in 1987... and not that "New". Same frame and tub as the CJ7. But that OG Bronco did have a lot of character, I understand the pining for a new one
|2 weeks 1 day ago||An old Bronco||
When I started thinking about my answer, I assumed it was my 91 Jeep. Even the Mazda 626 I tried to drive at 13 was a 1992. The more I thought though, I realized that my hockey coach in high school had me move his Gen I Bronco. I'll call it a 1968. (Similar to pictured, but MUCH less nice)
After I figured out which small puill switch was the headlights, it was just fine. I remember thinking that my 1991 YJ hadn't modernized that much in the 25 years that Jeep had to try to make improvements, considering this Bronco was supposed to compete with the CJ.
