I make this point about awareness above - but women know to get mammograms. How many men know the numbers/risks/etc and actually get prostate exams/colonoscopies?
Baseball has done awareness work on fathers day. As we've said earlier - follow the money. Sex sells, and that means women's breasts > men's butts.

Unfortunately there's a lot of that in a lot of "charity" work. It's always good to be able to look at fine print and see results before donating to any cause.
IIRC the actual pink apparel that the players wore (cleats, wristbands, etc) was auctioned off and all of that money went to the charities - but still.

Report: Less than 10 percent of NFL pink merchandise sales go toward cancer research
|2 days 40 min ago||All show and no Go||
The NFL's (and many other's) pink "breast cancer awareness" campaigns are ridiculous in my mind. Cancer is horrible, I've got survivors in my family, and we should do all we can to cure it... but does any woman with the ability to watch the NFL and means to purchase any pink apparel NOT know to get a mammogram? A ridiculously small amount of money from each pink towel/shirt/whatever sold goes towards charity funding in the NFL's model. It's a huge corporate "Look at how much good we're doing" without doing much of anything.
Case in point - Brandon Marshall's neon cleats getting a fine despite him wearing them to promote mental health awareness. The NFL don't care about anything but a dollar.

Michigan has shown progress, but continues to make mistakes. They're going to have trouble if they make mistakes like this against better competition. That said... there still might not be a really good team on the schedule till November. Baby steps... As BiSB noted - this was not Akron.

IN MY DAY WE DIDN'T NEED NO DAMN AIR SHOWS - THE AIR SHOW WAS ON THE FIELD! IT WAS WANGLER TO CARTER - YOU DIDNT NEED NO DAMN RA/18/ATTACK DOO HICKEYS FLYING ABOVE THE FIELD.
THIS SEEMS LIKE AN OBVIOUS MARKETING GIMMICK TO GET BUTTS IN THE SEATS - AND I DON'T MEAN JAKE. TOUGH IT OUT SON, YOUR KNEE'S GOT OTHER LIGAMENTS. NEXT THING YOU KNOW WE'LL HAVE THE PLANES PARKED NEXT TO THE STADIUM AND YOU CAN GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN WITH THE PLANE AND A NOODLE FOR A DOLLAR
It's too loud near my house that I bought without noticing the 100K seat stadium!
Complaint about combination of military recruitmnet/sports and/or wasted resources be it money/fuel/hippies/etc.
I ran out of sarcasm...

By my count that'll make 6+ NBA Wolverines next year:
Nik, Trey, Tim, Mitch, Glenn, Jamal Crawford, plus Darius Morris may stick this year and Epke Udoh once played here...
Awesome to think that all 5 starters from the Final 4 team are now in the NBA

It's a question of who you want to compare to. The chart has good coaches at our rival schools and main competition. I don't want a coach who is better than the dregs of the B1G, I want a coach who goes toe-to-toe with OSU, MSU and ND (sigh). Other Michigan coaches may be interesting, but Bo was in another time with 105 man rosters, Rich's will just be depressing, and Mo's was too short. Lloyd's would be the only one worth comparing.

Poeple always get surprised that you should use fatty ground beef for burgers - the fat falls through the grill! If you don't get 80/20 you'll just cook all the flavor out of the beef. Save the 95/5 stuff for meatballs, get the cheap ground chuck for good burgers!

First, yet again we see that video evidence is huge for public opinion, just like it was here in the case of a WR punching a rando at Skeeps. Reading "he hit his wife in the elevator" is one thing. People can imagine a confrontation, a love-tap-and-slip, etc. Video bares exactly what happend, no lawyer "hypotheticals" anymore. That said, I thought Bill Simmons did a good job of skewering Goodell before the video came out, much less now that it's public. Goodell doesn't think he's untouchable because he makes $44M/year - he thinks he's untouchable because he makes the owners BILLIONS.
Also, Paul from Toledo GTFO - engineering is something we are awesome at. (BSME 2009)

When I was a camp counselor I had a few campers with gluten intolerance and celiac. While I'm not a big believe in "fad diets" I do think that the recent "gluten fee" wave will help lots of people who need it. Best of luck moving forward and hopefully you can find some good gluten free restaurants soon, I'm sure there's something in Ann Arbor's restaurant scene

I mean, if the shoe fits, play some 46.
Also, the history of the "Superbowl Shuffle" video and song writes is kind of messed up, with agents, producers, etc. That's why it's not on youtube:
Also also, way in for a chicago bears SNL suerpfans/hoke-at-mone's-house-feast mashup.

But yeah, I'm not 100% sure this is what Muschamp did, but these kids probably spent the week on scout team, running stairs, etc. I'm OK with it at this point

|2 weeks 2 days ago||It's not just gameday||
I assume that the whole week went on min-shaming these players too. Sure, the 3 hours of gametime didn't happen, but the 12342424 (approximate) hours of game prep did. These guys didn't run with the 1s in practice for the week, were gameplanned around as being out, were dragged through the media as "suspended" etc. From Muschamp's perspective the suspension (week long, not just the 3 hours of the game) was served. I think I agree with that decision.

Here's the info from mine:
According to twitter Bosch is taking a leave of absence. From Angelique
@Chengelis: Hoke in release says Bosch will be away from team for an "undetermined amount of time... and look forward to his return."
As retweeted by @Sbell021, Bosch's last tweet: Couldnt be prouder having the people family, and teammates that care about me I love em all and couldn't be prouder to be a wolverine
Hope everything is OK with the young man and that he can make his way back soon.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Re: Clark Blitzing||
It could just be that Mattison really likes the idea of 280lb man running full speed at a guard. That part of the play (minus the O call) worked out pretty well. Mattison likes to move and blitz his defensive freaks - he did it here with Mike Martin and with the Ravens and Haloti Ngata too. I don't doubt that it's something he'll do in the future, although it seems to me that we might be even better suited to having Clark on the line with Ryan in the blitz role - I think this is a changeup that we'll do occasionally.
Also I'm in for Ryan being "standup end/Sam" and having Clark replace Beyer in future 30-slide packages.
