Has got a little Al Bundy in him (6 TDs, one game!) and drew a decent wolverbear. Kingston Davis's wolverine could use some work, as could most of the guys. This was cool.

Can he put it through the big sticks, mate?
|2 days 5 hours ago||He's right||
We supply parts that end up in the F-150. The best way to have a shitstorm come your way is to threaten the F-150 line.
|2 days 5 hours ago||And I thought I drive a lot||
It's well known that the 1 thing Corvette drivers brag about more than any other is the gas mileage they get.
I take pride in beating my car's EPA ratings myself too... I can get 36-38MPG if I try on the GTI
|2 days 5 hours ago||Yup||
The Camry is the most "American" NASCAR
|2 days 5 hours ago||Eh||
My dad has a 2011 A4, 70K, no issues. Anecdotes are just that.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Hmmm||
Clutch - what'll it cost to fix? That could answer you right there. If it's as much or more than the value of your car, dump the car
Gas mileage - check your tire pressure.
Those are the quick/cheap things to look into first.

Fun fact, Jags and Rovers have long had terrible reliability. So Jaguar came out with this great new warranty plan to try to assuage those fears. Land Rover don't care, they just keep selling.

For example, Porsche claims there will never be a self driving porsche!
Not that I can afford one...

Think about how dumb the average person is. Then realize 50% of people are dumber.
And yes, people brought their cars in. And yes, the dealer's "fix" was to replace the glass.
|2 days 6 hours ago||Eh||
Unless you're buying a pickup truck that's very hard to do. I work for a global auto supplier (based in Michigan) and everybody buys from everybody, sells from everybody, and builds everywhere. I was debating about a VW GTI or a Ford Focus. Can you tell me which was designed in Germany, had an engine from England, a transmission from Germany, and final assembly in Mexico? The Focus! (The GTI engine is from Mexico, otherwise they're the same).
My plant outside Chicago has content in all kinds of vehicles, both "foreign" and "Domestic".

But "winter blend" is a real thing, at least in most of the country. Winter blend is formulated to provide better cold starts, but you'll get a little less power and mileage out of it compared to summer blend. It's also typically cheaper to produce, and that (in theory) follows to the pump.
|2 days 7 hours ago||For real||
There's a gas station near my office that still does the +$.10 midgrade +$.10 premium. I go there all the time. It's great.
|2 days 7 hours ago||Hope they can fix it||
So, fun (somewhat related) story from Freshman Engineering at Michigan. We had 3 engineers come back to talk to the class, one of whom worked for one of the Big 3. His big thing was power window motors. He said that they had been getting tons of recalls for passenger window glass. Dealers would replace the glass, and it would sometimes fix the problem. The problem was that when people went to roll both windows down, they'd push two buttons in the driver's seat and the driver's side window would finish first. Of course there was a problem with the glass on the passenger side leading to this issue. What really happened is that there was more wire for the signal to go through to reach the far door. So it was slower. The big fix? cutting equal length wires and having a bunch of wasted wire sitting in the driver's door which made the windows go the same speed.
|2 days 7 hours ago||Many people agree with you||
It won't be long before you won't be able to buy a nice car that you can drive (as opposed to have drive you around).
There was a great writeup on Jalopnik about the glorious "analog" cars of the 90s, it was about the Honda Prelude.
|2 days 7 hours ago||I'm all for Big Oil losing money||
As I've heard it the issue with the overall cost/benefit to the US economy is the oil field workers/job losses here at home due to cheaper oil. So, there isn't just lots of extra spending money for everyone.
However based on the product mix in my plant I sure am glad that you all bought pickup trucks last year!

So, I'm on the record that I'm terrified of CTE, and that I think the NHL should ban fighting. HOWEVA - if you want to get your 2010 on, watch John Scott beat the crap out of Kevin Westgarth. Scott was pissed that he had to fight because, with the blowout, he was just starting to get some real ice time.

I'd just like to point out that the official M Football Tweet didn't just say "Famous Wrestler" but "16 Time WORLD CHAMPION".
I mean... Harbaugh totally thinks wrestling is real, right?
|1 week 2 days ago||Great read||
The NHL execs are the dumbest group around. I'm half tempted to believe that Bettman was a plant from David Stern to cripple the NBA's rival.
|1 week 2 days ago||Hahaha||
These were very well done, but c'mon guys, none of you were able to score in Mom's basement?
/old blogger joke, I actually liked the writeups

But there's a speed limit on I-94, and special equipment that kids use to ride in cars, until they're a certain size. And Kids aren't trusted to drive cars until they're 16...
Driving is dangerous, and we've done lots to try to make it less so.

looks like they banned that in 1885
