If anyone wants to put…

If anyone wants to put together a highlight reel of the MGOPodcast highlights, I will watch and upvote!  I've been watching some of them - the ones I can find quickly.  My memory is not good enough to remember many tbh.

Thanks Jim.  Maybe you see…

Thanks Jim.  Maybe you see you again in a few years.

Memory unlocked!

No betamax here, but MY dad had Laserdisc and CDi!  I played some western shooting game called Mad Dog Mcree on it and watched top gun.  Those were the days.

Michigan has an extremely…

Michigan has an extremely high contract on the table.  It has the university president, AD and regents telling Harbaugh he's wanted.  I suggest people write directly to Harbaugh and tell him they hope he stays as Michigan coach forever, and cement his legacy in the same stratosphere as Bo, maybe beyond.  Tell him maybe one day they will name the field Harbaugh Field.

However, if Harbaugh leaves, it's not for lack of love from Michigan.

Please post if you do it!

A UCLA season ticket holder…

A UCLA season ticket holder told me to take the shuttle both ways.  The way back was maybe a mistake.  I tried not to notice how long it was in line but must have been an hour+ just in line.

Did anyone park on the golf course.  5 deep sounded bad to me, but in hindsight was probably faster than the shuttle and you just chill in your car instead of feeling like a steer in a corral.

Suites look a lot less fun…

Suites look a lot less fun than the north end zone was with all the extended Michigan family I met on Monday.

Watched it from the stands…

Watched it from the stands yesterday and just watching it on tv for the first time now.  It was electric in the stadium, the pagentry, the elation with thousands of Michigan brethren, the fireworks, the bands, the death machine flyover... but if you want to see the action there is no substitute for these incredible TV broadcasts.

My guess is 65/35 split in the Rose Bowl.  Michigan basketball fans owned Staples Center for sweet 16 / elite 8 in 2018.  We love LA (except when we play USC, then our turnout is garbage).

Why the Ace hate?  As I recall he left due to a disability.

Gotta keep me entertained…

Gotta keep me entertained during the 4.5hrs I'm sitting around in the stadium on game day.  My mind won't distract itself from the pain in my rear!  I, for one, welcome the fancy light flashy mind balm.

Don't be so sure that…

Don't be so sure that popular things stay popular forever.  people used to watch chariot racing.  Even regular horse racing is less popular than in the past.  Some similarities with football too (concerns about health of the contestant).

My wife got me a Franz…

My wife got me a Franz Wagner cameo appearance for my bday last year.  It was a lot of fun.  Fun gift and supports Michigan family, I'm a fan.  I, too, am not familiar with the economics, but Michigan should probably set up a Michigan-specific platform for athletes and others, and pass along more of the dollars to the performers.  Seems like there is enough critical mass at Michigan to do it.

LA wolverine here.  Saving…

LA wolverine here.  Saving all monies and revolving credit for a NC ticket, if we get there.  If we get there, Michigan will be well-represented at SoFi, like 2018 sweet 16/ elite 8 at Staples Center.  Those were basically home games. Wagner and other players commented on it, as did Beilein. Love the socal Wolverine nation. Go Blue!

Well done.  Love it.  I have…

Well done.  Love it.  I have but one suggestion: coach wears cleats not boots, although maybe you are outside the US given the "mates" greeting :)

On a somewhat unrelated note…

On a somewhat unrelated note, how do people plan to transfer tickets bought on Michigan alumni exchange or via boards.  I love the idea of buying and selling directly with Michigan fans but worry about getting scammed in either directions.  I guess you could try and vet with umich email/ directory/ LinkedIn etc and eventually get pretty confident you are dealing with a good Michigan human but who knows....

Any advice?

Cheer bloody loud, mates.

Cheer bloody loud, mates.

With your cheers and some solid play from the team, bob's your uncle we'll have a win and you'll be chuffed!

I love when Michigan represents outside the state - hopefully we do today.

Then we are not Kentucky.  You are welcome.

So sad.

I am supposed to fly to Charlottesville for the football game and to watch my UVA-grad wife enjoy reminiscing on The Lawn.  I wonder if the team will elect to cancel.  Coastal Carolina probably didn't seem like a big game at the beginning of the year but they are now ranked and I bet many on the team were looking for a win/ silver lining to a tough season.  Such a tragedy for these players.

Lol!  These essays are…

Lol!  These essays are hilarious and the topics hit far too close to home for comfort.  Well done.  Enjoy the season!

Only problem for me is all…

Only problem for me is all the basketball (and a few football games but hopefully not Michigan) on Peacock.  Can't time shift/ start games late on Peacock as far as I can tell and I like to enjoy every minute of Michigan sports but on my own time.  Oh well, had a pretty nice run with media technology the past decade or so.

Any chance you can just send me your bracket so I can enter my buddy's pool and stop his hounding text messages?  I do not have time to do my own work this year.  Will send you 10% of winnings :)

I'm slightly hesitant to…

I'm slightly hesitant to post this here, but I kind of just hope only fans read this far into the comments...

While I thought she was a good president of Michigan, I know for a fact that Mary Sue Coleman thought Michigan paid Jim Harbaugh too much and that she was very skeptical about the hire.  She's a great choice for the interim president spot but I really hope she stays out of Jim's negotiation and NIL stuff.  It's possible the last 7 years have changed her mind, but in any case the man loves Michigan and (I believe) will always try to do what's best for the kids he coaches and the university's reputation.

Why do you think Ace's…

Why do you think Ace's situation was nonsense?

To be fair, OSU fans don't…

To be fair, OSU fans don't often make it out of the state of Ohio.  Michigan had home games at Staples Center for 2018 sweet 16 and elite 8.  Michigan alums have a massive presence in all the major U.S. cities.  When Michigan makes the CFP in the LA NFL stadium, it will be another home game.

Ross BBA/ Wharton MBA here. …

Ross BBA/ Wharton MBA here.  I don't know exactly how remote courses will work, but I would probably defer if it were my decision.

Most core MBA class topics can be studied at nominal or no cash cost (particularly accounting, finance, statistics, microecon - just buy CFA level 1 study books.).  A lot of the  value of an MBA comesr from meeting people and being there in the flow.  Executive MBA is a little bit of a different beast, I presume, but I still think getting to know colleagues I'd a huge part of it.

There is surprisingly little…

There is surprisingly little criticism of Harbaugh and he is paid more money than god.

I don't think a little endorsement will change anything for players.

No one cares about other people's money.

Abolishing college sports…

Abolishing college sports seems a little nuts.  It's part of school like all extra-curricular activities are.  Performing and fine arts, community service, sports, travel, etc are all part of the college experience, as they are in high school.

It just so happens that people will pay a lot of money to watch participants of one category and not as much for the others (it does often cost something to view performing arts!).  As long as sports are entertaining there will be money involved.

Can I play football?

Haha, enjoyed a lot of these…

Haha, enjoyed a lot of these comments - thanks.  The commentary gave me a good feel for the environment around the stadium.  Since I've never been to GB, it was helpful.

To satiate the inquiring minds:

1)  Rented a minivan so there is no trunk.  Golf trip with 8 dudes (yes, we have multiple vehicles), need space.

2)  Almost everyone I know who has a car in SF has had a window smashed at some point.

3)  I'd definitely pay extra for a secure location, but I'm not sure that there is a correlation between price and security.  Someone's house might be a less-viewed spot than a pricier spot in a stadium lot, for instance.

Everything else in college…

Everything else in college sports is professionalized (except paying players) so bball refs should be professionalized too.  The sport is too big and too lucrative for these guys to have day jobs.

I have a hard time believing that story - is it possible coach Kelly really let his grad assistants think they were invited to a party instead of to park cars!?  Insanity if so.

The next question is, did you play North?

If you have to issue a press release like this, the hire should not have been made.  Embarrassing.

Home and home with UCLA is…

Home and home with UCLA is interesting at least.

I'm bored already.

I'm bored already.

We cancelled interesting home and home matchups and scheduled this garbage, all for the sake of trying to make a low-probability 4-team playoff.  Combined with less-than-exciting games like Rutgers and Maryland, the regular season is almost completely sacrificed for a shot of making a playoff.  While smart people can disagree on this, it's not a great tradeoff to me.  I realize Michigan is responding to incentives so it's not totally on our AD, but these games reiterate the long, slow slide of college football into the land of unwatchable and i-don't-care.

For the past 15 years I have made Michigan football games an absolute priority, scheduling everything around them.  I just had my first child so my priorities in life are starting to shift.  I can now say with virtual certainty that I won't even bother recording these games.  We'll be on the golf course.

Hmm, but was this "Alabama"…

Hmm, but was this "Alabama" team any good?  Never heard of 'em.

How many people were in the…

How many people were in the Big House for Michigan's outdoor game(s)?  That great was a bit painful to watch on TV.  No one anywhere close to the ice aside from staff, 75% empty stadium, strange lighting, delayed start due to good weather in South Bend.  Did not seem enjoyable for anyone.

Go Blue, make the tourny!
