I remember hearing Trevor Pryce got kicked off the team for blowing up a toilet with fireworks or something like that? Mundy was a super hyped S along with Shazor, didn't quite live up to the hype, transferred to WV and played in the NFL for a long time I think.
I mean he had a slightly better defense statistically than the Lions (points per drive, yards per drive) and I would definitely say less talent. Waaaay worse offense of course.
Can we make Warinner offensive line coach please? I remember everyone thought Ohio State was going to have a tire fire of an OL the year Urban got there but they ended up being great and it looks like he was their OL coach.

Maybe those sprint out throw back screen's Borges ran from time to time.
Ah I still vividly remember watching Michigan kill Minnesota in 97 in Grand Rapids. We had the Minnesota goalie frazzled pretty good, a couple friends and I (annoying little kids heckling him unmercifully all game). Then watching Michigan beat ND at Yost the next year with my dad. That was a geat game and great year for Michigan sports.
Didn't follow close since then but those were good times.

Always wondered why coaches kept feeding Toussaint 25 times a game and nobody else when he was giving us nothing and you had Rawls who had a couple really slick runs the first game then got nothing after that.
The 2010 defense was terrible game in and game out. Last years O was pretty good for chunks of the year. I'm not sure what my point is I'm just hoping a lot of guys in both units can show some kind of improvement year to year and the coaches can put them in positions to take advantage. Defense needs to get some stops when it counts at the end of halfs and games, offense needs to block and be smart in the red zone, coaches need to not look like deers in headlights and figure out how to improve and get the most out of the players.
I'm really upset that coaches and other people actually think Gardner is on a short leash. Dude is easilly the most dynamic playmaker we have and was our whole offense last year, not to mention a warrior. Yea he had 11 picks but he also had 30+ TDs and was second in the Big Ten in pass efficiencey despite being saddled with god awful protection, a running game that was killing drives on first down and screwy scemes virtually every week. We put in Morris . . . ugh, I don't even want to think about it.
If we couldn't cobble together an at least servicable line last year with two solid senior tackles then I can't even imagine how bad it could be next year.

Lack of improvement as the season went on in any area, simple mental errors and just lack of awareness from both players and coaches. It was a hard thing to watch and be optimistic about anything going forward.
I love Fitz and have been a big supporter, 2011 he looked like the best back we have had in a long while. But honestly, the last 2 years he hasn't really given us anything. I don't know if it was the suspention did some mental stuff or some injuries but he hasn't looked the same even taking into account the terrible O lines we have had.
It was kinda driving me mad that the coaches have been using him exclusively this year at runningback. I think he was second in the big ten in carries before this week and had 5 times as many carries as all our other running backs combined. Especially strange considering he is coming off a major injury, has taken a beating and doesn't really fit what we are trying to do with the zone stretch.
We really should have been doing a committee all year, I think it would have really helped the running game in a few of those games. I mean has Rawls been hurt? He looked like our best back the first game. Were the freshmen that unprepared? They seemed fine today.

Just get your best guys on the field be it tackles playing guard, true freshmen, walk-ons whatever. But coaches also need to give them help by keeping the defense honest and not getting in in 2nd and 12s and 3rd and 9s with crappy no win plays.

And yea Indiana's running backs gashed Penn State for about 6 or 7 yards a carry where as we got swolowed up in the backfield about 30 or so times on zone stretch runs.

The rest of the nicklebacks, especially Avery and Lewis, seem like they have kinda struggled on the outside and haven't been making any plays.
I have resigned to the fact after 4 games of atrocious blocking all around that the coaches won't even try anything different and we will continue to lead the nation in 2nd and 12s. Gardner will continue taking lots of hits in the pocket, running for his life making mistakes trying to pick up 3rd and longs. :(

Even Lewan and Schofield have been getting blown by a few times a game. It's maddening that they haven't given some of the other guys like Bryant, Braden, Burzynski etc any play.
I would have thought they would have made some changes after they looked so bad in the first game but here we are 3 games later and still no changes. Honestly Bryant looked like our best linemen when he got in against Central. He really had the dominant strength and agressiveness our other linemen don't have and wasn't missing blocks and having blatant mental errors every other play like Glasgow and especially Kalis and Miller are doing left and right. Also doesn't help our Fullbacks and TEs are lost more times than not.
Sad thing is I don't know what we can do to win. Offense can't even complete a pass or get more than one yard running, defense is getting gashed left and right, special teams is a disaster etc. etc.
We just don't have the ability to do anything right. Uconn looks like the more talented team.

That's unfortunate. I rember the few oklahoma drill clips from early spring practice and thinking he looked very impressive.

-Why is Toussaint still getting 100% of the snaps? He gives us nothing and is a liability blocking.
