For the past six years the Michigan basketball program has had more success than all those programs but Villanova.

All the tweets above are

All the tweets above are cherry picked to give the worst impression possible. You're all absurdly overreacting. Beilein said he does not expect another transfer but wouldn't surprised be at anything. That's a normal comment for a coach to make at anytime. Thus far we've had three transfers this offseason. You know the last time Michigan had three transfers? Right before our trip to the national championship. Ricky Doyle was going to get practically no minutes next year. Spike saw that he'd have limited playing time and reasonably wants to start in his final year of basketball probably ever. Dawkins went to play for his Dad on team where he'll get significantly more minutes. These transfer will have very limited impact on the team next season. Relax.

Calling him a sociopath is

Calling him a sociopath is absurd and outlandish. People jump to use that word way too much these days to decribe to someone's behavior they disagree with. In what ways did he show a complete lack of empathy for eveyone around him and decide to emotionally manipulate/hurt others for personal gain? Yes he did things that were wrong and selfish but that does not make him a sociopath. It makes him human. Rich people were getting richer off of his talents. That's a hard thing to swallow. Expecially for a college aged kid who didn't come from much. He could have handled the situation better both then and now but a lot of other people have made those same mistakes. There's a whole lot worse things you can do than what he has done.  You don't need to personally attack the guy with slander like that.

I agree with most of you're

I agree with most of you're saying but it's even more than that. I would also add that we have a much better history/tradition and a much larger nationwide fan base.  Michigan is always relevent because our huge fanbase gurantees more television exposure and coverage by the both local and national media. There's a lot higher potential at Michigan especially due to our recent recruiting classes. Talent breeds more talent. Those are also huge factors in recruiting.

Couldn't win in Miami?! He's

Couldn't win in Miami?! He's won two championships and went to four straight finals (something that only two other teams have ever done). If a Michigan player had accomplished that in any of our major sports we would hail him as the greatest Wolverine ever. The notion that he isn't clutch is absurd. He's had some of the best elimination games in NBA history. How can you hate a guy for returning home to bring a championship to a city that hasn't seen one in 50 years?

This will be an extremely

This will be an extremely interesting team to watch. People seem way to set in their predictions, especially the pessimistic ones. This is by far the most talent/depth/experience Michigan has had on their roster since the Carr years. I think the people on this board attacking Mattison are off base and completely ignoring the dramatic transformation the defense experienced in his first season. Last season the defense was flawed but kept us in the vast majority of games despite having the most inconsistent offense in the entire country(I'll admit they were horrible against Indiana and Ohio St). He did this while the players he has recruited remained underclassman. That will change this year. Based on his history everything indicates that Nussmeier will at least bring about a more consistent offense that won't lead to constant 3 and outs. We no longer have to experince the horrible gameplans of Al Borges that have cost us multiple games during Hoke's tenure. The biggest challenge Michigan faces this year is that our three toughest oppenents are on the road. But luckily other than that our other games are very winnable. I think 9-3 is the most likely outcome but both 8-4 and 10-2 could also easily happen.

Are you serious? Your points

Are you serious? Your points about basketball make zero sense. We were in the national championship the season before last and were a few plays away from winning it. This year we made the Elite 8 and lost an extremely close game to a team who was on one of the best runs in NCAA tournament history. Jordan Morgan was not a medicore big man. He was one of the best defensive players in the Big Ten last season. This year our big men are going to be very young but also were pretty highly rated recruits who will turn into solid players because we have one of the best staffs at development in NCAA.

Another troll. They travel

Another troll. They travel alone because they are assholes who have no friends...

I'm a book reader who loved

I'm a book reader who loved the episode and completely understand the changes. The problem I have with fellow book readers complaining about changes is that they often neglect that the changes are necesary because of the change in medium. Tysha is important to Tyrion's inner dialouge within the book, something that is practically impossible to show in a television series. If she was brought into the picture it would have only been out of fan service to book readers and wouldn't have made narrative sense within the structure of the series. She's hasn't been mentioned since the first season and there wasn't really any other time it would have made sense to bring it back up. They adjusted Shae's character to make her more important to Tyrion to make up for the lack of inner dialouge without Tysha. I understand that it can be frustrating to have things be different than the books that you love but that's why it's called an adaptation.

An improved PSU? This is

An improved PSU? This is likely the year they will be hit hardest by the NCAA sanctions and lost their coach to the NFL. Franklin has proven himself a great recruiter but has never had close to as much pressure from the fans as he will this year.

Playing at Northwestern is

Playing at Northwestern is more of a neutral field game than a road game. It will be the same thing with Rutgers. There are a lot more passionate Michigan football fans in the NYC area than passionate Rutgers fans.

Love this analysis

I completely agree that people are being way too pesimistic about next year's bball squad. Beilein has proven himself to be one of best coaches in the country and we have a lot of talent coming back in the backcourt. Obviously there will be some issues to overcome. Interior defense and rebounding won't be nearly as strong with the loss of Jordan Morgan. We're weaker at the 4 and 5. However we're also more versatile at those positions than we've ever been. Michigan will have 5 guys on the court at the same time who can hit 3s. Even with the loss the Stauskus this will probably be the best shooting team Michigan has ever had. One important area that a lot of people are ignoring is perimeter defense. This team should be much better than last year's at preventing guards from driving to the paint. That was proabably our biggest weakness this year. If Walton and Irvin improve at the rate we've come to expect under Beilein than our backcourt will be much stronger on offense and defense. Levert will be one of the best players in the NCAA next year (projected as a top 5 pick) and he's surrounded by an immenseily talented supporting cast. Michigan will compete for a Big Ten Title and make a deep run into the tourney.

Not really true. Casting

Not really true. Casting older applies to practically all Hollywood productions, not just overtly sexual shows like Game of Thrones. It's more for acting reasons than anything else. Younger actors are less polished and it's much easier to play an age you've already lived through then play someone of an older age. On another note. Great Epsiode. Game of Thrones is excellent every week.

According to this chart GRIII

According to this chart GRIII is not as bad on defense as everyone claims he is. The numbers show that he is the best defender on this team (not including the big men) and it's not even close. This chart might not be perfect but considering people on this site supossedly cite fact over perception everyone should tread a little more carefully when talking about GRIII. I think his lack of offense production for the majoirty of the season (until this latest strech in which he has been brilliant) has made him a scapegoat for any of the team's problems.

So the coach in charge is

So the coach in charge is supposed to travel back in time to recruit players to Michigan before he is hired here? This coaching staff can be attacked for a number of things, especially Al Borges' playcalling, but to place blame on Hoke for the state of experienced players on the roster is absurd and ignores all level of rational thinking.

The notion that this staff

The notion that this staff can't develop talent is overblown. Your examples are either extremely specific or flat out wrong (especially on the Dline). So I guess the dratics improvements from 2010 to 2011 along the line mean nothing. Frank Clark's transistion into a quality (still not great) DE from a safety is another example. What about Quinton Washington and Jibreel Black's improvements? Desmond Morgan and Jake Ryan's rise from 3 stars to very quality Big 10 linebackers show your statement to be based off nothing but your own emotions. You know why our 4 and 5 star players have seemed raw these past couple seasons? Because they are Freshman and Sophmores! They are supposed to be raw. I'll admit that a lot more needs to be proven on the offensive side of the ball especially since they need to overcome the inconsistent, questionable playcalling of Al Borges. However to say that players haven't improved would be wrong. It's clear that Gardner has upped his play since the horrible spring pratices we all witnessed in years past. Jeremy Gallon developed into one of the best recievers in Michigan history. Taylor Lewan and Michael Schofield are both NFL tackles. These coaches still have a lot to prove and I'm not completely sold on their ability to take Michigan to the next level but the fact that so many people on this site are convinced that we will be horrible for the forceable future because we played like shit in the who gives a fuck bowl is the most disheartenting thing I've seen on this board in a while. They've brought in the talent and now they'll finally have upperclassman depth. If things go badly next year and we don't see significant improvement, that's the real time to worry.

Everything you post is

Everything you post is completely hyperbole and overreaction. Do you not remember the horrible situation our secondary was in under RR? The entire defensive depth chart, especially the secondary, needed a completely overhaul that we are still in the process of dealing with. The fact that Mattison was able to field a competent seconadary over the past few years is a testament to coaching and unique ability of Jordan Kovacs to prevent big plays (who was lost this year and largely explains the increase). Next year we finally get to have Hoke's very talented first full class become upperclassman and people like you want to blow everything up again. You have no idea what rebuilding something actually entails.

Terrific Episode

First off this was a great episode and I'm extremely excited for the finale. I'm not going to speculate becuse I am just ready for the writers to amaze me. But a few of you have your facts wrong in regards of the creation of the series. ABC wanted a show that was a mix of Survivor, Cast Away, and Lord of the Flies. They first went to Jeffery Lieber who created the show Nowhere but ABC didn't like it enough and asked J.J. Abrams to create it. He became interested when he was told he could use supernaturual elements. Abrams then went to Lindelof and together they created the pilot, the show's 'bible,' and the first number of episodes. Some elements were realized in the begining, for example that a figure would represent light(Jacob) and black(MIB), amoung other things. Then when it was renewed in the middle of the first season Abrams left (to create more series and movies) and Cuse joined Lindelof as a showrunner. After this they crafted the rest(most) of the story around what had been set up already. The direction would change because of actors and other factors. When they were given to 2010 end date(which they asked for) in 2007, it really allowed Cuse and Lindelof to tell their story. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Lost
