Danny O'Bien was the anti-liberal. Remember Butch Jones is from Michigan and coached at Central so he has good connections here.

Don't be surprised if Manning comes back when Mattison retires.
|6 days 18 hours ago||Baxter coached TE||
Makes a lot of sense as young JH will have help from Baxter with TEs while learning STs from the master = Win Win.

"When Tom Herman opted to accept the head coaching job at Houston, immediate concerns arose about Joe Burrow. The Class of 2015 quarterback commitment had his concerns regarding his future in Columbus."
FWIW Meyer made it a point to do an in home with him today.

Brian's tweet is the sweet music.

There are many comments on the blog that are so out of touch that they could (should) be sarcastic... but they aren't intended to be. Things like not understanding the insanity of wasted red shirts; not wanting Hogan because it would insult Shane; etc., etc..
The sarcastic comments on Ryan Davis came from veteran posters so I got the sarcasm, but for the benefit of those who are less tuned in the '/s' is helpful.
|1 week 5 days ago||4th on the 'Zona Depth Chart||
Great HS highlights but FOURTH on the Arizona depth chart.
We need a grad transfer QB, but this doesn't look like 'the guy'.
Colonel Klink knows whom we need.
|1 week 5 days ago||Meh and do not want???||
You forgot the /s
This is the kind of elusive guy with SPEED that we desperately need. JH obviously sees the Need for Speed.
|1 week 6 days ago||Wikipedia already has him||
Wikipedia already has him listed as Michigan's defensive backs coach.
From Youngstown (who isn't?) so good Ohio recruiting chops.
|1 week 6 days ago||Barrett behind him??||
Not likely that he beats out Barrett (and Braxton).

He looks like a good safety prospect:

Thanks for understanding the value of red shirt years - so many on this board don't get it.
Spacing the QBs out with a RS for Shane as you project would be ideal.
Speaking od spacing and red shirts: we need 4 OL (3 minimum) in this class to give us some upper classmen on the O line in 2018.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Malzone in 2016||
Malzone is 'the guy' from 2016 onwards. Getting Hogan (or silmilar) will be fabulous for 2015.
If Speight or Shane develop to be better than Malzone then so be it... but Alex looks like the real deal.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Love to see him at running back||
Speed. vision, toughness, ball skills. At the very least give him a wildcat package.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Wasted Red Shirt (again)||
With sane coaching Dymonte would just be going into his RS Sophomore year with plenty of time to develop the savvy needed to play safety. Really hoping that JH does not uselessly burn red shirts... gotta feeling he is too smart for that.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Thank You||
Nice work. Several of us have been noting these looming donut holes in posts, but the majority of the board seemed oblivious (Bolivian?). The OL situation for 2018 is particularly glaring as we have effectively only taken one last year and so far only two in this class. That means only 3 (!) OL in 2018 not including the '16 and '17 classes. We need four this year to get the pipline in order.
Fortunately, it looks like attrition for lack of PT will increase the sizes of both this class and the next one beyond what is normal.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Agreed MOAR OL!||
We have only one freshman lineman next year plus whatever we get in this class (2 so far). The spacing of classes is poor so.... MOAR!

Greg Jackson is on campus today and he will be the db coach.
JH would never put Manning with dbs... OLB and WDE maybe.

Florida QB went down so Driskel back in.... audition?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Yes, been there before...||
James Hall was called "Rush LB" in the '97 defense and Woodley later had the same position - yet both were much more DE than LB.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Watching Florida Today||
I'm no expert, but looks somewhat like a 4-3 under with a stand up rush LB who almost always plays like a WDE. Not much different than a 3-4. FWIW I Ilke the 4-2-5 as it gives you heft up front and in the middle with SPEED behind.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Great Stuff||
Thanks for the continuing excellent content - a few thoughts:
- QB: Malzone will be the guy in '16. We all crave Hogan or similar to get us through '15, but if that does not materialize the JH effect on both Speight and Shane will be positive.
- RB: Isaac will be the star in '15, and I think there is a good shot to flip Weber. Drake is good if healthy; Green was always over rated; Smith would be wise to make the move to FB where he could be excellent.
- FB: Insert Wasted Redshirt Rant! Houma should be a RS soph grrr. Kerridge is a stud for '15 with a solid back up who will depart with him. In '16, hopefully Shallman embraces the role, and/or Smith makes the move.
- OL: MOAR recruits. Our OL pipeline is like a snake that swallowed two large meals with nothing before or after. Hopefully we will take at least three this year and four next year.
- WR: We will be fine. Harris, Ways and Canteen all have star potential as will Cole. I still have hope that we will offer (and flip) Grant Perry = baller.
- TE: You forgot about Khalid Hill who could be a very valuable H Back if he comes back strong from the ACL.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Easy transition for Kelly at Oregon||
Kelly took over a very successful Ducks program where he had been OC for three years and his offense was totally installed. Totally different from the tire fire that JH took over at Stanford.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||No Brainer||
To even question whether to take someone like Hogan is ludicrous. I have no idea if this is at all a possibility, but if ANY grad transfer as good as Hogan wants to come to Michigan next year we should welcome him with wide open arms.
The part of this thread that sheds even a scintilla of doubt on this is totally out of touch with reality.
