This list is completely arbitrary and not a genuine analysis of the relative merits of state fossils.

Not even a little bit. You really should give up those early-morning cocktails. |

No. I am not. Asserting that someone who makes the choice to do something (play football for a major program) with full knowledge that doing so will put him on national tv and subject him to high levels of criticism and scrutiny for his play is "in over his head" (in other words, is not ready to play) or "not very talented" (in other words, may not be good enough to play at this level) is 100% fair game and does not make me (or anyone) "a douche." Personal attacks or unfair insults are not cool, I agree. Fans cross the line all the time and it is not okay. But these are simple observations about the game itself that happen to be true (or at least appear to be true as of today). |

Our offense =Denard trying to do stuff that is good while the coaching staff is busy screwing everything up. Without him, it is just the coaching staff screwing everything up with an assist from our obviously in over his head and not very talented backup QB. He is probably a nice young man though. |

I love the podcasts, love the blog, love Brian's writing, etc. But does it bug anybody else that Brian seems to have a habit of badly mispronouncing players' names? Lewan and Dileo come to mind. Also Huyge (from last year's podcasts). Especially in a world where there are videos on the internet of most of these guys pronouncing their own names (i.e., the "Countdown to Kickoff" videos), it seems like something that should be done correctly. I hate to sound like a complainer. It bugs me though. |

| 42 weeks 13 hours ago | Autographed photos? |
Does anyone know of a store that sells autographed photos of Michigan players? I have a pretty solid collection of signed 8 x 10s going (I have about 60) that I plan to display in my future mancave. I am always looking to add to it. Ideally, the store that I have in mind would carry harder-to-find autographs -- I know that I can find an overpriced Desmond Howard autograph at the MDens of the world, but that's not what I'm looking for. It seems like there should be such a store in the Ann Arbor area somewhere, but I'm not aware of any. Is anybody else? And yes, I am aware that eBay exists. |
| 44 weeks 11 hours ago | Exactly |
Exactly. The main reason why the Freeh report is being treated as a credible document is that it came from a qualified, independent source who had access to the relevant documents and witnesses. Whoever the Paternos hire is going to be a hired gun whose stated mission will be to poke holes in the Freeh report in order to reach the conclusion that this wasn't Joe's fault. The fact that we already know what conclusion he/she is going to reach is a credibility-killer. If he/she is able to uncover some new evidnece (seems unlikely), then that may be a different story. Otherwise, it is a PR stunt. |

I just noticed that he's also in one of the pictures on the main page of the ticket office website. Unbelievable. |

That doesn't make sense... which, in its own way, totally makes sense. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | Agreed |
That actually sounds perfectly accurate. And a lot like posts that were being made by Michigan fans during the Dunn recruitment. A lot of people posted as if Dunn was UM's to lose while he was committed to OSU. |

| 1 year 15 weeks ago | Khoury |
In today's detnews.com live chat with Sam Webb, somebody asked Sam about this and his answer mentioned various players, including Khoury. But his mention of Khoury was followed by the parenthetical "(if he comes back)." I'm not sure whether the possibility of Khoury not returning has been on the radar for others, but this is first I have heard of it. |

Generally speaking, in SEC securities fraud cases the SEC does not have to prove that anybody "relied on" your fraudulent conduct. In other words, they don't have to prove that your fraudulent scheme "worked." |

No. It doesn't. Not even a little. |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | Thoughts on Meyer from a Buckeye co-worker |
I work with a guy who is a huge buckeye fan and today he told me that he absolutely does not want Urban Meyer to coach his team. He also said that he had polled fifteen or so of his buckeye buddies and not a single one of them was in favor of hiring Meyer. He listed a couple of reasons why he did not want OSU to hire Meyer, most of which were of the general "he is kind of a dirtbag" variety. But the biggest, and most interesting, reason that he listed was that it would feel like a slap in Tressel's face if OSU were to hire the guy whose team gave Tressel the biggest beating of his career. When I heard this, I asked him "You're still worried about the idea of a perceived slap to Tressel's face????" His reply was: "Yes. I'm still hoping he's going to come back." Obviously he doesn't actually expect Tressel to return. But I don't think he'll ever stop wishing for it.

I think this is the right line of thought, given what Hoke has said in the past. Give the kid a shot at RB. But if he gets passed up, there are lots of other positions where that speed could make him a real asset. |

| 1 year 29 weeks ago | That was Jim's |
B. Graham gained his 30 pounds from Jim's, for the record. And I don't fault him for that. Jim's is a solid choice. Still not as good as Tony Luke's, though. If BG had discovered Tony Luke's it would have been 40 pounds. |

Go to Tony Luke's for your cheesesteak. Skip Pat's & Geno's. And definitely skip Subway. But you knew that already. |

| 1 year 32 weeks ago | Diamond of Doom |
I move that we adopt "Diamond of Doom" as the e-fficial nomenclature. I get the theory behind "Fritz," and I know that Brian has already declared that to be his name of choice. But Diamond of Doom is (a) much more fun to say, (b) catchier, (c) applicable in a more obvious and direct fashion, and (d) seems more tailord to this segment of the fanbase (and by that I mean the same people who use the terms "Tacopants," "OMG shirtless," etc.). |
