How have I not seen this and what the fuck is going on there?

Just when I was starting to get all down on Hoke and Michigan's staff.......

There is no doubt Michigan can afford him. One of the big problems with Kiffin is once he has a little success his name is going to come up for every college coaching opening. We probably couldn't keep him for more than a couple of years if he did well.

Going after Mazzone seems to be aiming a little low, especially after looking at his history and stats. This is the perfrect opportunity for a home run hire and Michigan certainly has the money if nothing else to make that happen.

Watching that awards ceremony that's all I could think, when will this be us? Then I stopped thinking about it because on our current trajectory..........well let's just enjoy SEC sadness for a while.
|9 weeks 8 hours ago||Agreed, finally some relief||
Agreed, finally some relief from the all the SEC homers that don't seem to be a fan of any team in particular, just fans of the SEC.

Given our showing, we should probably thank them for that.

I think a large part of the problem is the fact that Michigan and it's fans showed up to the "who gives a shit bowl" and played like it was the who gives a shit bowl. Except the who gives a shit bowl was nationally televised and the whole country got to see Michigan not give a shit in prime time. I wonder if MSU gave a shit about the who gives a shit bowl? Yep, looks like they kinda did, and thats why they are where they are and we are where we are.
|9 weeks 5 days ago||Congrats to Sparty. You||
Congrats to Sparty. You can't argue with success. Right now Michigan and MSU are programs headed in opposite directions. Hopfully 2014 proves me very wrong, but I haven't seen much to make me think so. Should make in state recruiting a little more interesting as well.
|10 weeks 17 hours ago||I think this is one of the||
I think this is one of the fundemental problems with the Michigan football program. We still look at ourselves as nationally relevant when in fact we haven't been since 2006. Far from being the "big boys", beating Michigan, in the eyes of most fanbases isn't what it used to be.
Michigan came out flat and uninspired becuase like you said, the fans and the team looked down their noses at K-State and the BWW bowl in general. They should have come out fired up with a chip on their shoulder because the reality is, outside of Michigan fans, the country thinks we are a joke. Crazy as it sounds, recruits watch ESPN and use the internet. At what point does all the embarassing losses and bad press hurt recruiting (Alabama engineering, hur hur)? That's why games like the BWW bowl are so crucial even if it's not the game we wanted to be in.
|10 weeks 22 hours ago||The worst part of going to||
The worst part of going to that game was all the pity from K-State fans that were sitting around us. Yes, pity. From K-State fans. We are a national joke at this point, all our high paid coaches and good recruting classes just to get beat (demolished really) by a team full of JuCo kids recruited to a school with 1/4 the budget Michigan has. Fuck, I can't wait for Sept 2014 to come.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||The moment that sticks out||
The moment that sticks out for me is when we ran the jet sweep or whatever the fuck you call it for the 23rd time with about 3min left in the 3rd quarter and the entire K-State team knew exactly what was going on. Every single player on that team ran to the ball, Morris came out of the hand off and had 70yds of open field in front of him because not a single player for K-state was fooled by what we were doing. Pretty much summed up the game.
The K-State quarterback looked like he had memorized our defensive playbook, he made checks almost every play. I wanted to jump off the upper deck after watching him throw a 34yd pass on 1st and 24. I just don't know anymore...........

Every large athletic program be it Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Ohio, etc has large numbers of fans that are not related to the university in any way. Without "Walmart Wolverines" buying tickets, buying merchandise and subscribing to the B1G network there is no way Michigan has the national visibility (or the budget) it enjoys now.

Hello, Nick Saban!
|12 weeks 6 days ago||If you eat anything here, it||
If you eat anything here, it has be Chino Banditos! It's a little hole in the wall place in north Phoenix but it has hands down the best food I have eaten in the valley. A bit of a drive from Tempe but you won't be sorry you did. Pizzeria Bianco in downtown Phoenix has awesome pizza but can have a long wait, so get there early. While you wait visit the Rose & Crown across the street, a great British pub.
Besides that if you are only here for a few days, I second hanging out at Mill Ave. Good bars and plenty of good eats + wall to wall hotties. Hiking Camelback mountain is a must if you are decently athletic, the view is incredible. If you are lazy, you can just drive up South Mountain and still get an amazing view of the city.
I'm probably in the minority of Phoenicians here, but you should avoid Scottsdale (especially the bar scene) like the plague. Unless that is you are one or more of the following
-A huge D-bag
-A 55 year old rich dude trolling for 20 year olds to impress
-Someone who likes to pretend to be a millionare when they only make 30k a year (30k millionaires as they are known in PHX).
I simply cannot overstate how dbag-ish the bar scene is in Scottsdale, especially in Old Town. The one exception, as mentioned here is Papago Brewery, that place is fantastic. Hope this helps. The weather should be really nice for the bowl game.
|13 weeks 1 day ago||I'm happy...||
.....because I live in PHX and tickets are going for $35. I find it laughable that some Mich fans would choose to look down their noses at a matchup with K-State. We are a shaky 7-5 team that hasn't been nationally revelant for a decade or more (outside of 2006). Right now any bowl game, especially one that on the surface looks winnable, should put a smile on your faces. The last thing we need is a new years day embarrassment at the hands of an SEC team.

Just bought my tickets!!!!

Yahoo is projecting us to BWW bowl against Texas as of 4hrs ago. I am excited about the prospect of this as it's in my neighborhood.

Only because I live in PHX and tickets to watch two tire fires play are going to be cheap.
|16 weeks 3 days ago||:::||
I could see that. Or not.
|16 weeks 4 days ago||Hmmmm||
Go to Alabama and win NCs or pick between two tire fire programs? I can't blame this kid a bit. Our coaching staff on the other hand (hur hur).........

This season just gets better and better.
|17 weeks 1 day ago||It seems like we have been a||
It seems like we have been a more-often-than-not tire fire of a team since the 2007 Rose Bowl. Looking back on it, to me, that beatdown combined with the subsequent Horror and Oregon debacle really signaled a turning point for this program. I really don't think most Michigan fans are unreasonable. When you are paying a coach near as makes no difference Nick Saban money, you want results. Instead we have massive regression on almost all fronts.

Yes, Tempe would be great. For me. :)
|17 weeks 2 days ago||?||
What is so mystifying about this is that Mich will almost surely allow this horror show to continue through the rest of the season. I don't know anymore. We have been a program circling the drain of national relevance since 2007. Fire Borges, don't fire Borges, I'm not sure it's really going to make a difference. Without a massive personnel overhaul, to include the HC, I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm tired about hearing the term "lack of execution". We have been hearing this sh!t since 2008. How many players have rolled through since then? At what point does it become obvious that it's the coaches, not the players?
|18 weeks 7 hours ago||No. Just no.||
10-2 is pure fantasy at this point. If we have to utter things like "hey, we beat Minn" or "hey, we beat Indiana" to justify predicting wins against teams like Ohio, or any road win against teams not 0-5 tire fires, we are really screwed.
|18 weeks 8 hours ago||GO TO BED MICHIGANMAN, YOU'RE DRUNK||
We must be watching different Michigan teams. The Michigan team I've been watching all year really hasn't done much to prove that it can beat anyone other than stone cold lifeless, body bag teams. How long do we hang our hat on Notre Dame? Predicting road wins? Predicting beating OSU? You must be trolling.
