"No regrets?  Like not even single letter???"

Post Hawaii Take

Am I the only one who re-read this after the Hawaii game and cackled with glee?!?  I think we found a diamond in the rough, based on an extremly small sample size of gametime action and Harbaugh's gushing praise.  Awesome.

Touche'!!

Kevin Woodard is a fool!!

Amen. Special thanks to all our veterans.

I got my picture taken at the Notre Dame game a few years back and found myself publically skewered on both MGoBlog and Eleven Warriors because I am this guy:

C'mon...

AHHH!

What you meant to say, Carlos Spicywiener, was...

This is happening!

I want more positive vibes...

Amen!

Here here!

Arizona Blue has my vote.  This isn't an episode of Dynasty.  These boys will always have my respect.

Trivia Night

A few tall Rebel IPA's at Trivia Night.  Rather competitive trivia night, at that.  Don't blame the loss on the beer...

The glass is half full

In a changing world of conference realignment, I'd much rather be the conference that grows then the conference that gets poached.   I'll take a Rutgers game over losing Iowa to the Big 12.

I remember how many people complained about Nebraska.  What a great addition to the conference is Nebraska and their fans.

No use in complaining.

Quality

For me, I can handle the team losses much better if I know that we have quality young men on the field who play their best and exemplify Michigan Men.  Grant Newsome seems like a great kid with a strong future.   Congratulations to him and his family.

I will always support Hoke and his coaches for recruiting such quality young men first and foremost.

Fantastic!!!

Sweet Baby Jesus In A Manger!!  Can we play C?  Anything helps!

2009 Notre Dame

Tate Forcier's last minute winning drive capped an upset that not only proved that Tate was a proven winner, but that Rich Rod was the best coach in the game.  It was a great game and gets my personal nod because it was all I had for the better part of those three years.  (Spoiler Alert:  Because the reality was that... <cough> <cough> )

I was at the 1998 Rose Bowl, whch was an awesome game that literally brought me to tears, but we expected to win.  Second place.

I'm excited!

I am very interested in hearing how this went today.  I have had enough with the not-so-good news on the RB Recruiting front.  This would be a big.  I have a good feeling about this one!

I disagree!

I believe the math equation looks something like this:

Michigan Commitment(!) = Academics * Tradition * Brand Recognition / (prospect's fondness of the movie "Rudy" + 1).

Note the +1 to avoid "Divide By Zero" errors for the majority of civilized people.

Donovan Warren

Not because he was the most dominant defensive back, but the fact that we lost him to a pipe dream that he was going to get drafted highly enough to leave.  I am assuming that is why he left, and encourage any corrections.

2009 First Team All Big Ten > not.

Take it from me.

Take it from me, who was recently lampooned by many.  Even if you're really attractive, which I believe Kate Upton is, somebody in the MGoCommunity will have something negative to say.

Their opinions can easily be disregarded.

Touche'!

You're worse than my mother-in-law.

Once you get to your mid-thirties with an strong affinity for good beer, perhaps you'll look trimmer than I sitting at the fifty yard line with aplomb.  When you do, there will be a majority of fans that encourage your enthusiasm.  There may be a few who...well...

I have arrived!!

I personally find it a highlight in my life to be featured so prominently, even if the advertisement is a sign of a declining program.  :-(  The photograph was taken at last year's Notre Dame game.

However, the jersey may not be sanctioned, but it certainly is vintage.  My mother bought that for me the day I got accepted into UofM in the Fall of 1994.  Number #37, of course, was the dominating Jarrett Irons.  I have worn it proudly ever since.

All additional constructive criticism is encouraged!  I can take it.  Go Blue!

72-69 Michigan

UM 72 - KU 69.

I'm done.

I have better things to do in a day than spend effort watching us miss free throws.

I'll catch NCAA tournament on the nightly news.  These guys are mediocre and I just don't have time to blow.

Devils advocate

Does the final score obfuscate the team's problems with another the lackuster start?  It wasn't as convincing as I needed to feel good about March Madness, but it will have to do.  I won't feel great until we thump Wisconsin tomorrow, and even then, until we thump Indiana.  Moar defense, please.

After a tough day...

MGoBlog means so much to me because after a tough day, I am reminded that our sun shines bright and our future promises a day worth living.  This picture warms my tired soul.

Seriously...

Clearly, his commitment can go a lot of ways, so I don't celebrate because I honestly think he will commit to Michigan, but I DO celebrate knowing that Dantonio gets a few less hours of sleep knowin' he's been had!

Where's the threat??

Wow.

Little more can be said that hasn't already been said, but the headline left me stunned.

I've always been proud that he hailed from the rollicking crew.  Congratulations to him and all he accomplished.

I'm a big drinker...

I'm a big drinker, but not on a Sunday.  When I get pissed, I work twice as hard to prove that a Michigan degree is better.  That is much easier to do when we lose to OSU, because obviously I just need to wake up on Monday and drive to work in something other than a pizza delivery truck.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

The disappointment

...I'm sure it will be said many times in the next few weeks, but it feels good knowing that the program is heading in such a positive direction.  Sure, we were literally inches from another banner and confirmation of an elite program, but we should be uber competitive for years to come.

The home crowd, as defined in this thread, confirms that our beloved program will get embraced as it should.  Go Blue.

RB

Although moving him to RB certainly removes the ackwardness of catching a ball, it dramatically increases the chance that he will get an outside linebacker at full speed.  I don't wish that upon anyone that isn't 230 pounds and ready for the hit.  You can't just run out of bounds five yards sooner in the NFL.

Compare him to Javhid Best.  First rounder.  Same approximate size and speed.  Outside of a 70 yard scamper against the Bears on Monday Night Football, he was one injury after another.  It's a tough position.

Arm comparison

I recall Randle El being very strong in his passing game.  Not good enough to start in a pro style offense, but his double pass was certainly effective.

I hate to say it, but Denard's floating lofter may not cut the mustard in the NFL.  I still love him, and will continue to do so when he starts his next career in automotive sales.

It's a shame...

It's too bad that non basketball and non football sports don't get the publicity, but it is the world we live in.  Nobody gave a crap when I got an A in my EECS 482 project.  (You got me.  Hypothetical situation.  I never got an A on any EECS 482 project.)

Good job, ladies.  Hard work pays off and the entire Michigan community embraces you in spirit.  Even if it is only mentioned on a Saturday morning thread...

What is the best age?

Related question, what is the youngest age you should consider bringing your son to a game?  I have a four year old and I'm confident that he would only challenge my ability to watch the game.  I took him to a Tiger's game last year and I might as well have chased him around the parking lot for free.

Should I wait until he is at least 6 years old?  Once I get enough points, I would love to start a thread.  One day...

A good cause

I think this is for a great cause.  There are a lot of people dismissing this, but having the face of your brand on one of the most popular video games is huge.  Think of how you would feel perusing the shelves at Target if you stumbled on AJ Hawk in full Buckeye glory on the cover??

"Clean up in aisle 5!!"

My $0.02.

Primarily, I would like to encourage any and all images featuring ladies in bikinis.  Shirtless dudes from the Michigan football team is a wash.  Just shirtless dudes is to be discouraged.

That being said, Wormley has my vote, and that comes before I saw the picture.

We are due for a standout DE.  I hope this beast lives up to the hype.

We need MOAR kids from Ohio kicking ass.

Randle El

It was a great trick play for the Steelers.  The Double Pass featuring Antwaan Randle El.  I don't think Denard will be able to get out of this man's shadow, so play along and improve your draft position.

I'll be that guy...

I personally can't enter a movie conversation without mentioning Shawshank Redemption, but I think the most underrated movie is the original Muppet Movie (1979).  Its even better when you have kids.

If you're feeling naughty, though, I highly recommend "Lawrence of a Labia".  Fantastic character development...

Come morning...

Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye.  It comes with my full endorsement.  Great night with friends.

Good morning, moderate hangover!

Count my vote...

I'm not sure it deserves a weekly recruiting round-up, but count my vote in the "Moar Baseball Recruiting Updates" category.

Cold wet lonely

I spent years searching for the meaning of life.  Catholicism, Buddishm.  I went through a shoe fetish one night in East Quad.  Blimpy Burger filled that void until I started gaining weight.  Nothing seemed to fit.

And then I found porn.

...and then the world waited for Dave Brandon's decision on Rich Rodriguez.  MGoBlog has since become a daily diversion.  I only recently created my account.  Between internet porn and MGoBlog, my life, marriage, and workplace have been fulfilling.

This guy...

This guy was a mess even through his recruitment.  He should have stuck with Indiana, since at least he would get on the field.  I guess Bloomington could be his next stop.

I can't wait to see Frank Clark crush him like a grape.

Monster!!!

Wow!!!  Huge!!  I can't take these games anymore...

Michigan brews

Founders Old Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale.  Drink local.

Funeral

I have a funeral tonight.  When I get home, I have Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred waiting for me.  FML.

I'll admit...

I'll be the first to admit that the recent struggles have crushed my short sighted expectations of an undefeated season and a national championship, and I have focused that unfettered rage  at the handful of freshmen who show less than "best ever" qualities on the court.

Gordie is right and I'm glad he posted this thread.  We should be enjoying Trey Burke and his POY caliber season.

Now back to my regularly scheduled miserable evening.

This thread...

This thread is clearly missing praise for the pretty ladies presented for all to enjoy.

Did anyone notice the Purple Heart?  The wound that never heals??

I apologize.

Debbie Downer

It certainly turned into the night we needed, but let's not get too excited.

We need to win out - beating both State and IU - before we can really celebrate.  No easy task.

No pressure and let's just enjoy the ride.
