ACC You moved 2 ACC teams, Virginia Tech and FSU, up 1 after losing to teams with identical records that are also above them in the league standings (Miami and Boston College), neither of whom are ranked. Part of me wants to criticize you but the overwhelming feeling is just to throw my hands in the air and declare that ACC teams are unrankable until the season ends.
ding ding ding! We have a winner! He did the same thing in the NW games I saw against Iowa and Purdue. And honestly, what's the big deal? The man pumped his fists in the air, he didn't go take a piss at midfield. Fitzgerald is a real young guy (what is he, 32?) and he's obviously more intense on the sidelines than a lot of older coaches. You need that kind of an attitude when you're coaching at a program where wins aren't exactly easy to come by.
One play made by a RB with first round talent doesn't tell me much about UM's chances. Watching the replay, one guy had an arm on Wells and NW's defense kind of held up while trying to keep him bottled up inside. When Beanie regained his balance there was a big seam up the middle and 0 purple jerseys between him and the end zone. Outside of that one great run, Northwestern held Wells to 3 ypc on 27 runs. That, along with the 6 TFLs they racked up impressed me. I think their DL is underrated and that the UM OL is going to have a tough game on saturday.
Look on the bright side If either (or both) of Minnesota and Northwestern make it, it's really a win-win situation for Big10 fans. If either of those teams get killed, no big deal, everyone expected them to, and it's not like the "SEC rulez!" crowd can get any more obnoxious. But if either of them win, that's the kind of ammo that will shut up any mouthbreathing redneck with access to the internet.
well...

Why would I waste time worrying about a column full of creepy poems to cheerleaders written by a guy who spends his free time trying to convince people that a meteorite is going to destroy Earth soon?

Well

I think at some point you have to reward Northwestern for being a BCS team that's still undefeated, if only with a 23-25 slot.

On slighlty related note: None of Northwestern's wins are very good but they very well could win 8-9 games without beating anyone impressive. They're 5-0 with this schedule left:

MSU-loss, Purdue-likely win, @Indiana-likely Win, @Minnesota-likely Win, OSU-loss, @UM-loss, Illinois-loss

That would put them at 8-4, and while they very well could lose to any of those 3 "win"  teams, they also have the potential to beat anyone but probably OSU on that list (they've done very well against Sparty lately).Yet none of those 3-4 wins would garner them any respect nationally. What do you do with a hypothetical 8-4/9-3 Northwestern with nothing that resembles a great win? It's not their fault they missed Wisc. and PSU.

This probably speaks more to the 12 game schedule and the proliferation of horrible OOC scheduling than anything else but I doubt any Wildcat fans will be complaining if they're in the Outback Bowl or whatever.
