If he wants to be in Detroit he'll come back in free agency. In the meantime, get something for him. He's not doing the Tigers any good the next two months so why not.
|3 days 14 hours ago||Avila||
While I agree he's undervalued I think he's expendable now with McCann's emergence. No reason to sign him after the season so they may as well see if they can get anything for him now. Maybe somebody will throw the Tigers a draft pick or something for him.

They don't call themselves the Black Knights any longer either. They're the Cadets again.

Army is one of only five teams Michigan has a losing record to so it might be nice to scratch one of those teams off the list.
Technically we can take another off the list when we play Utah. If we win we go to even with them.
Yeah we should probably beat them silly but I grew up going to Army games at Michie Stadium. Excited to see the Cadets come up to the Big House.

Sounds like Nauta is heading to Georgia and Upshur just cancelled his planned August commit date and is taking an FSU visit according to Adam Friedman

Good rant but as someone who lives in the district and has grade school aged kids, it's simple math. The number of grade school students nationwide is actually on a downward trend but it's particularly pronounced in Michigan because so many families left to find jobs elsewhere during the recession. This fact has actually been reflected in statements the University has been putting out in reference to future admissions and the likelihood that we'll be admitting a higher percentage of out of state students because "the number of qualified students in Michigan is decreasing". Farmington district already has 2500 fewer students than in 2008 and other local districts have been closing schools too. Royal Oak merged its two high schools and closed almost all its middle schools about six years ago, Bloomfield Hills merged its two high schools and closed some elementary schools. West Bloomfield closed a bunch of elementary and middle schools. Pontiac merged its two high schools and now Southfield is. It's a simple matter of numbers. It sucks but we just don't need as many schools any more.

I live in FH but the North Farmington district. Essentially they'll just merge Harrison and Farmington High. Herrington (the Harrison coach) is at retirement age. A lot of the football players at Harrison are school-of-choicing in from Southfield or their parents rent apartments in those complexs right next the school. Likely means that the team shoppers go elsewhere, the good athletes go to Farmington and the good students end up at North.

Nain Rouge may be the local legend but you never see what poses as a hard news story on it the way you did with the Chupper or the OCCK
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Chupacabra is to Texas/South Florida as _______ is to Detroit||
I lived in South Florida for a bunch of years and I swear that every time there was a particularly long string of slow news cycles there was a story about Chupacabra. People down there were just obsessed with the stupid thing.
After that I moved up here to Metro Detroit and it strikes me that the same is true with one of two stories. Every time the news gets a little slower than normal up here, the local stations start running stories about either the the Oakland County Child Killer or the location of where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

The best state-run law school in a given state will generally be decent because it will automatically get a bunch of the top in-state applicants because tuition will be cheaper than an out-of-state or private option. This is particularly true in a state with a large city like Atlanta in it.
|3 weeks 15 hours ago||I suppose||
I suppose Wrestlemania might make SLIGHTLY better sense because they would put the stage in the middle of the field the way they did the ice arena so the ring would be smaller than a stage needed for a concert. A concert is a little different because they would have to put it up against some part of the existing stands and the stage is a LOT bigger.

|3 weeks 15 hours ago||Somebody told me something interesting about the Big House||
Somebody I know who has been in the Athletic Dept for years told me something interesting about the Big House in terms of why they don't do concerts or some events there.
The biggest reason they don't do concerts and anything that requires a large stage is because there are only two ways into the stadium. (1) whatever it is has to fit through the tunnel and those of you who have seen it know it isn't very tall or wide. (2) You'd have to install a pretty darn large crane and bring the equipment over the top of the stadium. Under the hated prior Athletic Director they actually explored the concert idea but they couldn't easily find a way to get a stage and rigging in that didn't involve spending an arm and a leg on a crane.

I know one of the court appointed attorneys of the kids and the mother has completely turned the kids against their father who has done nothing wrong. All the judge did was tell the kids to have lunch with their dad. The mother was first denying the kids from seeing their father and when the court demanded she let the kids see their dad, she turned the kids on them. It's an awful story but don't make dumb shit comments when you clearly didn't read the story and learn about the circumstances.

Brad Evans for Chandler. Like the move. Don't need Chandlers offense right now. Evans has been a stump for Seattle.
