|2 weeks 3 days ago||WTF||
Things are really imploding in East Lansing
|3 weeks 2 days ago||There is NOTHING else there||
Having grown up five minutes from Paramus I can confidently tell you there is nothing else there except shopping malls. There are like three or four of them right next to each other off a major highway that hooks up with New York City to try to lure in the weekend shopping traffic.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson's mother is 1989 Michigan grad (School of Kinesiology).
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Question for Recruiting Knowledgable||
I know this year's crop in the State of Michigan was pretty solid. How does the 2018 class compare? I had heard it was a down year.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Mike does||
Mike Illitch loves the Tigers but the transition to his son Chris is happening and this may be his call. Unfortunate. A local and Michigan alum owner (at least Chris is) selling the team to both an out-of-town and Sparty owner(Gores).

If he was '15 prospect he'd be a regular transfer (not a grad transfer) and would have to sit a year
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Has anyone been keeping tabs on||
Has anyone been keeping tabs on/or can anyone provide a rundown of what Ohio State is losing to graduation and early entry to the draft?
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Wine is||
Wine, particularly red, is significantly better for you than beer. Either overdone is lousy for you but there have been significant studies indicating a glass of red wine a couple of times a week is beneficial.

Ok... Here's some help..
EDIT: Willakenzie Estates in Oregon is also owned by UM alum Ronnie Lacroute. Good wine.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||That paragraph was from||
That paragraph was in an email that went out to all of us Alumni Student Recruiters. If you got deferred DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE. They'll review everyone who got deferred again in late January/early February and as they'll continue to roll admissions for the next two months. Maybe half or just over half of the kids who ultimately be on campus in September have gotten in at this point.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||Tough comparison||
I can see the parallels, particularly that both teams are depending on young talent. However, you can do that in basketball (see Kentucky). Izzo teams usually have a little early season stumble. Talk to me in February/March and we'll see where he's got them. You can't fault a bunch of their losses so far because they're to top ten teams.Northeastern is a bad one though. Like I said, lets wait and see for another six weeks.

Time for some new names to emerge and some snake oil to be pulled from the closer
|10 weeks 2 days ago||I wonder if they move Cole back to tackle||
Cole wasn't overwhelming at center and we have more interior guys on the roster who could fill that spot (Kugler comes to mind). Considering the dearth of tackles, I wonder if Cole goes back to tackle and then JBB mans the other spot.
More than any other position I'll be watching that tackle spot during spring.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||Not linemen||
Not really linemen.....its offensive tackles. We got some guys last year but they were mostly interior guys. The OT thing is mystifying to me considering how thin our depth chart is at that spot.
Hope Harbaugh found some of Rodriguez's snake oil in the corner of the closet because we need to snake us a high profile tackle from somewhere.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||Can any||
Can any of these great receivers we're recruiting play tackle?
|10 weeks 2 days ago||That sucks||
Not going to disparage the kid or the decision. He has his reasons.
My question is who is left on the OT board. Our OT situation is scary right now. Newsome probably won't be ready to go physicall, JBB didn't pass his test earlier in the year. We know nothing about Ulizio except his rather low recruiting ranking. With both tackle spots opening up next year I suspect we would have had a true freshman in one of those spots. The two 3* kids look like they need time to bulk up and it sounds like the kid from Florida has some academic barriers he has to jump.
Is there anyone left on the board that is the kind of kid who can start? If not, are we looking for graduate transfers?
|10 weeks 2 days ago||I'll bang||
One more week until vacation. Let's start the weekend right with a big commitment today
|11 weeks 5 days ago||Disagree||
As much as I, you, EVERY Michigan fan and I'm sure Coach Harbaugh, WANT to beat Ohio State, I don't think next year is any more necessary than any other year. When you talk about "it MUST happen" what is the end game? Certainly not removing Harbaugh. There is absolutely no one available or who will be available in the foreseeable future who could do more than him.
Plus, I think its pretty well presumed that next year will be some kind of rebuilding year.
|11 weeks 5 days ago||Depends||
In many ways the same... we had high hopes that got dashed by Ohio State in epic battles in which we came up a little short. As Harbaugh said, they don't write songs and tell stories about teams at Michigan if they don't beat Ohio. Conversely, this team has a chance to be different than '06 if they win their bowl game and go out on top as opposed to '06 where they essentially dropped their final two.
At least for us early 90's grads, getting the series back from FSU after the beating they doled out in 1991 would be a little something. So in differentiating between '06 & '16, winning the bowl will be a factor. That said, much like '06, we'll always wonder what would have happened if we beat Ohio State.

Likely Prefered Walk On
|12 weeks 1 day ago||You can't lose||
You can't lose that many seniors/All Big Ten/All Americans and expect to reload that easily with sophomores and true freshmen, many of whom didn't see that many snaps. It's not realistic. Inevitably someone will say "Ohio State just did". While they replaced a lot of players (a) it wasn't as many as we have to replace and (b) their recruiting has been better and for more consecutive years. They're fielding wave after wave of high four and five stars while he have some.
We'll find out quickly how good we are next year against a solid Florida team.
