Thank you State. You have just buried your hockey program for four more years.
|3 days 4 hours ago||Its not pessimism per se||
You're talking about a two year stretch where a majority of the national team games and camps are going to be centered around qualifying for the WC. If we were already a lock to move on to the hex round I would say that maybe Klinsmann could start some of these guys and see whats up. Unfortunately we're not so we're probably riding with this crew through the end of this year.
Assuming all goes well in September you're talking about Hex round qualifying in 2017 and, once again, you likely have to depend on your reliables for the most part. That and the 2017 Gold Cup (which you can bet Klinnsman will be taking seriously after our choke out last year) and likely the same guys for the most part save for some back of the roster tinkering.
Then 2018 rolls around and its WC time again and you can't really start new people during that.
There will inevitably be injuries and perhaps a player who starts lighting it up for his club team like Nagbe and Pulisic did such that Klinsmann has to give them a look in some friendlies and camps. That said, wholesale roster sea change before 2018 is unlikely because the opportunities for new faces to get in during a non-pressure situation are minimal. Klinsmann can't insert newbies into life-or-death games and most of what the USMNT plays from here until the WC are likely life-or-death unless we somehow completely kill it in the WC qualifying hex round and maybe have some late hex qualifiers we can use as indoctrination games because we're already guaranteed a spot.
|3 days 5 hours ago||Stop with U23 team||
Yes you listed off the guts of the U23 team (oh yeah, the guys who qualified for the Olympics....oh yeah...no).
Come on. These guys won't be in contention for World Cup starting spots in two years. These are the names we should hope start the youth movement after 2018 but some of these guys aren't even starting consistently for their club teams. This is your 2022 WC roster. No way any of them get enough international experience to see substantial national team
Horvath is the only exception depending on health/form of Guzan and Howard.
|3 days 5 hours ago||Think you're pushing the youth movement||
CCV isn't even playing for Tottenham yet, how can you expect he'll be a national team starter in the WC in 2 years? Morris won't displace Dempsey and Altidore in two years either. Both would have to be hurt for that to happen and I'm not convinced Klinsman wouldn't just put Wood and Zardes up top to start.
Until we start seeing Zelalem and Green getting serious results with their respective clubs I doubt you'll see them in any senior national team games. IF (and its a big if) those two ever come around, it will be for 2022.

Only the Men's Club team practices on the Huron. The Women's team has a beautiful facility out at Belleville Lake that they practice and host meets on.

I used to row on the Detroit River. Its not like you're swimming in it (leave that concern for the Open Water racers, of which one is a Michigan Alum). I just wouldn't jump in after we won a race. Biggest concern I'd have is smashing your boat into junk or some kind of garbage getting caught on your skeg and losing hydrodynamics of the boat.

I dunno. We made the semi's and will likely play against Argentina. Expectations have to be low so may as well swing for the fences.
I'd be interested in seeing the 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2 with Dempsey & Zardes up front, Bradley & Nagbe in the middle. If its the latter I wonder about Beckerman backing Bradley if Nagbe could play one of the sides in the midfield. Zusi at the other midfield.
Have to keep the original back four together against Argentina. Very unsure about sticking a centerback like Besler out on the wing against the talent Argentina has.
Someone has to feed Dempsey. The guy is legit but he needs someone feeding him the way Woods and Jones have been which is why I'd like to see Nagbe in there.
Pulisic off the bench if Zardes gets tired or is ineffective.

What happened to Besler?

I've sent inquiries to these guys for months wondering why they don't have an M helmet. Regrettable that our athletic department was the holdup and not the company. Just sent the email.

I feel like NCAA soccer is really behind the times. Two simple adjustments could fix:
#1) Make substitution rules more in line with pro/international rules. Limit to 3 to 5 substitutions and no one can come back in.
#2) It should be a two season sport. Have a series of regional championships at the end of the fall (winners can automatically qualify for NCAA's) but carry records over to the spring before you play the League and NCAA championships.

To the OP comment about competing at IRA. We used to by I think IRA changed rules so that Club teams can't compete there.
As for becoming varsity, no chance. Rowing is pretty damn expensive. Boats are expensive and you need a boathouse full of them. Further, no sport to

Any idea who we might see in the super regional? Do we get to host?

Nothing ever screamed "honey let's pack up the two-and-a-half kids and dog and go drive somewhere with lots of trees" like the Jeep Wagoneer.

This thing could be off the forum board by the time it's actually Tuesday. At this rate Friday POSBANG is happening Wednesday afternoon.

It's quite simple. I have had the same tickets for years and years and when I renew both my PSD in Dec/Jan and pay for my tickets in April, my same tickets are referenced in the renewal for each. Accordingly I know what seats I have and could theoretically sell them on stubhub though I wouldn't be able to grant delivery until August when they're mailed out.

Has a Nike logo and not a Jumpman logo. That's how you know its not legit.
That said, I wouldn't expect any changes to the home uniform so the straight blue top and yellow pants is probably right.
