“On the offense last year, they had great spacing. That’s what I remember. Great spacing, great shooters, like Nik Stauskas, who’s not there right now. But they always have someone to fill the roles. They have a cutting offense, kind of hard to guard.”

when I played rugby at UM we always played them on same day as football game. For the above poster, you will pay nothing.
FYI - UM Rugby is the reigning Big Ten Rugby Conference champs. M took second place on the pitch but Indiana forfeited its championship due to use of ineligible players.

are incidentially a few of the handful of full varsity rugby programs. Tough to compete against those teams, but the M guys had a great season. Lost in Big Ten championship in 15's to Indiana last fall (Rugby in the midwest plays a split season - Fall and Spring)

My anecdotal recollection was that when Mike Debord went to a zone stretch scheme, the offense's exposure to negative plays jumped dramatically -- only to bailed out by Mike Hart's shitiness behind the LOS time and again.
I recall that at the time the big threat (and I saw this with the Minnesota Vikings as well when they went to a zone stretch) was that the Debord version of the scheme (and Bevell in Minnesota with Adrian Peterson) was suceptible to and did not exploit the hard play side slanting by the front 7.
Hart (and Peterson in Minnesota) were able to exploit this at times if they were able to break backside contain, but it was definitely a flaw in the system leading to many (and many more potential) negative plays.

1) Bal Borges (Al's identical twin brother) - ok its really just Al in a Ramones wig;
2) Charlie Weis - heavier than Brady; more arrogant than Borges; decided schematic advantage needed; sidekick is Brady Quinn, Grad Assistant
3) Pat Narduzzi - he's been mentioned for every other job, so why not;
4) Nick Sheridan and or Justin Feagin and or Steven Threat - still not as bad as Borges' offense
5) Gerg - very good a making offenses look better thant they are;
6) Dave Brandon's ipad - has watched a lot of film;
7) Mike Hart - was used to making positive gains after being seemingly stopped for a loss with atrocious zone stretch blocking scheme;
8) Heiko - all your bubble screens are belong to us!!!!!!!!
9) Brett Favre - led Hattiesberg, MS to state championship as a high shcool OC;
10) Rocky Long - bringing him in couldn't save the old coach but maybe the second time is the charm;

He is going no where.
|42 weeks 4 days ago||Borges||
is the bigger problem than Morris. Borges will run and run and run and run and just when you think he is done running, he will run somemore.
If the play distribution is more than 20% pass I will be shocked.
On a silver lining note, in this lost year, it will be good to get Morris some live game experience for his own development.

Each team shall be forced to use Al Borges as its OC.

to the captains as like a baseball innning, Al Borges breathed a sigh of relief that his bunting three times in a row strategy could now be executed.

were specifically to support and raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project and not to recognize veterans day in general.
While I have no idea how they performed on the former, clearly the latter did not work so well as most people probably thought was a veterans day stunt.

None of the coaches is going anywhere. Hoke will not fire one of his coaches. He is a loyal guy - maybe to a fault.
|1 year 5 days ago||you have to know there is a problem before you can fix it though||
This offensive staff are so committed philosphically to the power run game, and also they can point to about 3 dozen things that still would have won the game against PSU had they gone right, that they may not be able to recognize the problem is that defenses are not being punished for stacking the box.
If you go based at least on his press conference, Hoke does not believe that there is a problem other than "we need to get the run game going a little better."
You have seen how they aim to get there and it is not by using misdirection, using pass to set up runs with fewer guys committed to the run, running Gardner from shot/pistol. It is throwing more bodies at the point of attack and they can scheme all day with in that tiny box, swap Burzinski for Bryant all they want and it is still a numbers game they will always lose.

While is student body walkon story is certainly an underdoggy tale. After his first (or maybe second year) was he really an underdog anymore? Was he an underdog in high school? Can't imagine that he was not an impact player in HS.
His story is not any less compelling if he is not Rudy Rudiger.

Weekend at Teo's. In a modern twist on the classic Weekend at Bernies Part II, a Heisman trophy candidate invites Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit for a weekend at his beach house in Hawaii to meet his girlfriend. Hilarity ensues when Teo spends the weekend trying to cover up the fact that the girlfriend doesnt exist. Intrigue abounds while Teo fends off the inquisitive Musberger while also trying to fend off the evil Johnny Football and AJ McCarron, hitmen from the criminal organization known as SEC who are trying to steal the girlfriend and the legendary black pearl that Teo found while pearl diving off the coast of Maui.

He turned Dink and Dunker moxie qb Cade McNown into a first rounder and Jason Campbell into an NFL qb. Borges cant throw the ball for Denard. Borges cant run a better route than Devin Gardner who broke off his route on one of Denard's INTS.
This was just one of those games. We have been on the good end of the them in past and today we weren't.
Defense was encouraging and offense moved the ball. This team will win a lot of games.
|2 years 4 weeks ago||my biggest frustration with the playcalling||
was that ND was dropping 8 into coverage and everytime Denard through underneath the coverage he was successful.
But at the end of the day, in fairness to Borges, the offense moved the ball pretty well when Denard (and Smith) wasnt throwing it to the other team.

|2 years 13 weeks ago||yeah - but I think he means Sgt Schultz||
who when discovering one of Hogan's well planned schemes, famously walked out of the room eating a spoonful of something Lebeau was cooking and stating "I know no-thing"
While Klink stood for general ambition and incopetence - which was certainly present in this affair, Schultz opted for willful blindness.
And thanks to reruns, those of us not in our late forties could still enjoy Hogan's Heros.

mattison acknowledged after the game that he wanted to challenge Miller to throw because to that point he could not hit broad side of barn.
Posey, who was a real difference maker with his serious double moves had just had the ink dry on his suspension for tat-gate plus a few games tacked on form other tansgressions so I dont think they adequately prepared for him.

he is Medicare eligible, he was getting a state pension - probably still will - and he was probably even getting some benefits from tax payer funded psu.

jurors who do not hear from the defendant hold it against them - despite the instruction.
It is very rare that a defendant in a he/said she said case can rely upon cross examination alone, and the only shot the defendant has is getting the jury to like and believe them.
Not that Sandusky had a good choice here given some of his previous statements, but speaking in their own behalf is often the only chance a defendant has - however long that chance is.
