Finishing up at the bar. Been sipping captain and coke for the evening. Headed to the bbq shop down the road for a Sandwich or two, then back to the front porch for a cigar myself.
Brunch at the Italian/American restaurant down the street from my house in Evansville. Taking the folks at 1:00. Every year my mother asks for the same thing. A fern. On year I got her something nicer. She got mad. A fern it is.
There's a decent sized crowd of us here. My wife and I opened our house up for the M/Florida game and, in passing, saw about 25 people come through the door.
Forever, when dad and I would head to Detroit/Ann Arbor, or to our cabin in Baldwin, we always, always, always ate breakfast at the Hardee's in Sullivan.
Just a heads up, I take full control Dec 1. I will be there tomorrow, haha. But if you see anything wrong, 12/1 is when you can write me an email complaning haha.
Not whining, but just giving an honest answer as to where the threads went. I'm involved in a few Facebook groups and forums in which I spend the time researching, formatting and submitting the "today's schedule" I work hard to compile and submit (for free). This is the only community I supply the thread to in which nearly every time it turns into an argument about whether or not it should be a thread. I got to the point to where I thought "why am I doing this for these assholes?". I still do the legwork, and am still willing to provide the service, but honestly, as much as I love being a Michigan man, and am proud to sport the block M, the unregulated keyboard warriors in this atmosphere don't deserve. Sorry, I don't want to sound like a wiener, but I had to "bye Felicia" the soccer day posts. God bless. MGOBREWER out.
No dogs in these fights. Just hoping for some solid action. LCFC getting a W would be nice. It would be interesting to see the same club just points above relegation in the UCL final eight.
SUCK MY BEAN BAG SHIT TALKERS I WENT IN AT 6:30,GOT OFF AT 2:30, AND THEN WATCHED THIS FUCKING MIRACLE HAPPEN. BARCA BARCA BARCA TOP TEN SPORTS MOMENT OF MY LIFE. FUCK YES CELEBRATION I NEED AN UBER
AAAAAAMEN. Was an Arsenal fan for 9 years, and as soon as he took the helm and gave his famous "I bought this club as an investment" speech, I was out. I may be an ass hole for becoming a Manchester United fan, but I am having way more fun than at any time I was a Gooner. If they don't rid themselves of Wenger, it's time for some of you boys to jump ship. Seriously. You have to die one day. Don't give your love, emotion, money and time to a club that not only could care less about winning trophies, but acknowledges it publicly as well. Fuck Stan Kroenke.
My over-arching plan for the soccer threads are as follows:
One or two at the beginning of the season to celebrate the returm in August, followed by a shutdown (unless of course, there is an absolutely giganticf USMNT competive match) for the NO-OT based football season, followed there by a return of the threads in January as this is when all major European competitions are heating up, and OT topics are back in play.
Why now? Because this is a new incarnation and instead of waiting until next season, it made sense to go ahead and get these fired up. So no, no soccer thread 365 days a year. If you looked last week, it was a slow week so we just had one for Tuesday-Friday.
The threads have been well received, and I haven't ran into any confrontation from Brian, Ace, or any of the other moderaters or MGoBlogerati. I think the threads strengthen the blog, give us something more to discuss than just the normal football off-season talk, and plan on continuing to post them.
What I don't plan on doing is posting a defense for them every second thread. In reality, people who hate soccer (not saying that's you) have the ability to down vote the threads, as the people who love the soccer threads have the democratic ability to upvote. When we get to the point to where there are 2 upvotes and 37 downvotes, I might step back into the bushes. Also, the very fact that the smart-asses on this board may rally just to get this thread 37 downvotes is hilarious and one of the reasons I love coming to this forum.
I hope that answers the why now question for you. I'm simply trying to provide a free service to the blog, from an anonymous position, in order to promote community, commonwealth and discussion, within the pre-set rules. You're welcome to join the ride and learn about soccer, and root along with us. The reality is that soccer is growing and will soon be to a point in the United States where you simply can't avoid it. And frankly, I think that's pretty fuckin' nifty.
I've spent the morning both brewing and praying to Protestant, catholic and apathetic American soccer Gods that Barcelona can make a miracle. Came in to work at 5:30 to get the brew in in time to hit the bar for the match at 1:30 (central time). Hoping the boys from Barca have four goals in them, unless PSG score, then six goals.

This news was only made better by the fact that I was in town, sitting at the Brown Jug, when I got it.

This is awesome. Thanks a bunch. Got mine!
I’m all in on England and Poland, cause my family heritage. Also, I’ve got Uruguay in Doc’s pool for $120.

Looking great. Very excited.
Haha. Thanks man. These keyboard warriors can blow me.
1. Wait to post
Two options.
1. Wait to post the entire "today's schedule" thread until later in the day when half of the games have already been played.
2. Post two seperate threads. This schedule thread, and the specific game thread.
I just did it this way to get the games in and save threads. I can always post more soccer threads.
Looking for wins from England and Poland today. Still all jacked up from that USMNT match on Friday.
did the same thing buddy
no
Pulling for a Monaco resurgence, as well as at least something halfway interesting to follow in the other match.

Absolutely.
Really not enjoying how there's a commercial break every minute thirty seconds here. Feels like I'm watching M football.
