Super Bowl Ring Wearing Coordinators

Yes, because we remember how well it worked out the last time we had a coordinator that won a Super Bowl ring.  I believe that coordinator was named....GERG!

Founders Dirty Bastard after

Founders Dirty Bastard after a great day of fishing in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Dantonio to South Carolina

Would that have been the reason that Spurrier was at Ann Arbor a few weeks ago? To influence his possible replacement. Interesting.

I thought this was a thread

I thought this was a thread about drinking Windsor to excess.

I was in Section 9 Row 39

I was in Section 9 Row 39 this last week and will be again for the Illinois game.  Everyone was very into the game around us.  The older gent next to me was very into the action and usually jumped out of his seat quicker than the "kids" in front of us. It was a great start for the home season for the longtime ticket holders as they greeted each other and asked how the last 9 months have been. High fives all aournd on great plays and much yelling at important defensive plays. Not a bad crowd to spend a few Saturdays with each fall.

I was at the 2000 game

I was at the 2000 game against Wisconsin for the 800th win and I have tickets to Illinois. Considering that getting to two games in a year because of distance is a great year for me, it would be tremendous to be at the 900th victory too. It is destiny!

Lewan looks like he just

Lewan looks like he just rolled out of bed, but I do appreciate how he owns the responsibility for his play.  As one of my former coaches would always say, "It all starts at the line."

While I don't think we should

While I don't think we should currently be ranked in the top 15, I can understand where the Air Force coach might firmly believe this.  He has likely been studying tape on Michigan for weeks.  The Alabama game may be an anomoly from his point of view and just the last chapter in his scouting report. He is also going to be respectful of his current enemy as any good student or coach at an academy should be.  Not too surprised here.

It was good to hear from

It was good to hear from Fitz.....sounds like our team captains are leading, Fitz is repentant, and Coach Hoke has the respect of everyone in the locker room.  It is also great to hear that the basketball coaches take an interest in the football players too.

It will be good for Fitz to put this behind himself on the field on Saturday.

Looking at this at an

Looking at this at an educational or parental level.....sometimes Coach Hoke is protecting his players from both the media and the fans. We are making speculation here, but we cannot destroy Furman's character because of whatever he did because we honestly don't know what he did.  For example, if a friend of the family asked why my son was grounded for a reason unknown to this friend, I would not feel obligated to tell this friend.  It would be between me and my son.   Coach Hoke does view these young men as family and mentors them in fatherly manner.

I don't necessarily like that I don't know what Furman did to not travel, but I'm willing to live with it.

I actually changed shirts

I actually changed shirts after each Bama touchdown. Figured that was the problem.   I gotta do some laundry.

Drinking coffee....my liver

Drinking coffee....my liver hurts too bad to drink anything else this morning.

I'm sure we'll see more

I'm sure we'll see more Pipkins, Bolden, and Ross on defense. All three showed promise last night.

We are not shocked by this.

We are not shocked by this.  I'm glad that Brady is holding these young men accountable and keeping the perspective that the team is trumps all. A tough call, but it is the right call.

I was too young to actually

I was too young to actually remember my first game, but the first game I remember was 1976 vs. Minnesota...a 45-0 blowout.

I'm looking forward to taking my youngest son to his first game at the Big House next weekend.  I can't wait to see his face with all the pageantry of pregame (not to mention the game itself). It will make 14 hours in the car worth it!

Work, Schmerk......

The only thing keeping me focused right now is the fact that I need to decide what brand of whiskey to buy for tomorrow and planning consumption levels that will not leave me drooling on the floor before the game is over.

Looking at UConn's offensive

Looking at UConn's offensive stats tells a bit of the story too.  They had 8 different receivers with catches with an average of 14.1 yards per catch.  It must have looked like Old Country Buffet for the Husky QB's.

UMASS specials had issues too if they gave up an average of 21.8 yards per punt return.

Ugly football!

I can't imagine being this

I can't imagine being this poor guy.  The best he can hope for is that this gets him free drinks in Akron for the rest of his life.

Starting out with a local

Starting out with a local scotch ale from Tyrannena Brewery called Rocky's Revenge and then finishing the night by sipping a Laphroaig.....at least that is what I wish.  Just drinking whatever drain cleaner I can find in the back of the cabinet and saving my coin for an awesome day on Saturday.

Zone Read Left look to a QB

Zone Read Left look to a QB oh-no to Gallon taking a good bit of real estate.

Man, did they even pull that play out last year?

Watched Michigan vs. Illinois

Watched Michigan vs. Illinois and Northwestern from last year again today.......The offense was giving me fits, but it was nothing that a good 7 and 7 couldn't cure as I knew they won both games.  Almost a 1/3 of Denard's INTs from one season in two games...and I had the pleasure of being at both.  I've deleted both from the DVR and have watched 8 of the 11 wins in the last week.  Hope I have the time to watch UTL and the Ohio game this week.  Go Blue!

My Prediction....

Most of the bottle of whisky gone by the end of the first half.

Oh, the game....well, with most of the Bronco defense gone and with a brand-spankin'-new QB for Boise State, I'm afraid that Sparty will be 1-0 by the end of the night without much effort spent.

But I'd be happy if I'm proved wrong.

I guess I'll be watching it

I guess I'll be watching it here as we don't have the luxury of enjoying FSDetroit here in Wisconsin.  Ugh!  Didn't BTN run Inside Michigan Football in the past or am I just remembering a lifetime ago when I lived in Flint?

I can understand the two whisky bottles

But the cat duct taped to the ceiling.......I'm glad you don't have a large dog.  I don't want to even consider the bodily fluids.  However, I do hope you are right about the win.

Saul Goodman

It was good to see Saul again.....I was wondering when he's show up again.  It seems to demonstrate that the legal aspects will be taking focus again.

Wasn't he not he unsettled by Mike's return?  He seemed pretty comfortable in this episode.

Anyway, like I was sayin',

Anyway, like I was sayin', Brandon is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, Brandon-kabobs, Brandon creole, Brandon gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple Brandon, lemon Brandon, coconut Brandon, pepper Brandon, Brandon soup, Brandon stew, Brandon salad, Brandon and potatoes, Brandon burger, Brandon sandwich. That- that's about it.

To Me

My dad is a Michigan alum, the first in his family to graduate from college. He's had season tickets since 1968.  I remember going to games and getting to sit on my dad's lap in section 4 as a little shaver.  The long walk in from parking on Granger was always full of stories and laughs.  My dad would take all three of us boys to at least one game a year as older kids.  I had a chance to play DIII football in MN and took it for college, but pined for Michigan games all four years. Now, I've lived in Wisconsin for the last 17 years and have been able to get to about a game a year with either my brothers or dad....and now my sons.  This year my boys will get to see Air Force and Illinois with me.  I think we'll park on Granger and enjoy that same long walk. The family gets a glorious wakening with MMB's Saturday Tradition playing when breakfast is ready on Saturday mornings in the fall and the world does actually stop upon kickoff.

Ah, Donna's

One of the few things I miss about growing up in Flint.  That and Halo Burger.

Brought a tear to my eye as I

Brought a tear to my eye as I remember listening to that homecoming game on the radio with my dad as he jumped around the room yelling when Ufer made the call.  The three of us boys were doing the same.

My kids experienced the same euphoria with me on Saturday night!

The video brought together two of my favorite Michigan moments.  Thanks.

Oh, Mike.....you speak in

Oh, Mike.....you speak in hyperbole as usual.

0-0

Tough question.....easy answer.  0-0 tie with both coaches going at it in a no-holds-barred death match for the win instead of overtime.

Actually, I usually root for the Big Ten in non-conference games, but I can't stand the thought of MSU going 3-0.   I'll quietly pull for the Irish in this one, but will be content to know that one of them loses for certain.

B Herron's two TD's

Can you talk about NCAA taking away WMU stats? “You know what, that’s their decision.” Did you need an explanation? “No.” Did you care? “No. It’s a W, right?”

So Herron's two scores won't show in the record books....dang!

Too bad for him as it was good to see him shine for a moment.

Steak Sauce

"At the end of the speech he said, 'Men, we're going to be eating steaks,' " said former Michigan linebacker Mike Elston, now Notre Dame's defensive line coach. "Then he drank a whole bottle of A1 sauce."

That explains the voice!

Also Consider the Effectiveness of the Running Backs

Fitz ripped a 43 yard run and averaged 7.9 yards per carry.

Shaw blew past everyone for a 44 yard TD run and averaged 13.5 yards per carry.

Michigan had 181 yards rushing through just a little under three quarters and didn't have to rely on Denard's legs as he only carried the ball 8 times.

Just stupid.

Concussion Recovery Test

I'm pretty sure it is a part of a battery of tests that trainers use to measure recovery from concussions.

I'm just not sure why they would be doing that in the stadium rather than the practice facility.

No socks!

Thanks for the video link.

I love the fact that Hoke went without socks for the video shoot.  Definately comfortable with himself.

Also found it interesting that guys were doing concussion testing in the stadium as they interviewed Mattison.

To quote Clark W. Grizwold...
