This list is completely arbitrary and not a genuine analysis of the relative merits of state fossils.

| 2 weeks 3 days ago | Interesting that he has |
Interesting that he has USC/ND in his top 5 because I'm not sure they have even offered. OU is interesting because that is obviously where our old DL coach now works. |

I think they both will get offered and it will be a first come first serve spot. |

Are you saying rivals says that he is a ND lean? |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | So....I'm left to wonder |
So....I'm left to wonder why they don't rank him higher. Also, it's not that big of a strech for them to say that because his rating of 89 is equal to the #23 player in the country so even ESPN doesn't distinguish him from a top 25 prospect that greatly. Obviously, it's better that he makes the list rather than not...but it seems kind of foolish to me, overall. |

What does close mean in this situation? |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | I mean they say someone |
I mean they say someone outside of the top 25 who performs above their rankings...but Derrick walton has the same "rating" as the 23rd ranked player in the class of 89 so I'm not sure if they even distinguish a difference between them. It just seems kind of silly to call him a "sleeper". To me, nobody is really a sleeper in the top 50 and I feel like sleepers are players like LeVert or Spike. I suppose it's semantics but I feel like if he was a "sleeper" like they suggest, then they should just rank him higher. |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | I don't know much about ND's |
I don't know much about ND's OL situation, but since we just picked up a OL commit my maize and blue goggles want me to beleive that his commitment may have accelerated Bar's timeline. Pure Speculation though. |

http://insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/basketball/mens/story/_/id/9231151/top-five-sleepers-final-2013-espn-100-player-rankings This article has Derrick Walton as #1 on their sleeper list. I'm a little confused by this list though because they define sleeper as "players outside our top 25 who could outperform their final recruiting ranking at the next level." I don't see why they don't just rank the players higher, who they beleive to be sleepers. Regardless, nice to see a michigan recruit on the list. Anyone care to post the others? |

| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Interestingly, ESPN seems to |
Interestingly, ESPN seems to do a pretty good job, with Brundidge being their only true miss (other services all missed too). ESPN had vogrich the lowest and Burke the highest. That being said, every roster needs players like vogrich, so he was only a miss in the sense that expectations were much higher for him, but his role was still important. |

They didn't have the 6 out of the top 25 players then. They also were missing Noel too, not saying that they shouldn't have been able to beat them. Next years Kentucky team will be very good. I look forward to their early season matchup with Msu. |

Gallon sure, but I don't really equate dileo with "speed". He runs great routes and seems to understand how to get open in space and position himself to gain yards after the catch but he's hardly the home run threat that you make him out to be in contrast with other wrs we have recruited. |

247 and espn have him as 4* but scout and rivals have him as a 3*. I wonder if he will rise on the latter when rankings are updated. |

As mentioned earlier in the thread, he is moving up his Stanford visit and will decide after that. Unless, he is totally blown away by Stanford, I think we are in good shape. |

His latest tweet... I wasn't sure if this was thread-worthy by itself. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | I think it's important that |
I think it's important that he is a 7 footer, his handles shouldn't be expected to be at the level of a guard, but they are terrific, especially at this juncture in his career. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | I don't have insider but from |
I don't have insider but from the preview portion of the ESPN scouting report... "The left-handed Zimmerman is extremely skilled and his IQ for the game is impressive. He can nail threes, jump hooks, and his passing is high-level. At the elbow his vision is impeccable as is his patience of waiting for the play to develop." So it seems as if he has the range, fairly developed offensive arsenal, etc. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | It's not just us mgoblog |
It's not just us mgoblog poster's that seem to think he is very good...espn has him as the #5 person in that class (granted it's early) but he is most certainly an elite prospect. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/1429... |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | I get a lot of the optimism |
I get a lot of the optimism about him shooting up the rankings (to 4* level) but I seem to remember similar thoughts about Channing Stribling (for example) in the last class and he never really made that jump in terms of rankings. That being said, I think Ways is a good prospect, but perhaps people should temper expectations slightly. |

| 4 weeks 2 hours ago | This. I tailgated/drank |
This. I tailgated/drank before every football game and made every game on time. I think that, together, thats what made my michigan football experience unique and great. It's not just about getting drunk before the game, it's the festive atmosphere that goes along with pregaming, having people over before games, etc. If, instead, I spend those hours waiting in line...I'm not sure how anyone can argue that the experience is made better. There are other ways to incentive early arrival and to penalize people for not showing up on time, aside from making it GA. |
