I would be curious to see if there is any statistical difference in 2*/low 3* recruits that commit to programs like osu, bama, fsu, notre dame, us, etc and how they end up versus their peers in other programs.

Devin Funchess ran a 4.70 40 yd dash at the combine...Gary's 40 time says more about him and his ELITE athleticism than anything else.

I wonder what this means for Andrew David, if anything? Harbaugh must have really liked Nordin or really felt uncomfortable with David, as I am not sure how common it is it for schools to have 2 scholarship kickers on their roster (+ scholarship punter).

While some of the higher ranked guys didn't pan out, isn't that class the core group of guys that has us thinking potential playoff candidates next year?

Don Brown must be loving ife right now... Lewis/Gary/Peppers on his defense now. Wow.

If somehow the 247 guys lose out to the twitter theory, then I am all in. Nevertheless, an interesting test case.

At this stage in the game, a local player with offers from Iowa/MSU/Wisco is a good solution for me. All three of those programs have done a very goob job with their o-lines recently.

Based on a tweet I just saw recapping Isiah Simmon's most recent twitter follows nclude....Rashan Gary, Nate Johnson, Nick Eubanks, Joe Hastings (UM Defensive Graduate Assistant), Clemson Co-OC, and Harbaugh. According to WD's twitter follower dogma, this is good news for his announcement tomorrow at 5pm for us. This would run counter to his crystal ballz by Wilfong and Shurburtt to Clemson (National 247 guys).

I think we close out the class with 5 pretty sure recruits...
The last spot is a little more in flux.
I Simmons/C Murphy (the 2 most likely candidates).

Basically, its Harbaugh's way of trying to help that 2017 year out with as many bodies as he can and hope he can turn one of them into Kerridge/Glasgow/Kovacs/Heinenger level production then it is a coup.

Think someone mentioned it was Hudson to Pitt earlier. Doesn't seem to be any cause for concern.

I don't think so. Asiasi and him will fill different roles as a TE. Asiasi also could play defense too, if for some reason Harbaugh thought there were too many TEs.

Oh boy...his statement is only going to add fuel to the fire that was just dying down. Let's just fast forward to signing day and be happy :)
|13 weeks 5 days ago||I think it's mainly difficult||
I think it's mainly difficult to break into the state for the new state given how well OSU and MSU are doing. ND did very well this year as well in Ohio.
Also, look at next years situation...pretty deep state but so many of the top kids are already committed to OSU...makes it tough. (6 out of top 12 already).

Just checked the updated crystal balls and osu picked up a couple more recently :(

Luckily, Harbaugh has already met Simmons. So this OV is likely for him to see campus and meet DC Brown. Hopefully, it wont be an issue that they aren't there.

Also, nice note on twitter... Brice Marich: NJ CB Jordan Fuller on Michigan recruiting New Jersey: "The effort they're putting in to get Jersey guys means something."
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Frankly, regardless of any of||
Frankly, regardless of any of his offers/film/ratings, I would take him to basically seal the deal with Gary - so its a moot point.
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Only problem is that||
Only problem is that typically larger classes will have lower avg star ratings because its difficul to filll a class of 30 with all elite talent vs. a class of 18 assuming that schools are only "in it" for a finite group of elite recruits and that some high level recruits only want to be a part of a class with a finite number of elite recruits at their position.
247 adjusts for class size pretty fairly in my opinion. They basically make it so that your lower rated recruits contribute incrementally smaller amounts to the class score. For example, removing the lowest 5 ranked recruits from our class drops our overall score to 263.65 from 267.47 (we would actually still be #3). I
n other words, big classes don't really inflate the rankings that much at all but do take into account that one of the bottom 10 players may emerge into willie henry type and therefore should probably be included in the ratings in some fashion.
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Helps when your home state||
Helps when your home state has 2 5* and 19 4* and there is no other in-state competition. They may likely sweep the top 10 in their state. I think they may end up with 17 of those 21...crazy.
Also, 14/22 current commits are from LA.
LSU is one of the best jobs in the nation for this reason and this is why Les is going to continue to be on the hot seat if he doesn't make the playoffs.

|13 weeks 6 days ago||Honestly, this is the first||
Honestly, this is the first time I heard this and it makes total sense now that I think of it. With how strong msu and osu have been off late, why fight with them there when NJ is a considerably easier state to break into with Rutgers in the shitter.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||I beleive that both of these||
I beleive that both of these players started playing football late, so there is defintely more potential there. I wonder if that was one of Brown's strategies in terms of identifiying late blooming talent for BC.
