As a fellow South Bend(er?) resident and educator I feel your pain and desire for pity. Of my 4 locations (Fort Wayne, Valpo, Indy, and now here) it's by far the worst. Weak restaurants, not close to anything in particular, weather is so bi-polar it's quite frustrating.
Being a resident of the area I can assure you how much the restaurant/brewery scene isn't great. I'm fully planning to tailgate and then watch the game from home to avoid the Irish stink. Here are a few ideas.
Mishawaka is close to campus (ten minutes with no traffc) and Evil Czech Brewery. Pretty unique menu and they are known for their duck. It's better than you'd think if you've never had it. Really unique beer selection too. There's a pretty wide variety of breweries and wineries in southwest Michigan if you have a little more time or the day before the game to avoid some of the crowds in Berrien Springs and Buchanan.
Sad though that it was such an tight game against a lackluster team but guess fans shouldn't be complaining about NCAA wins (even if it was the first four).
No faith in the new coach? Haha for your sake and since I don't get to games anymore, hope you get the chance to see him play some next year in the ARC.
and grew up an Illini fan and was very close to Bryce Drew. I'd call his interest even if Michigan is interested slim or none. Although I would say that he's graduating in three years and if Belein ever had interest in a great kid for the program personality wise, Peters would be it.
to high school with his step-sister and still keep in touch every once in a while (especially the last few days) through the magic of facebook. He has one set of grandparents and 2 step-sisters still living. The 2 sisters are doing well considering the circumstances and the hospital is overcrowded with support. Just get over to Caring Bridge if you can and post anything positive. Maria, Brittany, and company truly appreciate it.
we did was send my buddy's 12 and 9 year old brothers to the front lobby area of the United Center. Technically you aren't out until you leave the building and the older folk were happy to pass their stubs over to a cute kid. Especially those who had rooted for the winning team.
the Usher's are pretty much pricks when it comes to moving down. If you're staying for the second game or going with any kids (preferably younger) have them stand by the doorsand ask the people leaving for their stubs. Would be a cool experience to see Duke up close... especially if Hampton makes things interesting for awhile.
that all the coaches will be named between now and September. If they're not then that will be quite an interesting strategy played by Mr. Hoke and company.
was RR's first press conference pretty blah? Because this was a well-spent hour in my day watching a guy who completely sold me on how great this program has been and will be.
Braylon has said before he's not taking a shot at anyone and I believe him. I think he, like most on this board, just appreciate LC's tenure a lot more now.
really? What about that did anything expect give the facts? I just enjoy seeing MSU lose... my apologies I thought they were one of our (lesser) rivals.
didn't have much time left but that out of bounds play was god awful. Don't even think that was a three that Crawford(?) threw up there at the end. Good thing MSU was playing a poor Big Ten team and not a good one...

really wanted to honor Gwynn they'd do something about chewing tobacco and its prevention.

minus the fact that it was Tulsa not Tulane...

but that shit-eating scowl on Mork and the grin from Harbaugh is just beautiful...
burn it and get something new there. I love the new rennovations but the seats still suck and there are LOTS of awful seats in that place.
or at least the northwest part. Pretty common to have it as part of the summer school curriculum
Dustin Johnson isn't exactly a model citizen from what I've heard...
Hatch... or John Belein for sticking with him through everything.
Mark Grace seemed sober during that interview
Sorry.....

the coach at Ga Tech or did he get fired? Seems like an odd mistake to make.
edit: fired and now at GMU...

a bad thing.
touche. Site has been fine for me.
just wondering
or were those opening ceremonies the most cheesy thing ever?
since our last Dong Punch apparently

229
just 8 12 seeds playing for 4 spots.
just stating something that adds to the debate...
with a good thing? Seriously, March Madness is arguably the greatest sporting event we have. Why screw with it?
Minnesota extremely well in the Tubby and Belein era and I really don't see tonight being any different

Defense NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
because Ball State was darn near the worst D-1 football team in the nation before he got there.
about 90% of the time

Hello Les Miles Post!
according to jailbait.com
Color me skeptical... wait is that an optiton?
Yeah, that happened.
watched for about ten minutes and got bored. Didn't notice him out there.

simply because it gives me something to do with my Saturday while sitting in the midst of a northwest Indiana snowstorm.
with that is what? I meant...
I guess you're not tired of reading all the CC posts and are looking for that change of mind JH is going to have during halftime of the Stanford game?
