If you want to "bottom-line" it, then yeah. You could say that. I was never going to go to oSucks. Mostly because of UM football, but also because I don't like the city of Columbus.
But there were other factors at play, as there always are when selecting a college. Michigan was always the first choice. And after it didn't work out, location became the primary factor in my selection process because I wanted to be close to my family. Is that any less idiotic?
1) Cleveland, OH
2) Grandfather was a professor at UM. It trickled down.
First UM memory is when Biakabutuka ran wild against tOSU (was in early grade school). And being from Cleveland, '97 is the only title I've experienced in any sport. So it definitely goes down as one of the best years of my life, no doubt!
EDIT: Originally posted a long and pointless post filled with some degree of hostility toward your reaction.
Anyway, the jist was that I'd love to defend my "assertion" with some evidence. But outside of scanning my acceptance letters and sending them to you, there's no real way to do that. So we'll just agree to leave my credibility in question for the time being. Because I do, after all, realize that my story bears semblance to snake oil. Oh well.
Kent State out of high school. It wasn't Maize and Blue but, chromatically speaking, it was pretty close I guess. Transferred after a couple, but the story gets long from there.
I'm captain of a very similar ship. Same fleet, anyway. I was deferred and then rejected (Ohio resident) by Michigan out of high school.
I was probably as borderline as candidates get too. It was the only school that rejected me; and I was offered a scholarship to Indiana, and was admitted to tOSU's Honors Program (my mom sent the application under my name) despite not writing the optional essay. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to go Big Ten and not Go Blue.
Anyway, still a fan to the core. Maybe I'll validate it by getting a PHD from UM in my old age.
I got a 650 and didn't even bother applying to Ross.
Wasn't an easy decision though, and I did a ton of research beforehand. If you're not mortgaging your dinner to do so, make the investment in yourself and take a class. Aim for 700+.
Feel bad for Andrews. She seems like a genuine sweetheart. My friend showed me this video earlier this year. At the time, I thought for sure it'd be the worst she'd have to put up with.

Edit: This is not THAT video.
It's a sad commentary on last season that I have trouble disagreeing with that statement.
I'm not one to assess blame on any one factor in particular, because one thing always tended to compound another. It's just a shame that our guys were reduced to such an unfortunate circumstance. Generally speaking, though, I believe that you create your own luck, and that the environment of the program will be much more conducive to that process this season. Keep drinkin' that chocolate milk, gentlemen.
Off topic, though.
Spent most of the morning at work reading each of Brian's pieces over there. Interesting to see the material crafted for, well, his anti-audience.
Anyway, yeah. Some of the comments were downright remedial.
