you are so confident that the evidence in this case is insufficient to convict, why is the name of god would you want to pitch it to a jury? If you believe the evidence is insufficient on its face, why being 12 lay people of unknown emotional background and their own beliefs into the equation? And I said nothing about "lack of evidence before trial," only that the prosecutor would not of brought it unless they thought they could prove it. You simply don't know enough about this case to call it a 15 minute acquittal from this article even if you are a lawyer, police officer, farmer, and apparently a mortician as well.

probably wouldn't be a jury trial, it would probably be a bench trial. And they would not have brought charges on it if they did not think they could convict. Under advisement pleas or deferred sentencing agreements are good deals for otherwise upstanding people who made a mistake, etc. Also, I don't think he would want this to remain over his head heading into the draft.

sure this is a very common scenario and all, but all the same, I think it is safe practice not to engage in any unwanted physical contact with a woman. I guess that you could feasible get "shot to death" following this approach but I still think it is a wise policy.

autopsies. That has to be kind of creepy, huh?

agree with XtraMelanin also that you don't want to rush to judgment, but you also don't want to completely discount the accuser with out good reason. The police thought they had enough evidence to arrest and evidently the prosecutor thinks they have enough evidence to bring charges so I would not dismiss it out of hand that a criminal act occurred.
|1 day 16 hours ago||Wow,||
that is a lot of words.

will likely plead under advisement, do some anger management and domestic violence classes and eventually the matter will be dismissed if he complies. That would be my guess at first glance, assuming no criminal history which I assume he doesn't.
There can be a middle ground between "argument gone bad" and "really terrible things." A police report can describe a very brief incident in great detail, giving the impression that the incident took a lot longer to happen than it did. It is likely that this entire thing took under 5 seconds, and that both were either intoxicated or really, really mad, which could tamper with both of their memories of the event. If that is the case it is likely that neither one truly remembers exactly what happenned and they both did their fair share of bating the other.
When you hear the word "drag," Ray Rice comes to mind. This does not sound like that. I think if he does and says the right things and means them that this won't have any effect on his draft stock. More importantly, hopefully he learns to get out of that situation before either side has the chance to do something they can't take back.

seems pretty clear. Just pick random Kansas fans off or Facebook or Twitter and send them all of your credit card information sight unseen and ask them for their tickets.
Is there some kind of issue I am not seeing here?

did, after the inbound layup he gave up .4 seconds after being put it that made me kick my dog. (Gently)

noon games stop now.

the first half I was positive we needed to double and the first four minutes of the 2nd only convinced me more, but then we started to help on time. Just in the nick of time. I guess that is why John Beilein is a 20 year D-1 basketball coach and I am just some internet dude. But Louisville was much more skilled down low than even I thought as well.
|3 days 12 hours ago||I||
thought we got a favorable whistle is the second half. Refs were bad in the last four minutes of the first half, but both of the bad calls were bang-bang plays. We don't have to be the "bad refs" people all the time.
|3 days 12 hours ago||I||
did not realize how rough of a matchup this was until it started, and then I really understood, quickly.
|3 days 12 hours ago||Two||
very good basketball teams. Playing offense against Louisville is like playing offense with somebody Velcro-ed to your face. Glad that one is behind us. Congrats to the team and GO BLUE.
|4 days 8 hours ago||Not really,||
there was no indication that such a turnaround was coming. Levert and Spike were holding their own in relief and we were up 11, humming along. It went from 13 to 2 in the blink of an eye. If Beilein would have had any indication of what was coming he probably would have brought Burke back. But fatigue was seemingly not an issue and we were getting good shots. Given that set of facts, I think it was a reasonable calculation to try to ride out that last four minutes w/out Trey. Beilein likely thought that any Louisville run would have got it down to 7 or 8, not 1. Hancock just went Spike. Granted, our defensive pressure was lacking, but GR3 was inexplicably sagging off him and I don't think Burke would have changed that.

is actually some pretty high level analysis. Well done.
|4 days 10 hours ago||That||
is, if we can keep Wagner in the game with his defense. He was such a defensive liability yesterday he barely played in the second half. Seriously, Donnal is a poor defender but Wagner seriously gave up 10 layups in limited time yesterday and was completely lost help side. I think we should double tommorow. If Louisville beats us we should make them do it from deep.

North Remembers, most importantly.
|4 days 12 hours ago||Me too,||
I just don't like the contrast with Pitino's effusive praise of Michigan. We are supposed to be the classy one damnit!!!
|4 days 12 hours ago||We||
lost focus and energy defensively to close the first half and stopped contesting shots. The refs didn't help, but we lost that game on defense in the final 5 minutes of the first half.
|4 days 12 hours ago||It||
is odd that he is discussing that though. That is very un-Beilein-like. Would hope that would be the furthest thing from his mind right now.
|4 days 13 hours ago||I||
really want to dislike Pitino, he is a scum bag, but he seems to genuinely enjoy Michigan basketball. He was effusive with his praise for us before and after the NCG as well.
|4 days 13 hours ago||No||
way Purdue is winning today. They have one of the worst coaches in basketball.
|4 days 14 hours ago||This.||
Very good take here.
|4 days 15 hours ago||I||
like OSU's traditional non-uniformz uniforms. Particularly their road unis late in the season with the full helmet sticker coverage. I hate OSU, but that is a cool traditional look.
|4 days 17 hours ago||Yeah,||
We only beat their best team in a decade on a legendary last second 30 footer in one of the best college basketball games of all time. Why would they possibly not like us?
|4 days 17 hours ago||I||
just find MSU so unlikeable. Like, I don't know how their fans even like them. I find everything about their athletic teams repulsive, their uniforms, their coaches, their colors, etc. etc. At least with OSU, I can see the appeal. I don't share in it, at all, but with their football team in particular, I see what their fans like about it. It is an attractive product, objectively. Michigan State is just gross.

too. I knew that was some dumb shit even when I was picking it.

tea. (This on the wagon thing is tough during March Madness). This has frankly been a pretty dull day of games. I think the Madness is going to begin tomorrow.
