I mean I’m not bitter about it but I get the sentiment from the OP and don’t get why he’s taking a neg bath. Wasn’t it Harbaugh himself that said something along the lines of, “you’re either with us or against us” when he got here? Kinda feels like that to me…
Picked up a couple in section 8 to bring my 17 year old to his first game in EL. It’s been a few years since I have been there for a game. Any recommendations on best place to park coming from the Ann Arbor area? Personally I would think it better to sit in traffic in your own car after the game than ride on a shuttle with a bunch of drunk and hopefully angry spartys?
I'm planning on watching the main ESPN broadcast and then listen in on Zach Linfield on WCBN YouTube feed after the first quarter. Zach is calling the 2nd, 3rd and 4th qtrs today and for anyone that hasn't listened to any of his game calls, the guy is legit.
The D still scares me a little but sweeping WMU knowing how much that team and entire fanbase circled that Saturday game on their schedule is impressive. I've been around M hockey long enough to see a lot of talented teams lose at Lawson. Still remember the '96 team being shutout 5-0 there...and things turned out pretty good that year.
The real test for Cole and Dexter will be when they play Saline. Huron will give them a little more fight than Pioneer but they will still cruise to a double digit win.
Not a total Star Wars geek but I have seen all the movies. I saw it opening night Thursday with my son and left the theater a little confused and unimpressed overall. After seeing it a second time with my daughter and wife I picked up on some of the subtleties and underlaying plot lines that make it good storytelling IMO. Still too many questions and holes not addressed in it for me to rank it up there with any of the first three films but still a lot of fun.
My guess is that Disney may still leave a lot of questions in the next film too and just keep circling back with Rogue One type films to answer some of the questions, create more questions and continue to clean out our wallets.
The interior is even more amazing. I am working on the graphics package for the project and the sports performance building and strength and conditioning areas are top notch on par with anyone in the country. The hydraulic track is an awesome thing to see as well. As the guy who is putting the lipstick on this pig I can tell you the graphics and casework will be amazing as well. Go Blue!
Brendan Morrison ended a long run of frustratingly close calls and OT heartbreak. Being there after following UM hockey for so long is to this day my greatest UM sports moment.
Being at the Rose Bowl in 1998 was a very close second.
Played little league and high school ball with Derek Jeter. His Dad was our little league coach and a great guy.
Sadly the last time I spoke to him was right before the Yankees signed him so I never got to mooch or join in his entourage.
I too grew up in Kazoo watching bronco hockey in the 90's (had season tickets for a few years) but my Dad went to UM and would take me to a few UM games. When I was about 12, Michigan came to Kazoo wearing the winged helmets and I switched over like a light switch. Culpable made that switch pretty easy actually.
There is actually a post season trophy case as well (and yes we made it big enough to hold the B1G Championship and National Championship trophies) The stress from making these took about 3 years off my life but it was cool working with coach and football staff to get them designed and built.
Played hockey in high school against Mike Knuble. I never saw the first shot he let go on me. I played with Derek Jeter on the same baseball team growing up if that counts.
Yeah cause even if two thirds of the CCM line goes pro he will still have a top 10 team coming back but two much better goaltenders. He must be delusional...let's just forfeit next season.
Do you even know what the "IT" factor is...? If Red doesn't have it then exactly who does? Red has had more championship level consistency in his career than any other coach out there besides maybe York. If Red didn't have John Gibson and Jack Campbell decomitt last minute he would have had the goaltending to go along with some of these super talented offensive teams. Plug in Campbell instead of Billy Sauer in the Frozen Four against ND or Gibson instead of Racine over the last couple years...there is your mythical missing "IT" factor.
Thanks Red! I am excited that he is coming back next year. Anyone that thinks the game has passed him by is nuts. As long as we don't lose 98% of our offense in the next few weeks we have some great talent coming in next year along with two pretty solid twiners that could be difference makers. Go Blue!
I like the add of ND. I miss the ability to make a quick road trip to reasonably local schools. I would like to see them add Miami or even WMU before someone like ASU.
Notre Dame is going to be a tough out but they have lost 5 of their last 6 and have to be a little shaken in the confidence department. Gotta get out to a fast start and not play from behind.
What I find a little odd is that nobody seems to have noticed that Cecconi stepped slightly into the shot and probably caused a slight delay in Racine's ability to track the puck properly out of the skates. As a goalie myself I have been in Racine's skates before and my "expert" analysis is that he was focused mainly on Novak and the shot from Fasching not only surprised him, but also came out of the skates of Cecconi which was the perfect storm for a bad goal. In the end you expect a senior goalie to make that save but you also have to give Fasching some credit....it was a heavy ass shot and perfectly placed.
Yes! Yes it was!! I had grown up watching UM struggle back into relevance and come so close in the early 90's. 1996 validated all my suffering and 98 was the cherry on top of the football sundae... Sorry you couldn't be there for the spoils brotha but it was so worth the suffering! LOL
Best performance by a Michigan hockey team in a long time! Totally focused, good positioning, took away time and space and rock solid goal tending. Hopefully we can put together another one tomorrow! Go Blue!

I thought I read someplace that Herbie says that Les Miles will be the next HC at Michigan...
