Plus SD to HD was a huge shift and a very noticeable shift. Much clearer picture and bigger picture. 1k/2k to 4K is really only noticeable on giant screans. And even then it's not that amazing in the way SD to HD was.
|1 day 14 hours ago||I doubt it'll happen anytime||
I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. The cost involved to develop the bandwidth and infrastructure to broadcast 4K is hugely expensive. Considering all the cable networks are pinching pennies, it ain't gonna happen. SD to HD was a government mandated shift. No one outside of marketers cares about 4K.
|1 day 14 hours ago||No. And they aren't going to.||
No. And they aren't going to. It's a massively expensive upgrade for the video provider and supplier to get 4K video broadcast to your TV and since most TVs are in the 50" range you can't even tell much difference between 720p or 4K. Most people don't even broadcast in 1080p for the same reasons. Like ESPN for instance broadcasts in 720p.

All three of MSU's players voted against MSU. #selfdisrespekt

Jim McElwain and Jim Harbaugh are both college coaches. There. What are you going to do now?
|3 days 19 hours ago||Got kicked off, didn't he?||
Pretty sure Treon essentially got kicked off the team, and this wasn't a voluntary transfer. He wasn't a part of the team from like January to just recently when he "returned to school and began working out"...whatever that means.
Kid had a long rap sheet of off-field issues. May have just hit strike #3, and Jimmy Mac told him to kick rocks.

What is the case again for Davis NOT getting a 6th year? To me, it seems like pretty open and shut 6th year scenario. Missed all of last season, his 5th with injury, seems like that's a case for a 6th year. What am I missing?

I can see that complaint then. But, its also tough to see who could play that role. You're kinda limited to like The Rock and....1998 Arnold?

How dare you speak ill of Face Off or Con-Air.
|5 days 16 hours ago||Gone Girl||
I liked him in Gone Girl too. He played a good philandering and clueless husband. Must've done some good character research on that one...
|5 days 16 hours ago||CONFESSION: I liked him||
I know nothing about the Jack Reacher story or universe outside of that movie, but I liked Cruise in that role. The smug know-it-all action guy is his wheelhouse.
|5 days 17 hours ago||LOL||
Um....Colin Farrell is Irish. Not really sure what that says about his actual legit Irish accent or your judgement of Irish accents.
|5 days 19 hours ago||Yeah, I like them for the||
Yeah, I like them for the reasons you listed too. They are always "we need to fight out of necessity" fight scenes filled with "here's a book, it's the only weapon I have, so I'm going fuck you up with it" moments.
|5 days 19 hours ago||If you're going big cinematic||
If you're going big cinematic fight scenes, I might go with the Battle of the Bastards from Game Of Thrones. That was really well done on several fronts.

Oh God...forgot about that one. That's a classic.

Always liked the Bourne movie fights because they feel natural - both in terms of action and plot. And on a related note, the Mini Cooper chase scene from the first one is an easy top 3 chase scene for me.
|1 week 1 day ago||I don't know. Some people||
I don't know. Some people just can't get it no matter what. I went to a solid half dozen or more camps he attended and at every camp, every coach told him to use a lighter touch on the ball and not throw a fast ball when it's a 5 yard pass.
|1 week 1 day ago||Yes and no. It is a big||
Yes and no. It is a big reaction based off of one week, but it's also a week their scouts can actually see players in person instead of film and see how they do compared to equal talent.
|2 weeks 8 hours ago||It's both. He can't get all||
It's both. He can't get all the credit for ID'ing talent and none of the blame when those guys don't work out. If you're a position coach you gotta contribute more than recruiting...and I'm not even sure how much he helped out there.
|2 weeks 17 hours ago||I don't think anyone has||
I don't think anyone has really questioned Jackson's eye for talent. But knowing what to do with it once he got it has been an issue for about a decade. We've had talented backs that can't block, can hit holes, and can't generally do anything at all until they go elsewhere. That's on Jackson.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Whole new WR corp||
Of Notre Dame's top 6 pass catchers last season, only Torii Hunter Jr returns. The only other returning player with more than 10 catches is freshman TE Alize Jones. That's one hell of a rebuild.
But they do have Kizer and Adams, which helps a lot.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Return some important pieces too||
They only return 6 starters, but amongst those is Barrett, Elflein, McMillan, and Lewis -- four very solid dudes. And if you can only pick 4 to return, your QB, center, MLB, and a solid DE would probably be the four.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||I think the inexperience will||
I think the inexperience will bite them against Oklahoma, but by the time they play Michigan they'll be plenty experienced.
But still...3 returning starters on offense, and 3 on defense? That's a whole hell of a lot to replace, and that almost never goes well for a team.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Not mad, just saying openly||
Not mad, just saying openly cheering for random people to lose their jobs is a shitty thing to do.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||No I wasn't cheering for||
No I wasn't cheering for people to lose their jobs. I did want Dave Brandon to lose his, but k wasn't cheering for random people to lose theirs in collateral damage.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Cool||
Cool. I'll let some of the people I know that were laid off know it was for a good cause. That'll help pay their mortgage.
I mean...y'all realize there's a handful of people that work at ESPN that read this blog and are part of the community, right? And you're still dicks anyways? Its a sports network. Maybe you being a little miffed that people say things on air that you don't agree with or in a manner you don't like isn't quite worth wishing ill will on the people that work there.

Cool thanks for the feedback. I was unaware how economies and job marketplaces worked. And thanks for letting me know my post was full of shit. I really value your opinion.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||TV is a small world||
TV is a small shrinking world. Jobs aren't easy to find and that's before you flood the marketplace with people.
And either way, throwing out a "find another job" is still a shitty thing to say. Gonna guess that you probably wouldn't like it if people openly cheered for your industry to collapse so you and your family had to move states to find new employment in likely an entirely different field (because if ESPN goes down, the entire cable TV industry has likely collapsed).
You may not like ESPN, but there are thousands of people that work there that have nothing to do with the opinions of some on TV. Plenty of us don't like them just as much as you.

Thanks for cheering for hundreds and/or thousands of people to have their livelihood's taken away. You're a real blessing on society.

Considering there are Russian investors involved and allegations of improper expense account usage, it would certainly make a good story arc.
Sounds like something Gavin Belson would get into.
