I lived in São Paulo during Michigan's run to the championship game in hoops 2 years back. All of the games were shown at an Irish pub called O'Malleys that doubled as the unofficial expat bar in the city. Seeing as this is the first football game of the season you might be able to catch it there with some fellow Wolverines. If you're not in São Paulo then totally disregard this
I had to take my Michigan sticker off of my car to stop moron townies from kicking it/spitting on it. The stadium experience was just as bad, and I was sitting in an alumni section. I expect degenerate behavior from students, and even understand it, but not from 35 year old adults (or whatever they are in East Lansing - certainly not adults). When Tate threw the tying touchdown pass as time expired, I politely stood up and clapped and got punch in the back by a woman. When I confronted her, she told me it was "because I am a douchebag Michigan fan." Security laughed. On the way home was the usual fraternity bros throwing bottles and middle fingers at us. I have never driven faster back to AA and haven't been back since, or will ever go again.
The Internet is so full of big empty talkers and mostly devoid of people who actually back up those words with actions. Its such common occurrence in these situations for commenters to, as Brian put it, puff up themselves and condemn these things. It's solely to make them feel better about themselves, nothing more. How about actually volunteering at a women's abuse shelter, or stop an action if you are in the position to? Stop wasting your time to comment that "you despise all who hurt women" and "fuck that piece of shit" and go do something about it.
I can't believe this is a serious candidate. I live in Pittsburgh and can tell you that this guy is scum. He didn't even have to guts to text his players: he texted an assistant coach to tell his players he left. He also only coached one year at Rice. This guy would be the absolute worst possible hire. The supposed talent of recruits vs talent on Saturdays is as big if a gap as I've ever seen. Player development is laughable. D line is his specialty and ever since Mike Martin left we haven't had a single rush presence.
