RR has two more years, unless he goes 3-9 again.  My worst fear is that he'll win nine games and we'll be stuck with this jerkwad until he pulls something really troublesome like his slush fund at WVU.  I don't like him, and I want him gone.  But you have to give him four years.  Frankly, I don't see more than 6 wins this year.  ND and Indiana last year were gifts from the football gods.  Only PSU and ILL lost ground - everyone else will be as good or better than last year.  The D lost its three best players and you don't get better by subtraction - there is no one the equal of Graham, Warren or Brown at those positions.  There are no proven RBs or WRs.  And even if Forcier is the second coming of Fran Tarkenton and Denard is a Donovan McNabb clone, they will have to outscore everyone.  I don't see that happening.

One year away from a ten win season? So that would make it four losing seasons to get back to Carr-like numbers. Well, fer sher, that's progress!
Your fear is my dream My dream is that DickFraud wins three games, gets the axe and the new guy comes in and wins nine.
Big Words Were routinely taught in my grade and high schools. I used them extensively at the University of Michigan in 1979-81. Disagreeing doesn't make me a troll, being obnoxious about it does.
Homer Simpson??? Okay, Homer, I despise DickFraud, too. But his next Big Ten road win will be his second in three years. The only reason Nick Sheridan beat Minnesota two years ago in the dome is that Minnehaha was devastated by their last minute loss to Northwestern the week before. Indiana will be playing at home and wanting payback for getting jobbed on the interception by Warren last year. ND will also be playing at home, and weird shit happens to Michigan in ND Stadium. UConn beat ND in South Bend last year, and ND was a better team than Michigan. Randy Edsall will have his team jacked up to beat Michigan in the Big House. I think each of these games will be losses. Michigan's D will not be improved by losing their best players. Yes, our offense will improve, but they were second to last in the B10 in conference offensive stats. Eastern and Western are weaker than Uconn and Umass and those games, along with Baby Seal U gave M the gaudy offensive averages. I see 5 - 7 or 4 - 8.
Dantonio gets the rivalry That means that Dantonio shares the passion that comes with playing your hated, in-state rival. Unlike DickFraud who intellectually understands that the fans are emotionally involved in the rivalry, but is genetically and pathologically unable to share in that passion. To him it's, "Uh, yeah, I get it - it's a big game." To Dantonio, it's more like, "I loathe those assholes in blue, and want to rip off their heads and shit down their necks and if we don't beat them I will want to eat my own children for dinner!" Understand now, moron?
The Captain Is obviously in the middle of his/her hormonal cycle today. The need to disagreeably disagree is strong with you!
"The High" and sports Geez, what happened to the Cubs? When I attended we won the Catholic 1A title and lost to Gary Danielson and Divine Child for the league championship! Transferring from UDHS for sports reasons? BTW, UDHS typically sends the highest proportion of its graduating seniors to UM than any high school in Michigan. I am surprised they don't send more athletes. In any case, DG should do well for Michigan even if, as I pray each night, DickFraud leaves in two years.
RR is not going anywhere. Boy, is that ever true! As disappointed as I am that he will be with us for 4+ years, I was secretly fantasizing a 2-10 record this year and 4-8 in 2010, followed by a firing. But you guys are correct. The Coal Miner's Child is with us for a while; he's going nowhere and taking the team and us with him. I've always wondered what it was like to be an MSU or Indiana football fan; I guess now we'll find out.
Delusions? I'm sorry. Exactly what teams besides Eastern Michigan and Delaware School for the Bewildered do you think the Coal Miner's Child is capable of beating this coming season? I fail to see more than three wins. This offense will NOT be better than last year - the projections are for two or three redshirt freshman O-linemen starting and trying to protect a true freshman QB. That line gave the closest impression of a sieve last season that we've ever seen in Michigan Stadium. Greg Frey's job is evidently to coach them to put on their underpants with the Victoria's Secret labels on the inside! Girly-man football does not win Big Ten titles - see MSU and Purdue.
Incorrect and Absurd Incorrect and absurd are the heart and soul of the rant. Ranting is the reason God created message boards! Where else to vent and pour the vitriol engendered by observing a season of football such as that produced by the Miner's Child? Yes, I use hyperbole often and well - I did, after all, obtain a Michigan degree, something few of the posters here can claim, judging by their grammar, syntax and spelling (see the post below). I will cease my ranting when that Son of the Pits puts a team on the field that is deserving of the winged helmets they wear. It won't happen anytime soon, I fear.
Trolls If you watched any Michigan games last year, you saw plenty of trolls. And geeks, spastics, Downs children and developmentally disabled people. And that was just the coaching staff!
I sound like an angry person Um, that would be because I AM angry. Followed Michigan football since 1965. Season ticket holder since 1979. Third generation degree holder and parent of fourth generation Wolverine. There is MUCH to be angry at. RR and his band of inbred morons just served up the worst season in Michigan football history. That's 130 years or, in West Virginia terms, roughly the amount of time since a member of Rich Rod's family married someone who was not ALREADY a member of Rich Rod's family. The list of traditions and streaks these clowns destroyed or defecated on is long and illustrious - and GONE! In their place is one new tradition - each year RR will run off our most experienced QB and start over. Yeah - our last Heisman winner was a DB. Who won primarily because everyone saw him play on OFFENSE on Sportscenter. I understand that you are looking at the team unit by unit. My point is that when one STARTS evaluating a team by considering its DBs, the rest of the team must stink pretty bad. And it does. You are absolutely correct - the DBs are a question mark, and they are probably the most stable, productive unit on this team. There are only two tough guys on the whole team - Brandon Minor and Brandon Graham. The rest of the team looks like transvestites in training. Another tradition seems to be starting up...
How far have we fallen When we're discussing DEFENSIVE BACKS when talking about Michigan football? This is the school that has been QB U for twenty years and offensive tackle U for almost as long. And don't work yourself into a tizzy thinking somehow, some way, RR is going to turn this team into a winner this year. He had two redshirt frosh at QB last year, and to top that, now he's run off the better of the two so he can start two TRUE frosh QBs this time around. He's gonna add two or three redshirt offensive linemen to the mix just to make sure one of the QBs doesn't survive the season, and then he'll tell us that, well, he's only been here for twenty five months, Lloyd didn't leave him any talent and we need to get a life! Michigan is on its way to becoming Nebraska.
