Anyone can correct me if I'm…

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong on this, but it's information I believe I've gotten from this board in the past regarding hockey.

MSU got their goalie, who is apparently very good, by getting him to flip from UM due to MSU's coach having been his coach with the NTDP.  I'm sure this new coach of theirs would possibly get a bump in recruiting at least in the short term of potentially signing players from the program when he was there.

I would not expect it to necessarily give him any advantage once the players that were with the program when he was there are gone, as he'd be in the same situation as any other college coach at that point as to where they don't have a personal relationship with him.  He may still recruit well, but the goalie is also a big reason they are where they are I believe.

Also, Naurato didn't get named permanent head coach until the team was basically in the frozen four last season.  Thus I think the recruiting class for this season was difficult to put together and relied much on the transfer portal.  I believe he has a tremendous class signed for next season.

That's exactly what I meant,…

That's exactly what I meant, sorry if not clear.  Thanks for the information.  I didn't recall Elston being in that role but now that you say that it rings a bell.  I think makes Seth's comment about retaining Elston make more sense to me as well.

I read most posts on this…

I read most posts on this board, but someone please catch me up here.  Who again was the recruiting coordinator and did we lose him?

Thanks.

The best thing about the 12…

The best thing about the 12 team playoff is the possibility of an Ole Miss at OSU in December, or whenever they get played late in the year.

Better yet, any of those "warm weather" schools playing at the "cold weather" school.  Maybe Georgia at Michigan, or Miami at Penn St, somebody at a Wisconsin potentially in the future.

Agree, think these games…

Agree, think these games were a bit big for him at this time of his career.  They also had to call a timeout at one point where he was lined up wrong.  JJ had to have a conversation with him going over to the sideline to explain it to him.

He'll be fine though, everyone on the team says he's electric and we've seen that up to the playoff games.

That's Kerr for ya, tell…

That's Kerr for ya, tell everyone else people need help, but he's not going to provide it himself.  It's on others to do it.

But they didn't play all…

But they didn't play all season without him, and they did finish undefeated.  What's your point again?

Did you know Alabama played all season with their qb and did NOT finish undefeated?  Ask yourself then, what is more impressive?

If Michigan didn't score more points than the opposing team in every game this year, they would not be undefeated.

Your logic is brutal here.

Best way to slow a pass rush…

Best way to slow a pass rush is unpredictability.  Mix up what downs you're throwing on.

D, need to throw in some blitzes, but have to give help on Harrison makes it tough.

No thanks on the run, run,…

No thanks on the run, run, pass selections.

I know you're being…

I know you're being sarcastic, but serious question, did anyone say anything about Kirk Ferentz tearing up during his post game interview?  His team has gone through a lot regarding injuries and what not, but all teams seem to do that to a certain extent.  He sure as hell hasn't had to go through what Sherrone Moore and team has from the standpoint of getting the new your head coach cannot be on the sideline, literally hours before the biggest game of the season thus far, and then prevailing!!!

You ask what the amount of…

You ask what the amount of the fine is that the conference thinks is acceptable, and then you counter sue for 10 times that amount for libel and slander.

Army vs. Navy should have an…

Army vs. Navy should have an o/u of 30 or less every year!  Now if someone wants to take the time to look at the history of scores in that game, I could be proven wrong, but sure seems like it should be, and I'm sticking to it.

JJ looks to be confused.  He…

JJ looks to be confused.  He is not throwing to the zone spots well, or at least not on the same page with the receivers.

CJ should have caught a TD however.

What about Connor Stallions…

What about Connor Stallions would have come up to say not to hire this guy?  Did he have sign stealing stuff on his social media prior to him being hired?

Behind your text, it says…

Behind your text, it says Day hired a former FBI agent and has proof.

So that dick Day believes Harbaugh told Mike S. that the play was to the tight end in the endzone and Mike just decided to give him room and time to score a T.D., but that he knew Stroud was going to loft the ball at such a speed he could sprint to the tight end, and after he had it in his hands he would be able to knock the ball out to save a T.D.?

Am I to believe Harbaugh stole Day's defensive signals and said to his team, they are going to put 10 in the box but I'm still going to run the Don for two long T.D.'s rather than throw against the stacked box?

What a bunch of horseshit.

That's a cruddy situation…

That's a cruddy situation Seth, but must be a little weight lifted knowing what it is and that your son can and will recover.

Prayers that full recovery is quick and as fast as possible.

College Sports - Michigan,…

College Sports - Michigan, care mostly about Football, Basketball, Hockey and Lacrosse, but always wish for all UM teams to do well.

NFL - Steelers and Lions.  Could mostly care less about watching any other games.

NBA - Can't stand that league.

NHL - Red Wings.

MLB - Tigers, but really have a hard time watching them, and don't care at all about watching any other games.

I'm not all doom and gloom,…

I'm not all doom and gloom, although it is frustrating UM can't get a CB with the success they've had.

I do think Will Johnson, although counts as a get, has an asterisk by him as he is a legacy player and it would have taken some real screwing up to lose out on him.

Not as cool I suppose but…

Not as cool I suppose but Mike Knuble's son I believe has signed to play hockey at Notre Dame.

I wonder if we offered, anyone know?  Dad played high school hockey in West Michigan at East Kentwood back in the day, played at UM and then had a long career in the NHL.  Bought, or has some stake in an ice rink in Michigan where the Fox Motors travel teams play out of, so still in the area.  If his son can play at ND you'd think he could play at UM (although UM only gets top 5 picks in the drafts I guess).

Had season tickets from 1985…

Had season tickets from 1985-2005, and in the 80's and I believe most of the '90s they had Dominos Pizza.  Was like $7 for a small pizza.  Worth the money and it was good, although you could take coolers into the stadium in the mid-late 80's for sure so maybe that helped.  Was hot with plenty of sauce, cheese and pepperoni.

They also had someone that made a pork chop sandwich.  That thing was awesome!

Many more vendors around the outside of the stadium at that time (inside the fence of course).  Although I don't go to many games now as tv seems to suit me fine these days.

Pilgrim's Run is a great…

Pilgrim's Run is a great track and a public course.

Golf digest's top public courses in Michigan.

1. Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs course) in Arcadia

2. Marquette GC (Greywalls) in Marquette

3. Forest Dunes (The Loop Red & Black) in Roscommon.

4. Forest Dunes (Forest Dunes course) in Roscommon

5. Arcadia Bluffs (South Course) in Arcadia

6. Belvedere in Charlevoix (They said Charlevois, don't think that's a place).

7. Boyne Bay Harbor (Links/Quarry) in Petoskey

8. Gull Lake View Resort (Stoatin Brae) in Augusta

9. Eagle Eye in Bath Township

10 Pilgrims Run in Pierson

I guess playing defense is…

I guess playing defense is optional with this team.

Haven't been able to see them much this year but it is a common theme of turning the puck over and giving up odd man rushes.  Frustrating to watch.

What's with the expedited…

What's with the expedited reviews?  In the Giants/Vikings game, at least on one mark of the ball and one catch/non-catch, they moved the ball and called a catch a incompletion after an expedited review by upstairs.  Neither were challenged by a coach.

Is this new, because I have never seen this before?  Both were overturned correctly, but I thought all plays, other than scoring plays had to be initiated by a coach.

It was nice in the fact it was done quick, and without really stopping the play.  I'd say this should be done all the time, but then why have officials on the field at all other than a referee to explain things as they get called from people in a booth?

It would be nice for a…

It would be nice for a comment from Harbaugh, but that is only for the fans security or lack thereof.

Nobody knows what he has told his staff.  He may have told them that he's not going anywhere but he's using this to get everyone on the staff more money.

He may already be communicating with recruits that he's not going anywhere and will make a public statement on that in the near future.

Or, he is talking to all these NFL teams to see if they can work something out.  Nobody knows what or what is not being said to the people that need to know.  This board is not in the need to know category.

I'm a bit surprised, and…

I'm a bit surprised, and maybe worried that on Clifford's long run, yes Moore goes the wrong way, then fixes his direction on a bad angle toward Clifford (he's taken many bad angles this year) then gets on Clifford tail, only to lose ground to him until Turner can catch him and make the tackle.

I'm not sure Clifford is slow, he's been a good runner, but I wouldn't call him fast.  Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'd still expect a safety to catch a qb if he's going to cover receivers.  Maybe he's always on TE's, IDK.

Makes sense, I figured it…

Makes sense, I figured it was something to do with losing where the man is.  I appreciate the response and explanation.

I "think" this kids tape…

I "think" this kids tape looks very impressive.  Is always in the receivers hip pocket, with caveat that this is a highlight reel.  Shows really good speed and instincts.

One thing he needs to work on in my opinion is getting his head around when the receiver looks for the ball.  However, I've said that numerous times about UM's corners.

Therefore, I either don't know crap about what I'm talking about, or it's really a difficult thing to do.  Maybe they are taught not to lose sight/contact with the receiver, and then when he sticks his mitts up to catch the ball, try to get a hand in.  Seems like that takes crazy timing and would be difficult.

Do they teach kids to get their head around, or are they afraid of losing where the receiver is?  If anyone knows, I'm curious.  I know this kid is young, but I see a lot at the college level, not sure about NFL. Maybe they do it there too because I am wrong in my thoughts about it.

Great season by these ladies…

Great season by these ladies.  Naz is just top notch all the way around.  Team was really a good, or elite point guard away.

Congrats on the elite eight!!!

So many good players.  I'm…

So many good players.  I'm definitely having Loy Vaught on my team as a bench player.  Played against him in high school as well.

Another guy, who admittedly isn't in the top 15 to make a team like this, but I'd put him on mine anyway is Eric Turner.  I just liked watching him play.  Should have stuck around.

This is not Juwan's fault. …

This is not Juwan's fault.  Look like you're running a well oil machine on offense in the first half.  The difference in the last 10-15 minutes is Jones falling all over the place and turning it over.  Brooks turning it over whether just getting picked when he knew the guy was right behind him the whole way up the floor, or not being able to throw an entry pass to Dickinson and wizzing it out of bounds.

Jones throwing an inbound lob pass just to get it in and it ends up about 3 feet short to the Indiana guy.

I mean what play have any of these guys made?  Juwan can't dribble, pass and defend for them.

What a joke.

Just as of last year, we…

Just as of last year, we couldn't supply ourselves with fuels?

I like the Jay Harbaugh…

I like the Jay Harbaugh thought, although I know that puts me in a small minority.

He could probably keep the staff together, and he's been around coaching his entire life obviously with Jim, John and Jack.  He's a great recruiter and done a plus job with each position he's coached.

Maybe more likely he follows Dad to the NFL, if that's what happens, but I don't think it's that awful.

I've read all the comments…

I've read all the comments about how many games you can play without wasting a year, etc.  However, it is my judgement that Owen Power does not choose to come back for his sophomore year, after a year of the team having to miss the tournament due to COVID, and then play most of his sophomore year just to bail prior to the tournament.

Just don't see it happening, and this is all the reasoning I have.

I hate to do this and single…

I hate to do this and single a person out, but it's just funny imo.

Snazzy walks into a psychiatrist's office with nothing on but wrapped in saran wrap.

Psychiatrist says I already know your problem, I can clearly see your nuts.

Ba-dum-bum-ching!!

I would agree that your…

I would agree that your daughter did the correct thing, but even if she had at home tests, I'm not sure it would have been a good idea with a negative test right away.

I know 3 people that have taken home tests after being knowingly exposed by someone with Covid.  The first two days of testing with all 3 people were negative.  The third day, all positive.  These are the only 3 people I know that were exposed and then home tested btw.

I don't know if that means you aren't contagious until you test positive, maybe, but maybe not, I really don't know.  However if she had tested negative that first day and then went to work if feeling well, could she have spread it to others?  If so, then I guess if exposed you should wait and stay away from people until at least the third day to see if you are negative?

Seriously, Grand Rapids has been mentioned and although not in discussion for the top, one of the most fun guys to watch hoop was Melvin "Sugar" Mclaughlin.

Loy Vaught from near by; same conference.

Why no barstool?  I don't…

Why no barstool?  I don't pay any attention to them.  No like or dislike of them because I don't  read or listen to them.  Watched some of their golf stuff and that's it.  Are they unreliable when it comes to this sort of thing?

Just curious.

This is my favorite, and I…

This is my favorite, and I've used it a fair number of times myself since.  I think, and could be wrong, that he actually said a lesser athlete would have fallen.  That's how I say it anyway, as that's how I remember it.  Again, don't want to be the one to correct someone, I just recall it differently but at my age, recollection is getting tougher.

Looks to be you're an ER doc…

Double post

Looks to be you're an ER doc…

Looks to be you're an ER doc, I seriously thank you for that as I'm sure you're being overworked like everyone else in the medical field and I appreciate you.  I hope you're staying safe and well.

I had a long reply typed out, but don't want to be a jerk, even when trying to be funny.  However, I am wondering how a team gets to 27 with kicking too many field goals.  Having 2 fgs out of 5 scoring opportunities too many? It is if they give up 34, obviously, but would that be the reason for the loss then, a 60% td rate in the redzone?

Maybe still a jerk by even pointing it out.  I honestly just found it funny on a Friday afternoon.  Maybe wouldn't have yesterday, who knows.  Just having some fun and if you don't take it that way, my apologies.

This is the stupidest rule…

This is the stupidest rule for a punt return anyway, on top of what was brought up about overlooking it late in a game.

I see where it makes sense for an offensive set, identifying a player and such, but there was one number one deep to receive the punt.  The other number one is blocking.  Who gives a crap!!

1.  Crystal Downs

2. …

1.  Crystal Downs

2.  Arcadia North and South

3.  Some other nice ones in Michigan, haven't played a ton out of state.  The Palms and Magnolia at Disney.  Normally don't like to pay over $100 for a round of golf but make the exception once a year.  Crystal Downs cost me way too much, but it was great.

I don't watch a ton of film…

I don't watch a ton of film and am not close to being an evaluater.  I like this film though.  Looks well coached with the side shuffle in the pocket with his eyes downfield and the ball loaded by his ear for delivery.

His arm strength did not look too bad to me either.  For what any of this is worth.

Supposedly official results…

Supposedly official results were in after the race concluded, unless those are only tv official results.

Should be no change to current payouts.  You're gambling, not only on the results, but that there isn't a cheater.  How can you go back anyway.

I lost a lot of money on sporting events only to find out people were juicing later.  Never got any change to the whereabouts of my money.

They let one guy beat them. …

They let one guy beat them.  I'm surprised they didn't go to some zone and keep him from shooting.  Maybe that would have opened up more shots for him, but I don't remember us trying.

UM plays ultimate team ball, but it sure would be nice to have one guy be able to step up and take over when needed.  They don't have that guy.

Dickinson was throwing up junk, forcing things to his left, and missed some bunnies.  Not sure what Eli was doing on that offensive rebound.  I guess I understand a little bit, but it was much too hurried, but maybe don't know how much time is on the clock at that point.

IDK, just looked like they were frazzled, UCLA played good defense.  Wagner was a no show offensively, as I guess most were.  Defense played well, but they had the best player on the floor who could score.

Great season, I hope the best is yet to come for Michigan basketball.

Agree, Dax twice, and…

Agree, Dax twice, and although I think Reynolds is better than Hawkins by a fair amount, I didn't think he went strong enough after the ball on Rutgers last regulation TD.  Seems it's an issue for all the db's.

To add, why is Ross playing, he is certainly not one of the 3 best LB's on this team, even with McGrone out.
