Petteway as you said, shoots a higher percentage than Harris. Petteway is also the conferences leading scorer and gets to the line more frequently than Harris who seems content to jack 3's. This is illustrated by the number of FT attempts as Petteway has shot 172 FT's, while Harris has only shot 118. Petteway also is a little better rebounder than Harris statistically. One thing that is abundantly clear is that Nik Stauskas is in another world efficiency wise, and should easily be B1G player of the year.
|5 hours 49 min ago||Is that how I act?||
Don't remember acting like that for some reason. I guess the point I was trying to make but failed to mention is that Petteway from Nebraska was much more deserving than Harris. I should have mentioned that, oh wait.
|7 hours 9 min ago||Gary Harris||
Is that a joke? Harris has had a rough season, his shooting percentages are way down. His defense has not been very good either although the meme is still strong in the media. Harris is a low efficiency high volume shooter.
Harris has shot the ball 376 times this season with 158 made baskets.
Stauskas has shot the ball 296 times with 145 made baskets.
Stauskas has outscored Harris 485 to 478 while taking 80 less shots!!!

Will actually improve RPI wise, even with a loss to Wisconsin. Just playing a top #10 RPI team will move the needle for a team near #50. I said it before but Michigans road resume is being underestimated by most, Duke is going to be seeded about 2 lines lower than most realize because the commitee really gives road wins a lot of weight. I see Jerry Palm has moved Duke down to a #5 seed.
|5 days 8 hours ago||No way||
Michigan has a better resume right now than Duke. Something that is being missed with a lot of these bracketologists is the weight that the commitee gives to road wins and for this reason Michigan will be seeded higher than what is commonly expected. Duke basically has beaten no one on the road at all, and has fewer top-50 wins than Michigan. Throw in the fact that UM is the champion of a top 2 conference and I just can't see Duke being seeded above them.

But let's not forget Morgan stepped up big time with 13 points and 10 huge rebounds.
|1 week 2 days ago||How in the world||
is MSU being considered for a similar seed as Michigan when looking at these numbers. Michigan also has 9 top 50 wins compared to 5 for MSU. Objectively on paper, their resume warrants about a 6-7 seed.
|1 week 3 days ago||UM will win||
If Nik plays tough the 2nd half. Tough as in being emotionless when you get bumped and just playing through it strong. Stop the animations and don't expect whistles.
|1 week 3 days ago||Walton||
Has really struggled lately, I would like to see GR3 and Irvin play together with Levert running the point.
|1 week 4 days ago||Nix||
When you consider they have not improved individually, in fact Harris has certainly regressed, this team even healthy is not as good as last years team with Nix.
|1 week 5 days ago||No way||
Michigan is a 3 seed right now. The rankings are not the whole picture as the selection commitee loves road wins and UM has as good a resume of road wins as anyone in the country. We also have 9 top 50 RPI wins which is the 2nd best in the country behind Kansas.
|1 week 5 days ago||OSU is out of whack||
They have only 4 wins against the RPI top 50 and 2 of them are against North Dakota St.,and Minnesota. What's really puzzling is its not just the polls but Kenpom and the RPI index have them ranked around the same as Michigan which has 9 top 50 RPI wins.
|1 week 5 days ago||Michigan has the toughest schedule||
The bottom 3 teams in the conference are PSU,Illinois and NW and UM only played each of them once. Our 4th single play was on the road in Columbus. If MSU had played the toughest schedule it would be mentioned constantly by Izzo and the media and yet I have not heard Beilein mention it at all.

Changed the momentum late in the first half. This was going to be a blow out loss without his efforts!
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Team is being held to a different standard||
A couple weeks ago UM lost @Iowa, and MSU lost on a neutral court to a mediocre Georgetown. The result was MSU staying at #9 and UM dropping 5 spots from #10 to #15.
This last week, Michigan had a very impressive win @OSU and a home loss to top 25 Wisconsin. MSU won at home against NW and lost at home to Nebraska. So UM had a far superior win, and a far better loss than MSU and yet UM fell further in the polls again!?

Is fine. Kaminski had a great game, hit some tough shots and was aided by at least 3-4 calls/non-calls. I still believe doubling the post when possible is a good idea and I really believe Michigan is a better team when Irvin is on the floor. GR3 might be a better defender, but he is average at best and the increased energy and shooting Irvin brings is worth the trade off.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Harris||
"With MSU giving plenty of minutes to a lineup featuring Gary Harris, Kenny Kaminski, and Travis Trice—all 40% or better 3-point shooters—surrounding Payne, they face similar issues this weekend even if Keith Appling sits out."
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Seriously||
Who gives a shit! Another thread about a player that has NO interest in Michigan.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Walton is the man||
This kid has played his best in the 2 biggest games of the year , both on the road against arch rivals!!! That takes a special fortitude and Derrick has got some big nuts. Go Blue!
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Michigan||
Is very poor defending around the hoop. I would love to see Beilein double the post any time the ball is fed down low. Many times the ball will be fed and there is plenty of time to slide over and double but they usually just allow the defender to play one on one. Bill Frieder teams were great at doubling the post.

Does he ever come out? He needs to sit down
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Am I the only one?||
That's offended by the deport Stauskas chant? When is it alright to make reference to nationality? I guess I consider race, religion, sex, ethnicity or nationality to be very personal and therefore in very poor taste.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||You seem eager||
To take the word of a player that has had more than one issue with anger management and lashing out. Did you know Smart literally kicked a chair on the OSU bench about a month ago? Secondly, it is not acceptable to put your hands on someone because of a word or words! The fan is obviously an idiot, thats without question. It is not acceptable to escalate a situation from words to a physical confrontation.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Izzo effect||
How does MSU not drop at all after losing @Wisconsin? Not to mention they have lost 3 of the last 5 with a bad loss to Georgetown included.
Michigan dropped 5 spots from #10 down to #15 for their loss @ Iowa.
Guess the whining is working.
|4 weeks 7 hours ago||Beilein||
I love him but he deserves some questioning here. The new defense of Stauskas is clear, they are going to follow the Duke and IU blueprint of putting smaller quicker defenders on him and we knew that coming in. Why has Beilein not drawn up a new wrinkle to get Nik some confidence early on? How about some double or even triple screens to combat this defense? You just can't have your best player be completely neutralized and just smile about it.
Another area where I am questioning Beilein, and I do that reluctantly because I know he is a great coach, but why does Levert guard the other teams best player? He is just awful trying to stay with guys moving without the ball! Take a page from the Stauskas defense and put a smaller quicker player on Marble, maybe Walton and see if he can at least stay near him.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Nice win||
As well as we shot and shared the ball offensively, it was the best defense Michigan has played this year. If the defense continues to improve along with the continued development of Walton and Irvin then the sky is the limit.

How the OP pulled it off in that condition. Respect
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Hoke is a leader of young men||
It's not fitting for a leader of impressionable young men to lie about anything. In this case Hoke has for no apparent reason chosen to lie about why Gibbons was not with the team. Be evasive, dont comment or give a blanket statement but thats not what happened here. Seems like knowing your player commited a sexual assault on a female student would give Hoke a better awareness of the need for complete honesty and transparency. Evidently not. I'm not in anyway blaming Hoke for the actions of Gibbons, I am addressing a completely different issue I have with Hoke. The deception needs to stop, just dont comment if you dont want to give information.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Pointless lies||
Why not just say "violation of team rules" ? He lied, no getting around it.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||How good is Stauskas?||
We all know about the shooting/scoring but remarkably he leads the conference in assist/turnover margin. Since conference play started Nik is averaging 4.7 assists to 1.4 turnovers.
