The numbers speak for themself and were provided for a snapshot of how HOF elected WR's stats compare to Megatron's, should he retire this offseason. I'm not sure why you are calling it my logic -- for the record, I'm not a HOF voter.
Irvin is the ugly duckling of that list of WR's listed...but he has 3 rings and had more "flash" than Megatron. Don't be silly by concluding that my post supports Johnson's inclusion in the HOF. If that was serious, your logic skills are dogshit.
Megatron definitely a victim of circumstance being on the Lions, I agree. Sometimes nice guys finish last. Megatron was, after all, a part of the 0-16 Lions in 2008 and remained with the organization despite the incompetence/poop flowing from the top (RIP WCF) on down.
I do agree with you and others that say Lynn Swann is in no position to be speaking on this matter but the numbers don't lie either. He's like most other retired professional athletes...misses his time in the spotlight and looking to get his name back in the headlines to make him relevant somehow.
LOL @ Lions homers (for the record he was on all three of my fantasy teams this past year and I've been a lifelong Lions fan).
His career numbers: 731 receptions; 11,619 yards; 83 TD; 5 time Pro Bowl; 3 time First Team All Pro; 0 Playoff Wins
Hall of Fame Wide Receivers--Modern Day (retired after 1995):
Tim Brown -- 1,094 receptions; 14,934 yards; 105 TD; 9 time Pro Bowl; 2 Time First Team All Pro; AFC Champion
Cris Carter -- 1,101 receptions; 13,899 yards; 130 TD; 8 time Pro Bowl; 2 Time First Team All Pro; his teams won multiple playoff games (no Super Bowls)
Marvin Harrison -- 1,102 receptions; 14,580 yards; 128 TD; 8 time Pro Bowl; 6 Time First Team All Pro; 1 Super Bowl ring
Michael Irvin -- 750 receptions; 11,904 yards; 65 TD; 5 time Pro Bowl; 3 Super Bowl rings
Art Monk -- 940 receiptions; 12,721 yards; 3 time Pro Bowl; 2 time First Team All Pro; 3 Super Bowl rings
Andre Reed -- 951 receiptions; 13,198 yards; 88 TD; 7 time Pro Bowl; played in 4 Super Bowls
Jerry Rice -- 1,549 receiptions; 22,895 yards; 208 TD; 13 time Pro Bowl; 12 time First Team All Pro; 3 Super Bowl rings
Look at the WR's already ahead of Megatron waiting to get in:
Randy Moss
Terrell Owens
Isaac Bruce
Torry Holt
Hines Ward
You're right. It's not the "Hall of Whoever Got to a Super Bowl" but it sure looks that way based on the above I'm sure you'd agree after seeing this...especially for modern-day wide receivers elected into the HOF.
Take off your lions tinted glasses brah. Swann is right -- Megatron isn't HOF worthy. At least they won a playoff game with Barry. I mean, his numbers were strong but no way is he getting in...too exclusive of a club.
Wonder how Brady Hoke would do on a trip to Eugene...you think he'd soil himself like he did against Penn State or Nebraska?
This post is pathetic, get off your high horse. How about instead of being negative and offering excuses about why RR was lucky to win, you give RR the praise he deserves? Alternatively, "...Learn when to shut up"
Call DB, rumor has it he is looking for ticket buyers.
But seriously, obtaining 10 tickets together is highly unlikely via scalping and you will have to split up the seats. However, you will probably get better pricing if you split it up. As for favorable locations, depends on how close to kickoff you want to cut it. Earlier in the day/morning, go to the Union/State Street area. If closer to kickoff (within an hour) go towards the stadium.
i was talking about TheGeneral's comment about harris hating the process, spotlight, reporters, etc. last I read, mcdowell appears to have similar sentiments. please, enlighten me as to why this is not true rather than flatly dismiss the comparison. TIA
not re: tweeting about stauskas (i don't closely follow what these high schoolers tweet about) but more as relates to hating the process/spotlight and not liking to talk to reporters. main difference is he has already "committed"
i am interested to see if/where borges lands on his feet and whether harris follows based on the good relationship those two appear to have. has BBrown spoken with or attempted to speak with him?
IIRC, the comment about not swinging the ball enouch occurred while we let the game get too close to comfort...in the midst of the 3-4 trips in which levert didn't pass the ball and instead tried to create his own shot upon touching the ball.
awesome bounce off the net! much more enjoyable being on the right side of those than the wrong side (i.e. horror wisco half court shot ftl they showed on espn earlier)

Much worse. Seems like its been a night and day difference which may be because his son is on the team now. Either that or I just didn't notice tonight being so ecstatic with how good of a game we played.
Too bad your vote doesn't count. Neither does mine. Despite what we think should or shouldn't happen, this thread is about 52-53 hours premature. Now time to stop daydreaming and get back to work.
What planet are you on, bud? Or did you just crawl out from underneath that ROCK you tried smoking? Snarky comments or not, THE LIONS DO SUCK. THIS IS REAL!!!!
Get over it bro, this is a blog and snarky comments are all over.
Sorry you have to watch the shitshow that is the Detroit Lions up close and personal, London. Welcome to my weekly hell every Sunday from September to December
Certainly this isn't a surprise anymore, is it? Same old song and dance we've seen time and time again. Not enough attention at home, illusions of grandeur or peer pressure so he "re-opens" his recruitment, drops commitment to his self-proclaimed "dream school since he was a kid", and in comes the freakshow of sleazebag coaches, like sharks that smell blood in the water, trolling Borges and rubbing their magic snake oil everywhere.
If this kid only committed to Michigan because of Borges he must be blind, dumb, and/or a liar after this past season. I surmise he was just looking for an excuse to decommit and this is the perfect scenario. Big picture, if this kid's commitment is a casualty for our team to upgrade from Uncle Fester to Nuss, fuck it, I'm cool with that. THE TEAM THE TEAM THE TEAM
Blizzard just kicked into overdrive here on the Rockford/Lowell border. They're saying 8-10 inches but of course there are still some crazy ice fishermen still sitting out on the ice. Spent 15 minutes shoveling until I Lee Corso'd it ("Ahhhhh Fuckkkk it....") and came back inside.
But you may be mixing the Sgt Peppers crew with the Campus Corner crew. I do know that I helped fill their 401k's back in the 2003-2007 era of my schooling from all the kegs and 40's bought there. Great memories.
Speaking of Campus Corner, stopped there last year during a football game. Not nearly the place it used to be. Too nice/classy IMO
Although Navarre was somewhat frustrating to watch, this kid reminds me of Navarre but seems much more refined at this point. Hope he learns a lot during his redshirt season and is ready to compete in 2015. Really looking forward to seeing his development (and what Borges/future OC can do with his skillset).

Elon Musk disagrees with you, sir. That man poops gold.
This is why. You win, sir.
My prediction is Fran McCaffery's face will get extremely red no less than three times during the game. Also, multiple jacket tosses. #BOOM

The logic here is nonexistent...I've read your post at least 5 times and am still scratching my head. Please think before you type

Those crazy Lebanese bastards that own Sgt. Peppers' booze store need to have a Jabrill promotion. The pizza in that place tastes like rubber...
18 mill per year for Cutler....LOL
Good news to start 2014 for Lions fans. Now time to hire a head coach with half a brain!
