That still doesn't quite make sense to me because the very next play was a pass play. If Nuss knew that Morris was wobbly/unstable, why would he immediately draw up a pass? The whole thing is fishy to me and I just can't quite figure it out.

I really appreciated BronxBlue's take on this. You should read his whole column, but here's the part relevant to this discussion.
"(I'll leave claims of Morris possibly being concussed and still on the field for those with more information, because I wasn't there and we've seen many players take shots and bounce back up. Not to play devil's advocate, but it looked as much like Morris had the wind knocked out of him by that hit than he was concussed, and the fact he was taken out 2 plays later felt like a coaching staff realizing something more was up than a hit. Putting him in a couple of plays later for that handoff is obviously bad, and his fumbling with a response in the postgame didn't help anything. [EDIT] That said, Brady Hoke is many things, but it takes a pretty extreme jump in logic [admittedly, one that a certain subset of the fanbase is dying to make] to claim that he would knowingly endanger the health of one of his players in a game. But as more information comes out, that could obviously change the story. I'm just wary of the reactionary tone that took over immediately following the game, especially by [mostly] uninvolved third parties)."
(Sorry I haven't learned to blockquote yet)

In case anyone is wondering exactly what TruBluMich is feeling:
"Outrage is differentiated from anger in that it is an emotion that is triggered by observation of injustice, perceived violations of taboos, privileges or norms by a third party to which the observer may have no immediate relationship."

Digging the small sandwich out of my layers of clothing, I took a bite without taking it out of the zip-lock bag it is sealed in. Reasonably certain that the Big House is unoccupied, I began my exploration with the quickness and efficiency gained from hundreds of previous such searches. In the parking lot, I found what is left of the fans that once tailgated there. The skeletons are old enough to be odorless, but fresh enough that leathery skin and wispy hair still covers the bones. Daddy skeleton still holds the pom pom that he used to cheer for Denard before he turned the pom pom on himself. The pom pom is grimy, rusted, and probably not worth salvaging, but I made a mental note to check the lot for more.
Finding the dead family lifted my spirits. Having seen too many such scenes to be effected by the sight, I stepped up the pace of my search. One would think that people, especially families, would hold on to the last thread of hope before deciding to stay home, but this is not what I discovered. The people who have abandoned this place did not wait until the last scrap of hope had been taken. They seem to have waited only until the hope of a Les Miles rescue had died before they took their own exit. During the last two years of my scavenging, I have found opposing stadiums at full capacity and no reasonable explanation of why ours couldn't be the same. It wasn’t lack of winning, but lack of hope that led them to abandon this Big House forever.

From someone who has never made a thread.
Whenever you put a period at the end of your thread title, it is a flashing neon sign that you have made a terrible post. I don't know why. I am not sure what in the human psyche causes snowflake posters to put periods at the end of their thread titles. Maybe it's a subconscious way of saying "I have heard all of your thoughts, but my thoughts are superior?" Or "these thoughts are going to be the end of the discussion?" I don't know. Whatever the cause, don't do it because the first thing you are communicating is condescension toward the readers, which doesn't usually go over well around here.

It's sad for Brady Hoke too. He loves the program more than any of us do. He worked his whole life and got his dream job, and once he achieved it he simply couldn't handle it. That's not an easy thing for a man to go through.
It's sad for the players. They love this guy and would do anything for him, but for whatever reason something isn't clicking and what he's doing simply isn't working. That's not easy for a college kid to go through.
The whole thing just sucks. There are no two ways about it.
