Isn't MM supposed to be playing power forward this year? |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Plasma burned in image |
My father-in-law had two Plasma TVs (sony and a panasonic) burn in the image. He got rid of the Sony 5 years ago and it must have been 10 years old at the time. The Panasonic he only had for a few years. |

As much as PSU deserves what they got, you have to sort of have to feel for their fans. (When I went to a game at PSU, pre-scandal, the Penn State fans were some of the nicest I've been around.) You also have to root for O'Brien with his special needs son and coaching in the situation he is in. I think the B1G needs a strong Penn State. |
| 1 week 4 days ago | NFL |
It is more important how a player plays at Michigan than how they play in the NFL. If for instance Denard can't make the transition, it will not take away my memories of the UTL game. That said, I enjoy rooting for Michigan players in the NFL. It is another metric we can be proud of. When Harbaugh, Grbac, Brady, Greise, and Collins were all in the league I was proud of that. ...and it does help give the program visibility and land big recruits in the future. While recruits today don't know who Messner is, the Michigan fan base does and the analogy is apt. (Hopefully the recruits aren't on Mgoblog all day.) It's also cool to have sucessful guys like Gerald Ford, David Brandon and even Les Miles play on the team. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | What happened?! |
When Poggi was being recruited he was the second coming. I don't have the proper analogy, but this review makes him sound ho-hum. What happened? He still looks skinny to me. A country-strong guy with a 4.7 40 and a high motor. I'm still expecting big things. underrated is o.k. |

Were we still running the 100 yard dash in 1978? Might explain the very fast time. |

When Gee made the comments that he was lucky Tressel didn't fire him, I took it as him placing football above ethics. If he really was trying to reign in football, it was probably him comiserating that he didn't have the power to reign them in. |
| 2 weeks 3 hours ago | Not that bad |
While Gee probably should have been "retired" during tat-gate, I think he's getting a bum rap here. His comments were on the radio this morning and he basically said what anyone in a sports conversation would have said about ND and the SEC. Of course university president's shouldn't engage in sports talk because of their positions, but come on. Of course people in the SEC can't read. "Damn catholics" is funny because other than 100 years ago, in the U.S., who cares if you're Catholic. Nothing happens to him when he let's the football program run amok, but he cracks a few jokes and he's gone. |

I did a search for $4 ESPN Insider and found this link that gives the 6578 code to discount mags. Has anyone used this? Is your information sold to everyone in the universe?

| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Hello? |
While the article concept is very funny, I don't think fake Hello posts are funny at all, because of the breif moment of elation and disappointment. before I get to the recruits' name: Dr. Hamlett III. (No college football recruit is already a Dr.) |

Was Gee the President when Tressel ran amok, or was that someone else? |
| 3 weeks 19 hours ago | Woeful Lions |
I've been a Lions fan going back to the Gary Danielson/Billy SIms days. I about lost it the year we had a bye in the first year of the playoffs and then lost to the Redskins. (91?) I moved to L.A. right after their teams left and almost considered being a chargers fan. I moved to Buffalo 10 years ago right before the Bills fell into obscurity and haven't really been able to fully adopt them. Pro football is fun for fantasy leagues full of Michigan players, but is otherwise disappointing. Restore the Roar! |

Happy Memorial Day. That's a nice lookin' helmut. |
| 3 weeks 2 days ago | Highschool kids' twitter statements |
MSU recruits should be talking trash to Michigan. Unfortunately HS kids' don't always realize that Twitter is a public forum. Probably won't even be bulletin board material by the time the class of 2014 is runnin' sh-t. |

Cathy was the speaker in 94. Bush Sr. was 93 and Hillary Clinton was 95. Ack! |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | Use multiple names for single letters |
You can use multiple player names for a single letter. For example Dr. Suess does something like (paraphrased from memory) BIg B Little b B, b, B Bubbles, Barber, Ballerina B, b, B.
Big G, Little g. G,g, G Gardner, Greise, Grahm. G, g, G. There are enough greats that you might be able to get a rhyme scheme going. Looking forward to a link to the results. |
| 9 weeks 2 days ago | Two and Done--Best to Burke |
Burke was fantastic this year and last. I rarely watch the NBA, but when I do it is to watch a Michigan player play for a few minutes when I catch him playing while flipping channels. While it helps to win championships, or play for them, I think the NBA benefits by having players play in college as long as possible. I know who Burke is because he stayed a second year. I know Hardaway, Glen Rice, Chris Webber, Robert Tractor Taylor (RIP), Maurice Taylor and others because they actually played for Michigan for more than a year. I believe it was Jamal Crawford (?) who was drafted in the first round after playing only a year for Michigan. I had a busy year that year and I still don't know who he is. Burke made himself the POY and helped get his team to the championship game. I might even set my DVR to see him play sometime in the NBA (especially if he becomes a Piston.) |

I about had a heart attack thinking that I was missing the game. Not cool MGOBlog. Please change the day to Saturday. |

| 19 weeks 3 days ago | Michigan decal acknowledgement etiquette |
I live in Buffalo and I see a Michigan decal or license plate every three or four weeks. I want to honk, or hold up my Michigan hat too get their attention and share the Michigan love, but usually just let the person go on their way. What is the proper acknowledgement when they can't hear you say "Go Blue!" Should I get one of those car horns that play the victors? |

I'm still mourning the USC game. Don't need titles like this bumming me out when Poggi is true Blue. |
| 38 weeks 23 hours ago | Good idea |
I'd much rather play Wiconsin, Penn State, and IL every year than these tune up games. |
| 38 weeks 23 hours ago | Notre Dame Sucks |
My first Michigan game was the 1 vs. 2 with Rahib Ishmail running back two scores. Michigan Notre Dame is a classic match up/rivalry of storied programs. Touchdown Jesus or not, Notre Dame has no soul. You should want to play your rivals. You should be driven to play your rivals. That said, as there are no more regional power houses with any guts, I'd like to see Michigan play Texas or USC on a regular basis Traditional power houses with good schools. When there students come to Michigan, or Michigan students go there it is a networking/ future grad school check-out opportunity. Standford could be cool, but 4 years sans Harbaugh and they'll be back to mediocre. Maybe Cal or UCLA but their football teams are inconsistent? |
| 42 weeks 4 days ago | Dan Gable |
It's hard to compare sports but Dan Gable's teams won 16 national championshps and 21 straight Big Ten Championships.Historically wrestling is dominated by a few schools, but Iowa never won one before he got there. I feel foolish commenting on Bleacher Report drek. |
| 43 weeks 3 days ago | Lots of great QB-Reciever combos |
I can't list them all out because it all blends to gether over time, but since I can remember Michigan has always had an awesome QB-Reciever combo. (with the exception of a three-year period I don't talk about.) Wangler-Anthony Carter Grbac-Desmond Howard Grbac-Derrick Alexander Collins-Derrick Alexander Collins-Toomer Griese/Brady-Streets Brady-David Terrell Navarre-Braylon Edwards Navarre-Jason Avant

| 43 weeks 3 days ago | Nice. |
That's some pretty awesome handywork. You had to be the only one on the slopes with one of them as I've never seen anyone and evidently they are not for purchase. My odds of getting it right are low as I have low standards with my handy work, but that looks like it would be a lot of fun. I thought for sure someone would be making these. |
| 43 weeks 3 days ago | Speaking of Michigan Gear |
I've been looking for kids bike helmets with Michigan wings. The only Michigan bike helmet I can find is an epic fail at MDEN. Has anyone see Michigan winged bike helmets? or Snowboard helmets for that matter? I've been looking for awhile and can't seem to find one online or in Michigan when I go back. |
| 44 weeks 4 days ago | How do you avoid being PSU or an SEC School |
When this PSU thing first broke I gave JoePa the benefit of the doubt. I always had an image of him as someone who did things the right way, graduated players, didn't pay the players and coached at PSU because he loved his team and his school. When I went to a game at PSU the white out was awesome. Much more intimidating that playing at the Big House (at least before we fixed the acoustics). The fans at PSU were awesome too. Everyone we talked to there knew all about football and offered us beer (we were late-30's at the time) and wished us good luck on the game. Those fans thought that JoePa was a good guy too. They had no way of knowing what was going on. How does Michigan avoid becoming a PSU, OSU or even an SMU? I think Hoke, Mattison and Borges are men of integrity, but you never know when a Chris Weber is going to take money, or some assistant coach is going to do something wrong. I don't ever want to have to say that I love Michigan, except for that whole pedophillia ring, or the kids who's scholarships we pulled, or the players we were paying, etc. What can you do beyond big brotheresque surveillance? |
| 44 weeks 6 days ago | Hiring Process |
The whole hiring process in 2007 seemed to be botched. If Carr wanted to retire as early as '05 why didn't Bill Martin have people lined up to be the coach? Brady Hoke would have walked to Ann Arbor from S.D., I'm sure there were at least a couple of coaches might have wanted the MICHIGAN job from '05 to '07. RR is probably a decent coach, but he was a carpet bagger. You don't want a coach who would leave his alma mater, which was on the verge of a national championship, for a bigger paycheck. You want a coach who loves Michigan. (Yes, Bo came to UofM from Miami, but he got what Michigan and the Game were about.) I was glad to see the article where Mattison said he wants to retire from Michigan and Borges said that he has no plans on looking and doesn't see how he could be in a better place than Ann Arbor. |
| 45 weeks 2 hours ago | Only an hour away |
I was wondering how the parents could afford to get new jobs in a new community, but it looks like the schools are only 54 minutes away from each other. While it is certainly shady that the college coach is telling the player where to go in order to get good grades, the practice doesn't seem that much different from basketball players who transfer to private prep schools their senior year or even a fifth year of H.S. in order to get eligible. Athletes that go to those private academies never end up ineligible. |
