Fears

To be honest, the team that scares me the most out of that bunch is Boise State.  People tend to underestimate BSU, and they really are a solid football team.  I still think last year's Boise St team was better though.

I think I'd like a match up with Stanford much more than one with Kansas St.  Just because if we're going to play in a BCS game, I want a top opponent to measure Michigan against.

Rapid Reaction

I can understand why the play stood as called, from a replay standpoint.  But that was clearly a TD, and the official on the field got it wrong.  He called him out of bounds without paying any attention to him knee being down.  On the last play of the game, the Iowa defender was ALL over Roundtree, officials weren't even watching the fucking play.  So I think Michigan got jobbed of a chance.

But that being said, we still needed a 2-point conversion and overtime.  Personally I believe Michigan didn't deserve to win, terrible play calling all day.  Obviously Robinson has never heard of scrambling.

Rankings

A lot of teams ahead of us in the top 25 polls lost today.  Look for us to move up quite a bit.  Not sure if I should be excited or scared.

Not hurting play

It is very unlikely that an abscess would affect his play on the field at all, pre or post operation.   It's just uncomfortable is all.

4th and Short

My mindset for play calling has always been more on the aggressive side.  Granted, I'm sure I wouldn't hold a coaching job very long.

But to me, it makes sense to go for it on 4th and short almost every time when you're over the 50.  Obvious exclusions would be kicking a game tying or winning field goal.  And of course it's situational.  But I just believe that your success rate will be higher when playing more aggressive in certain situations than conventional knowledge suggests.

I have similar feelings against the use of the 'prevent defense.'  (I'll save that rant for another time)

Wishing teams would over look us.

Thanks for the interesting piece jamiemac.

I find it a little scary to be favored in the Nebraska game specifically, but I am also weary about vegas favoring us at Iowa, at Illinois, and at Northwestern.  Since we haven't played a single road game to this point, this truly doesn't make sense to me.

We're all Michigan faithful here, and we've seen what has happened on the field and over the last several years.  So wouldn't you all agree that it'd be smart to bet against Michigan in quite a few of these games?

Maybe Novak

Maybe Blake Griffin's Novak?

Perfect Video Followup

M-Wolverine, you nailed that one!

Is this Gophers video for real though?  Don't they realize it does nothing but provide other schools with material to mock them?

It should also include, do

It should also include, do you like the "you suck" chant on 4th and 1 and the other team is going for it.....  You'd think the people running the Band would have enough sense to wait until we stop them.  This season alone, the band has done "You Suck" on a 4th down conversion 3 or 4 times, for which the opposing team has converted on all of them (ignoring 4th and a miles).

Being in the middle of the

Being in the middle of the student section after the ND win, I'd have to say I think the piped in music really pumped up the crowd.  So I was a big fan.

Yep

One note of disapproval, and it's considered trolling.  Just shows people on this site aren't open to other opinions.

Sorry Brian, I don't agree

Sorry Brian, I don't agree with your poll, never have.  I also don't agree with the fact that any one who voices disappointment gets their comment taken off.

I'm assuming you pay no

I'm assuming you pay no attention to Boise St?

idk

Brian, I love your blogs, but your BlogPoll every week just dumbfounds me.  I think you're trying too hard to go along with the norm (essentially repeating the AP poll).  You're a blogger, have your own opinion.

You know just as well as the rest of us that Michigan is NOT a top 25 team.  This appears to be going down the same line as the Rich Rod era.  Beat a couple of crappy team plus Notre Dame, get ranked, lose to Michigan St., and subsequently every other B1G team.

Our play on the field does not justify our rank.  The only improvement in the D I've seen from last year is that we've forced some turn overs.  And if anything, our offense has taken a nice little step back.

Really?

Come on man.  Don't be one of the dull minded masses.  Why does everyone give South Florida a free pass into the top 20?  Why?  Because they were handed a victory from a clearly overrated Notre Dame team?  You drop Georgia out and put in South Florida at 18?  Tell me, do you really believe South Florida would beat Georgia on the field?

(No subject)

xD

Oh yeah baby!!!  Love Michigan getting a big time win!

They’ve played their asses off, hats of to this team. I could not be happier with the way this season ended. GO BLUE, and good luck in future seasons!!!
