A nice surprise!

I've always loved CBS Sunday morning—and it was such a nice surprise to see Caris, Spike, and Glenn this morning on that segment!

UM folks from the local alumni club (who are not going to be at the stadium) will likely be at Gracie's bar (326 West Temple) which is pretty much in the heart of downtown.

Zia!

I lived in Santa Fe for a few years, and the NM flag is by far my favorite...love the Zia. Still have my license plate, too.

Get well!!!

Sending good thoughts your way, Ace. I hope you and your Doctors are able to make a breakthrough. I really enjoy your writing, and I look forward to seeing you back here soon.

Hatch

Anything with fresh-roasted Hatch chiles is, by definition, awesome. I've not tried a marinade, though—just roasted chiles on a burger.  I couldn't believe it when I first saw fresh Hatch chiles shipped in from New Mexico at the Meijer and Whole Foods in A2. I pretty much bought everything they had, roasted them on my stovetop, and filled my freezer for the long winter.

Recipe website

Hi Ace—I happened to see this actress on the Daily Show a while back and she was talking about her Celiac diagnosis. She shared her website with the audience...maybe there are some recipes of interest there? http://jennifersway.org/  All the best to you!

I think this falls into the "Ball of Twine" category: Sea Shell City, near Cheboygan. It's no Wall Drug, but it might do.

It looks like some of the apartment buildings at South Industrial/Stadium are back.

I am in the area to the south and east of the stadium,

and was without power from about 5am Thursday to 6:30pm Friday. Interestingly, parts of my apartment complex were still on during that time. Now, it is those areas that are without power and my buildings are on.

I just hope my power stays on this time. >knocks wood

Agreed

I lived in SLC for a few years, and it is definitely a great football atmosphere --- not to mention a gorgeous view of the Wasatch Mountains from Rice-Eccles Stadium. If this matchup does indeed happen, I'll definitely be making the trip from Ann Arbor!

Amazing storm

I was fortunate to be at both the Ohio and UTL games last season, and there's not much more I can add to everyone's amazing memories of those games. To this day I still get chills thinking about both, very thankful I was able to be there.

But the season opener was really special too--Brady's first game back at Michigan. I had a $1 poncho from Meijer, and pulled it over my head when it started raining. And it just kept raining harder and harder. I distinctly remember the crowd generating a giant roar when it was pouring the hardest. I was having a fantastic time. I stayed in the stadium during the first delay, and waited near the concession stands until they called it. I waited a few more minutes and began walking home -- shortly after I walked in the door, the next big storm cell came roaring through. Crazy day.

Congratulations Team 132!

Congratulations Team 132! Congratulations to the seniors! What a great group of guys....you'll be missed!

*Tremendous*

Thank you so much for the work that you put into this video (and all your videos)! The music and editing were really fantastic -- I smiled the whole way through the highlights. What a season.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is by far my favorite holiday. I'm thankful for my family and friends, for the maize and blue, and all the amazing young men on our beloved football team. I'm also thankful for this here blog, where I not only learn an awful lot about football, but get quite a few laughs too.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

This is my choice as well -- I love the Bell's seasonals.

Media Mentoring

I've been really impressed with all the players and how they handle themselves in front of the media. In the pre-game live chat with Bruce Madej on Saturday, I asked about the mentoring the players get for interviews and press conferences. In addition to the SID and PR staff working with the players, he said that journalist Tony Collings has worked specifically with the football & basketball freshmen. Collings was a news bureau chief in Moscow, he worked overseas for Newsweek and CNN.
