What matters more

than how WE like the stickers is what effect it has on team chemistry and other intangibles in the locker room. Most of us can only surmise what that might be like, since we aren't there with them in the locker room.

I'm not very good at metaphors, but if winning is a mouthwash, think of helmet stickers as toothpicks!

Even the smallest ones - whether for motivation or intimidation - can instill confidence or plant seeds of doubt. A brilliant flash of inspiration or a moment of hesitation - either one can make or break a play. This is just one factor among many. Line them up with natural talent, focus, dedication, EUTM, coaching, and a host of other tangible and intangible factors and you eventually get the dominating victories all of us are so hungry for.

Perhaps today!

You WILL see it on the field.

Be patient. (Or quit while you're a head) :-)

Positive turnover margin. Better special teams play.

A better coach than Bo

You MAY be right, and from what I've seen so far - not much to date - there is good reason to hope it could be. I believe many of us DO see that "something" (we would all have a different take on WHAT that is) that collectively explains why this fanbase is so energized.

We WANT to believe.

I don't bet money any more on things, but IF I were a betting man, I would put money on Jim Harbaugh establishing a legacy that goes beyond Bo Schembechler. We just need to wait and see. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the wait.

I am counting on being happy she was wrong

I've been saying since the day Harbaugh was hired that UM would win 10 games or more. In spite of the nay-sayers and doubters and skeptics, nothing i have seen or heard thus far has dampened my enthusiasm. If anything, the more I read about and listen to Jim Harbaugh, his players, his staff, and review the history of both Michigan prior to Harbaugh and the history of Jim Harbaugh, the player, the coach, the man, it INTENSIFIES my belief that most of us undervalue the intangibles. Do not concede a loss until it's in the books.

What about football NC playoffs?

I don't know the dates for those, but if you're going to include the B1G championship (if applies), why not also the playoffs? If you don't aim high, you'll never hit it.

You nailed it there

UMforlife - leadership. Intangibles. They can't be measured, but everyone KNOWS they are there. It would not surprise me if we look back on 20 years of Jim Harbaugh as HC and see a legacy that takes Bo's foundation and builds on it. Big. Measure twice, cut once.
