It's not the reason they are on the take. It is because there is no real punishment to the kid that is taking. The punishment hurts the school, the coach, the program. The kid gets it all. The 7k watch, the yacht party, then gets drafted and gets paid real money.
Take away his chance to get drafted or his chance to play professionally and maybe he doesn't take the watch or says no thanks to the yacht party.
Sure there will always be the dumb ones that take. Some will get caught. There will also be the smarter ones that maybe never get caught. But at least you have a decent penalty for cheating in college. It would drastically clean programs up. The marginal cheaters would say, maybe this isn't a good idea.
1) NCAA letter of intent includes clause that says if you break our rules and lose your amatuer status or are deemed ineligible by the NCAA due to improper benefits you will lose all priviledges to play professional football. Just need the NFL and other leagues to agree as well. They have no problem kicking the players out that break the NFL code of conduct. Explan the scope to cover their amatuer playing days as well. This is how you really clean up football. Threaten to take away these guys whole reason for playing...making it to the league. This NFL money drives all the problems.
Under these NFL/NCAA amatuerism rules: Pryor probably shows up to OSU driving a Plymouth Horizon. Sarniak doesn't give him any money, his arms aren't tatted up, he finishes with his University of Ohio State degree. He finishes career the right way then gets drafted. Football fans actually respect him and maybe even root for him in the NFL. Tressel statue erected in Buckeye Grove with him riding Unicorn.
Today rules:- TP drives a Nissan 350Z to practice among 5 other "rentals".... Takes cash from a glassman/ cashman/ bagman from PA. Gets ruled as tainted by NCAA/NFL. Can't be drafted or play professional football ever. Rosenhaus is down a client. TP Fades away into oblivion reimmerges as 2018's 30 for 30. Rudy's Antique Boutique has 2 for 1 sale on old OSU #2 jerseys that have been in storage.
One of the fastest growing chains. The Polaris one is doing some serious business down here. I believe they are starting to pop up in many Midwestern cities now.
With a roster with a couple of 5'8 waterbug slot guys, they might be looking at this guy as a WR project. 6'4, speed, and EXCELLENT ball skills, and just as skinny. Sounds like a replacement for Shawn Conway possibly?

All I can think of is the 120 yard opening drive, in which I think they ran for most of those yards and hit some long third downs. I see Dantonio and I think he would rather run than pass. Run Run, Run, play action pass. Not line up 3 wide and torch our corners, but I guess they can now since we lost our "good" corner.
That is my Logic. When I think of scary QB-WR combos. MSU just isn't in my top 5.

If I have a group of friends play as Big Ten teams and put the rest as CPU players; we would in essence be able to recruit against each other? and I also would have the ability to force ND into the conference :)

I have never signed up, but I am trying to get together a group of friends where we each have a team. How exactly does that work? Can we recruit against each other?
Also, can you play cooperative in Dynasty Mode on Xbox Live? or only head to head?
I think it was '95, comeback against Viginia. It was so hot that day, pretty boring game really until the end....heave ho to Mercury Hayes with no time on clock. Place went totally crazy!
As a die hard Michigan fan living in Columbus, I will attest the smart OSU fans do really fear what this "New' Michigan can bring and is capable of. They are well aware of the place of evolution in football. They do see that their luck will eventually run out and they won't dominate the Big Ten forever. OSU's "munch mode" offensive scheme won't be able to keep up with a Michigan team that can score 35 pts a game.
I doubt he'll crack that slot logjam so I agree he won't put up any traditional numbers, put if he can catch and hold on to punt he is well worth a scholarship.
Gallon really has me excited back there as well.
Aside from the big time players and defensive guys I have to go with Dileo. I think he was brought in specifically for his return prowess. Which right now could just amount to catching and holding onto the ball (quite an upgrade). Nevertheless, I am looking for some serious improvement in this aspect of Michigan football. Next to the defensive blunders our return game has cost us a large share of losses the last 2 years.
I am looking forward to seeing Dorsey do his No Fly Zone dance on his first collegiate pick. He will definitely get flagged, but I'll give him a pass on that first flag just to see him do that kooky dance again.
