I think you are really…

I think you are really underrating Sims. He was the offense for an abysmal GaTech team. He's a good passer and good runner who will be dangerous if Nebraska has more talent to surround him with a better coaching.

I have season tickets but…

I have season tickets but won't make it to many games because I live out of state and have a young child. I have two tickets to each game.

Section: 41 (near 41/42 border)

Row 48

Cushion seats purchased. Looking to sell the following games (all but Indiana and OSU):

ECU

UNLV

Bowling Green

Rutgers

Purdue

I have most listed on stubhub but would prefer to sell to Michigan fans. Send me an email at 2042nclarkstreet at gmail if interested!

I another point that people…

I another point that people don't seem to be making is that piling in a ton of "position" specific rules will hurt natural innovation/change in football. Maybe QBs should be large/strong enough to take hits and not simply be able to make reads and throw a ball accurately.

Is the new "point of emphasis" strictly about avoiding body weight on the QB or the "passer"?

75% of their starting OL and…

75% of their starting OL and 70% of their two-deep are 4th and 5th year players. Michigan only 3 of such players on our entire roster.

OL take forever to develop and our median OL looks to be a 2nd year player. Wisconsin's looks to a 3rd (possibly even 4th) year players.

Were they actually too far…

Were they actually too far upfield though? I didn't see Wimbush going through gap's they would be responsible for. Wormley seemed to stunt way more (probably because he didn't have the same speed rush ability as Gary?) so that may explain why he was more likely to be near the center of the field?

Dumb stat. Dantonio gets…

Dumb stat. Dantonio gets credit for beating Utah State by one score while Harbaugh is dinged for many blowouts?

What is the target record in 1 score games for a near perfect coach? Win a lot of them and it would seem to indicate that you underachieve. Go 50-50 and maybe you aren't as good at making adjustments.

I think what he actually…

I think what he actually said was "I just try to keep it out of the shark I mean keep out of the way"

I would say last year's…

I would say last year's Georgia team is a good comparison. Manball style team, returning multiple strong RBs, QB with a limited grasp of playbook and some mobility, and strong defense to lean on.

We could have had more but…

We could have had more but guys have come back

He was kind of a scumbag…

He was kind of a scumbag. Hoke didn't like him because of his off the field behavior and that is why his snaps were limited.

If someone wants to donate…

If someone wants to donate millions just to have their name on a small plaque by the coaches office and in official press releases I don't really see what the big deal is.

I'd also take DPJ over…

I'd also take DPJ over Norfleet easily.

Gardner and Norfleet played a lot of games for unimpressive Brady Hoke units but they were clearly not as talented as Henson and DPJ.

The board itself needs to be…

The board itself needs to be recalled. Last I looked over half the board had strong ties to athletics.

I love both Bells and…

I love both Bells and Founders but that list is abysmally bad. BeerAdvocate user-generated beer rankings are much more accurate (from my experience) and methodologically rigorous.

Would be cool to see this…

Would be cool to see this location open as some sort of "College Apparel" mini museum that retained the Moe's signage.

MDen just seems like it didn't really have any ideas for the space. It was too similar selection to their other stores.

Is MDen trying to sell the trademark rights to Moe's or just nailing it in the coffin?

Agree on finishing at the rim

Agree on finishing at the rim but if you are a perimeter player with good shooting form those extra inches help a bit in getting your shot off (especially in college where you will most likely be guarded by a similar sized player).

He was a great tackler as

He was a great tackler as well for a guy his size. I never worried about him getting run over by an RB or whiffing on a QB.

No way would this happen for

No way would this happen for this year's game. It is too close to gametime to pull a bait-and-switch on ND season ticket holders who renewed under the assumption that this would be a home game (as well as all those fans who already booked hotels).

Kelly and Swarbrick are already on thin ice with a huge amount of fans for the 4-8 season and transplantation of part of Disneyland onto Notre Dame stadium.

I didn't like Camp Randall at

I didn't like Camp Randall at all either. It was fairly ugly inside, had a lot of cheesy scoreboard and light displays, and played a ridiculous amount of EDM. It didn't seem special to me--just like an average B1G stadium with a better fanbase/attendance.

Of the stadiums I've attended this is how I would rank them:

Notre Dame (pre-Disneyland project)--feels like a smaller Big House and has a classic look

Kinnick--great views, good looking stadium. Concourses feel dangerously crammed at some times

TCF/Camp Randall/Indiana Memorial--TCF is the newest yet still feels traditional, Camp Randall looks great from the outside and has a great crowd, Indiana is a beautiful stadium but the crowd is generally poor.

Ross-Ade--small, almost decrepit looking, minor league baseballesque beer deck, poor crowd, ugly, horrible tradition of driving a train around the field. Only positive is that I sat in the front row behind the Michigan bench at around the 40 for about $90 dollars.

Also baffled. Not necessarily

Also baffled. Not necessarily happy about it (college kids have access to alcohol anyway so I dont really have a problem if they are drinking at Skeeps or a frat or a house party).

He lives in DC. I would guess

He lives in DC. I would guess he has been lobbying. Wikipedia mentions a few lobbying type jobs and board appointments.

Named by the same board who

Named by the same board who picked the prior President and led the university to Nassar town?

Of the 8 people in that group, two are former football players, one if a former football coach, and one is the son of a prominent past AD.

He had a lot of flaws. He

He had a lot of flaws. He assembled a lot of talent but he played every game with an underdog defensive strategy. Michigan could hang with any team in the country but also lose to almost any team. He had way too many random losses to bottom of the barrel teams and struggled to win on the road.

It's nice to have a talent advantage but when you play like a "bunker down and hope to steal a goal" strategy predominately used by massive under dogs what is the point? He switched arguably his best offensive player to defense this past year. They had the roster to be really good and instead went 6-6-6(!).

Overall his results were mediocre. This year he had a roster to win big and went .500 (they had some injuries, but so does every team).

and goodbye Ed Warriner.

and goodbye Ed Warriner.

Doesn't his older brother

Doesn't his older brother play at Central?

And he managed those two 10

And he managed those two 10 win seasons while watching all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls, 10 seasons of Friends, and 1 season of Stranger Things. Truly amazing.

I think the goal somehow

I think the goal somehow changed in the late years of the BCS. The goal used to be to try and find the national champion (team with the best season capped off by a championship game/big bowl game in).

Now it is all about finding the "best team" (or best 4 teams). I don't like it and it sets the committee up with an almost impossible goal.

Under the old goal, Alabama would not have been in the playoffs. Undefeated UCF should have been in (even if they were likely to be smoked/most people thought they were closer to the 15th best team).

I think the Alabama/LSU game was a the turning point. Again, Alabama should not have been included over a team with a similar resume from a different conference who had not lost to their opponent. No one really believed OSU was a comparable team and excused away Alabama's loss.

I think in the WAC/MWC

I think in the WAC/MWC undefeated BSU/TCU days this was a valid argument but the AAC was actually pretty good this year with UCF, USF, Memphis (though they played poorly in the bowl).

How many games did Alabama have to get up for? A fringe top-25 MSU team (which probably has a comparable recruiting pull as a top AAC team)? Auburn (who they did not "get up" for)? LSU (a mediocre team coached by a hapless fool).

Considering we basically play

Considering we basically play 5 DBs at a time I don't think think we have that many. Is always great to have a tall guy who can cover.

As one of the top teams in

As one of the top teams in the nation by every advanced stat measure.

That rule deals with

That rule deals with subsitution, not formation/scheme.

Why would there be a roughing

Why would there be a roughing the passer if the QB isn't throwing the ball? It would just be a sack or a late hit (if he had already kneeled).

Fake news. Lane Kiffin was at

Fake news. Lane Kiffin was at the Michigan practice, but it was Joey Freshwater (he bears a similar resemblance to Lane) that was at the South Carolina practice.

Wasn't it already

Wasn't it already known/assumed he was filling a vacancy temporarily?

Odom seems very focused on

Odom seems very focused on defense and gave Heupel a lot of control/leeway last year.

Do we know that Wagner really

Do we know that Wagner really has a 7 foot wingspan?

Also, what is his vertical, lateral agility, etc. compared to those other guys?

2 This post ironically fits the criteria of your second concern.

No. NFL RBs are as tough as

No. NFL RBs are as tough as nails (run backwards/off-balance as you know you are about to get destroyed by a full speed 240 LB to get an extra 1/8 of a yard). Isaac doesn't seem like he has that mentality (can't blame him)*

Who can really tell if he

Who can really tell if he gave up because he is reportedly a socially inept mute with zero ability to communicate and isolated from the rest of the team.

Moores scored a crucial 2

Moores scored a crucial 2 point conversion in last years Rutgers game. That is the type of play that wins you Holder of the Year and really the only differentiator other than botching holds/snaps. He didn't have that type of play this year.

I have insider info from

I have insider info from current students. He has been planning to transfer all year. He had been not been practicing with the team as a serious candidate for playing time until the other 2 QBs were injured.

Why not? Coaches contracts

Why not? Coaches contracts are almost always extended years out into the future regardless of performance and then they are fired mid-contract.

Agreed. I think Speight

Agreed. I think Speight struggled because everything around him was such a disaster. If the rest of the offense came together like it did I believe he would have excelled. Instead everyone thinks he wasn't a loss at all.

This is everything. We were

This is everything. We were just a bit better than than many garbage teams during the RR and Hoke years but still huge underdogs against good teams. Against Harbaugh we've been favored against almost everyone except still sizeable underdogs against elite teams.

Agreed that Matthews looks

Agreed that Matthews looks really timid. He passed open good 3 point looks on several occasions to take a dribble or two and then pass it back out.

So far this looks like potentially one of Coach B's worst 3 point shooting teams. Really only Robinson and Wagner are above-average shooters for their positions.

Brandon didn't run into the

Brandon didn't run into the ground. The company had little chance of survival when Brandon came on board.

If you don't allow these type of payments that no experienced executive would take on the challenge of trying to turn around such a company or steer it through bankruptcy so most companies would be doomed as soon as their balance sheets started to look slightly questionable.
